    Pros +

    • Thank you for a wonderful stay! A little bit of Paradise in Paarl ?❤️ ?? Everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing, to the complimentary room upgrade, thank you! The breakfast, the surroundings and views were top notch! We look forward to visiting again soon.
    • Breakfast was great as was the location and facilities although I did not get to experience much.Checked in, in the afternoon and left for a function at 18h00. Back at midnight and out before 10h00. Rates are on the less affordable side for the standard South African, although I do understand this is peak season.
    • The quality of the rooms are amazing and a special attention to detail. The breakfast is delicious, but the options are very limited.

    Cons -

    • We have stayed at Laborie many times over the last year, and have especially loved the executive rooms that look out over the vineyard. There is a balcony to sit on and enjoy the beauty. However, there is now some kind of pressure pump situated outside our room that was running very loudly, and so we could not sit on the balcony and enjoy the peace and quiet. Also, it kept switching on and off all through the night, and it was very noisy and very disturbing. I hope the owners remove this pump, as I do not want to stay there again with that noise.
    • Please heat the pools. It was an ice bath. I know in the mid-summer months it gets very hot but you can still manage the temperature. Some more pressure the the shower would be great.
    • We stayed in the villas, and there was a group of men drinking in the lounge and making a lot of noise until midnight, keeping us awake.

We love Laborie and always stay in the Vineyard rooms. This was our first in the Villas. We have been spoiled, but the Villas were also very good.

We stayed in the villas, and there was a group of men drinking in the lounge and making a lot of noise until midnight, keeping us awake.

Laborie is always an amazing stay - the rooms are comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated and spacious.

I think the breakfast was slightly better when it was still offered at Stoep Restaurant - however, it is also very special to have breakfast in the historic manor house.

This historic property sits in the heart of Paarl with sweeping views of vineyards, the Afrikaans Language Monument, Paarl Rock, and the surrounding mountains. The staff truly goes above and beyond. With three restaurants and a charming farm shop, you can happily stay on site and unwind. Thoughtful in-room amenities make you feel welcomed and well cared for

It's a popular property for good reason and you have to book way in advance

The hospitality of the staff was incredible. The Eggs Benedict for breakfast was the best. The location and grounds were very nice.

A Truly Exceptional Experience at Laborie Estate ?✨I recently had the pleasure of staying at Laborie Estate, and from the moment I arrived, I was thoroughly impressed by the impeccable service and stunning surroundings. Nestled in the heart of the winelands, Laborie is a true gem that combines natural beauty, rich heritage, and modern comfort in the most seamless way.First and foremost, I want to express my sincere appreciation to the team for their prompt and professional handling of my request for a tax invoice—something that can often be an administrative hurdle elsewhere. Their efficiency and willingness to assist left a lasting impression and reflected the high standard of service that runs through every part of the estate. The location is simply unbeatable. Surrounded by vineyards and mountain views, Laborie offers a peaceful, picturesque setting that immediately puts you at ease. It’s the perfect escape, whether you’re looking for relaxation or a base from which to explore the beauty of the Cape Winelands. The food was nothing short of outstanding. Every meal was a celebration of local flavors, beautifully prepared and presented with care. Whether dining at the on-site restaurants or enjoying something more casual, the culinary experience was consistently top-tier.The farm stall was another highlight—full of thoughtfully curated local goods, fresh produce, and unique finds that showcase the region’s charm and creativity. It added such a special, homely touch to the experience. The accommodation was equally remarkable. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a perfect blend of comfort and elegance, offering beautiful views and all the amenities one could need. Every detail has been considered to ensure a restful and luxurious stay. What sets Laborie apart is the range of facilities and activities available on the property. From wine tasting and cycling to scenic walks and cultural experiences, there is so much to enjoy without ever needing to leave

The Cape Dutch architecture, lovely location and views. Nicely landscaped. Extensive breakfast menu but some Gluten free and dairy free options would have been nice. The chef and waiters were great at omitting the bread, for example, when asked.

The decay of the door to the room.

Really beautiful wine farm with friendly and efficient staff. Even the security guard was very polite and helpful. The accommodation is clean and very comfortable, breakfast was excellent and good value for money.

We were not advised at booking that there was a spend limit on breakfast which was marketed as inclusive. Our rooms were remote and required vehicular travel. Too far to walk to restaurants.

We addressed a few issues with management before we left. We were not shown to our rooms and arrived in the midst of a wedding party using the Villa where we were staying. We should have had full access to the kitchen in the Villa particularly as restaurants closed early on Freedom day. One restaurant allocated for breakfast, was closed on our check out day. A map of the Estate would have been helpful.

    Shower pressure not the best

Beautiful setting, very convenient for us. Excellent choice of restaurants and friendly helpful staff.

Staff and service were great - especially the reception staff.

The breakfast was ok, but very very slow. Being the only occupied table at the time we had to wait +40min for our breakfast.

Rooms not ready by 3Mediocre Stoep dining room Poor liaison with booking online

Labourie wine farm is excellent in every aspect! The room was spacious and nicely furnished; the bathroom lovely and big with a great shower - very good water pressure! The staff were all friendly and efficient - not a single unpleasant or unhelpful one among them. The location couldn't be better - very close to downtown Paarl but far enough to make you feel you're totally elsewhere. The wine farm is large and has 3 restaurants to choose from - lovely surroundings and a stately manor house dating from around 1692.

    Everything was excellent

    10StephanPosted on: 4-16-2025

Breakfast at Stoep was amazing with incredible views of the vineyards and mountain. What a joy!

    10EtiennePosted on: 4-13-2025

Beautiful views and a very luxurious room. Breakfast was excellent. Very friendly staff.

    9MaureenPosted on: 4-10-2025

Breakfast was good and the service was friendly and prompt. The room was beautifully appointed with a lovely spacious bathroom. The Chenin in the fridge was a lovely surprise and really good. Thanks for a most enjoyable stay.

Our only complaint was the the room was not ready at 2pm and that was unfortunate as we were attending a wedding off the premises at 4pm.
