    Pros +

    • Location, cleanliness, nice overall. Excellent service in general
    • Lovely hotel, in a remote place, a bit of a maze to find the room, nice massage in a spa, good gym and pool
    • The exotic palace-turns hotel. You would feel that your were royalties living in this place. We went for anniversary trip and the staff kindly gave us room upgrades and anniversary cake. The hotel was very beautiful, we enjoyed taking pictures in the hotel more than the city palace.

    Cons -

    • Only time when service at the restaurant during breakfast was not great was when there were other people from a congress apparently.
    • The breakfast food could be more varied with meat, but the curry and coffee were very nice.
    • My only suggestion would be better poolside service - having staff come by to see what you might want or need rather than having to walk up to the pool bar would be lovely.

The staff members are exceptional. They kindly supported us to wear sarees which we brought. We really enjoyed having dinner with the sarees. The atmosphere of the property is quite nice.

Our 3rd time here, it never disappoints. We love the open space, the size of the pool and gardens and our suite was amazing! Jaipur can be hectic, dusty and noisy and Samode is the exact opposite so it's quite a sanctuary

The website and pictures simply do not do this place justice. The stunning historic property sits just outside the chaos of Jaipur's old city but conveniently central to all sightseeing. It's impecabbly preserved but with all of the modern upgrades (great water pressure in the shower, booming air conditioning). My room was HUGE with great high threadcount sheets and fluffy pillows. But the real star of the show is the larger property itself. After three days, I was still discovering little reading nooks, places to lounge, design details. We visited another MUCH more expensive hotel for lunch and it felt truly soulless in comparison to Samode. I was so thankful we chose this hotel. Truly charming. They also do a great job of helping to match you with the right activities, seamlessly arranging drivers and guides on the fly. It was nice to not have to plan too much in advance and be able to change up our schedule as we went. The vibe at dinner -- the live music, the lights twinkling beneath the ancient banyan tree, the incredible thali, just all around magical.

My only suggestion would be better poolside service - having staff come by to see what you might want or need rather than having to walk up to the pool bar would be lovely.

Profiled and Humiliated at Samode Haveli – A Vacation Ruined

Profiled and Humiliated at Samode Haveli – A Vacation RuinedI was deeply disappointed by my recent experience at Samode Haveli. As a foreign national of Indian origin, I was unfairly denied alcohol on a dry day—not because of the law, but because of how I looked. The staff assumed I was Indian, and a waiter even stated, “you are Indian, so we cannot serve you alcohol.” When I clarified that I hold a foreign passport, they still refused service, ignoring the actual rules and instead acting on their own assumptions. This wasn't just poor service—it was an experience of blatant discrimination. I was profiled and treated differently based solely on appearance. It was a stark and painful reminder that racism can exist even in the country of one’s birth. For such an expensive and reputed property, this kind of treatment is completely unacceptable. What was supposed to be a special vacation turned into a deeply upsetting and humiliating experience. It left a lasting scar—being racially judged in a place I once considered home.Samode Haveli needs to reflect seriously on how it trains its staff and treats its guests. Hospitality should be inclusive, respectful, and unbiased. No guest should ever leave feeling alienated, especially not in a place that prides itself on tradition and grace.

Rooms were big and the traditional feel of the hotel felt very in keeping with the wonderful old city location. We had rooms 126 (a really lovely twin (or king room) with a bath and shower and walk in wardrobe area ) and 111 which was a duplex suite. This room had a single bed downstairs with a bathroom for our son and a king bed and bathroom upstairs. Mr Rajesh, the concierge, is very helpful and where can will book drivers, expeditions etc. The grounds are lovely and the pool was much needed in the hot weather. Some of the best food we have tasted in Jaipur. A lovely buffet selection with hot orders for eggs etc for breakfast, and a delicious a la carte lunch and dinner menu.

Staff were good but not all were up to scratch. Beds could be a bit more comfortable and due to the hot weather the single air con in Room 111 struggled upstairs but it was fine when in bed!

Welcome was the best we have had on our tour. We were worried as we travelled through Jaipur but this hotel is, as previous guests have said, a real haven. You will not be disappointed.

Nothing - perfect (if I could find anything I would say be lenient on the monkeys - guests should be aware and deter them a little themselves at breakfast - I enjoyed the challenge and it is part of India to see cheeky monkeys the trees above).

Amazing staff, great facilities and beautiful room. Gorgeous breakfast.

    Nothing to not like

Service, flowers and gardens, roomand pool

Loud shots in the evening, presumably to scare off the monkeys

    the room was beautiful

however, it was very dark, with no windows, and potentially dangerous with many different levels and a very high step into the bathroom. The massive lock on the door was difficult to operate

A beautiful old family mansion, full of character. Excellent facilities and great service. Nice location in the pink city, and you can safely walk in the local neighbourhood. Lovely rooftop bar from which to watch the hundreds of kites flying every evening.

Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly. Nice Heritage hotel style

Just fantastic - one of the best hotels we've stayed at. Beautiful, characterful common spaces, a great restaurant, excellent service, and all design/details beautifully thought out. We pride ourselves on being connoiseurs of the buffet breakfast... and this was a great one. Highly recommended! The two boutiques on site (and the one just next to the entrance to the hotel) were great too for last-minute shopping, including tailormade pyjamas etc. Highly recommended!

Honestly it was great! The bedrooms in the old building as more characterful than those in the new building so request hte former if you can.

This was my second time at the property and will be my last. The heritage property is gorgeous and great for photos. The work staff is polite. The gym is small but has a beautiful view over the pool area with a treadmill that works properly which is important to me. Alcohol is served on the roof at sunset which is very nice.

I am directly referring to the management regarding these issues. My room was only cleaned twice, which is unacceptable. Like in all other nice hotels, the staff should know when their guests leave the hotel, and when they should clean the room. The rooms and food is EXTREMELY over priced. If you go in the winter, prepared to be freezing cold, all of the time. The old fashioned ac/heat units do not sufficiently heat the rooms and the rest of the property is outdoors. These complaints are minor compared to the reasons why I will not be returning. 1) When I stayed at samode two years ago, their morning tour was one of the highlights of my trip, specifically the flower and veg market. This time, the morning when I had time to go, was the morning of the kite festival. The night before, I inquired with management if everything would be open for the tour. The lady at the reception was rude, speaking over me and assertively assuring that everything would be open. Guess what, the flower and veg market was closed and the tour which is not free, was a waste of my morning. 2) They charged me hundreds of dollars extra and DID NOT HONOR THE BOOKING.COM PRICE. Had I opted to pay In advance, I would have paid the price given on booking.com. Basically, they charge you whatever they want and will not budge on this.

The room was absolutely stunning and the entire property was gorgeous. It was also very centrally located so we could avoid some traffic. Breakfast and dinner were good.

The restaurant felt pretty cold and even the waiters were wearing jackets and hats. Wish there was a heater. We tried getting a driver to Agra from the hotel but we were quoted 3x of what it should cost, which felt like we were getting lied to and ended up booking an external transfer.
