Love the vibe and location.Reasonably clean room. Excellent cold air conditioning.Nespresso Coffee maker!
Terrible wifi - almost non-existent.Clogged bathroom drainage which overflowed below the house dripping on us as we cross the pathTerrible food served at the restaurant - had chicken chop, but the only thing hot were the fries. The rest were cold. The excuse was there were 2 other big groups of people having team building events in the same resort.Terrible breakfast spread. Not worth the money paid to stay at the resort.
It was really easy to get to from the airport, jumping a Grab and there. It's in a beautiful setting, jungle and beach. Was all very well organised and a lovely feel. The cabin was a little tired but it suited our purpose as we didn't really stay in very much whilst there, just to sleep. There is a coffee machine and water. The cabin we stayed in (12) was great as close to Jungle pool, the two beaches, jungle walks and the special part, where the proboscis and silver leaf were hanging out!Breakfast was overlooking the sea whilst Silver Leaf were on the trees next to us.The zip wire activity and jingles walks were great too. The second beach was cute with lots of exploration!
Cabin smelled a little damp but was clean enough and did the job!
Location in the forest, tree house, being high at tree level
Luck of vegetarian food, place need remodeling, price is too high compared to standard
It was a lovely experience staying at the treehouse. Silver monkeys were eating right next to our terrace, and the views of the sea were beautiful. (We stayed in cottage No. 5.). Breakfast was also good - the first morning on buffet and second morning a la carte. I also love hiking trails next to the resort (blue and red route).
There was mold on the pillows, and the towels had a damp smell. No mosquito nets around the beds and there were lots of insects inside (of course because the cottage was in the jungle).
Spent 2 days with my family (teens) in 2 treehouses. Views were beautiful and the rustic treehouses created lasting memories. We booked excursions in advance which worked well for us, though communication was challenging to start. WhatsApp worked best. We wanted to do the night walk but it was full.
Communications to book excursions was challenging.
Kitchen is slow but manageable. Menu is limited but it's okay. Restaurant sit out area has best view. Damai beach is far but there are two rocky beaches accessible from the property. These beaches are good for those who are staying in the resort. Hardly any people at these beaches.
Bedding and towels in general.
We loved the location, we loved the staff and the food at the little restaurant was wonderful.
The distance was a bit far for my husband that is disabled, but they were pretty helpful by picking him up with a golf cart and giving him a ride to the places we wanted to go on the property. So in actuality, we have zero complaints because this place was a 10 out of 10.♥️
Being able to see probiscis monkeys with ease and the staff being helpful and pointing out some small things we would have missed such as a dead leaf mantis and stick insect.
The cabin needs some maintenance and a repaint inside.Bright lights inside. Would benefit from some additional dimmer lighting.
Loved this place. Stayed 3 nights, could easily stay 2 weeks! Loved the treehouse accommodation in the tree canopy; the lack of crowds (just a few locals come out to the beach picnicking on the weekends); the main noises being that of the living forest around you; the native animals seen in their natural habitat…. There is a concrete monstrosity of a resort next door - I’d hands-down choose this a place like Permai over that, any day! Plenty of activities to keep one busy. Sarawak cultural village an easy walk away. Restaurant has limited menu but adequate. Generous breakfast provisions.
That all the activities provided incurred an extra cost. I did feel this accommodation was relatively expensive (comparatively to others in Sarawak; and the most expensive place I stayed on our trip covering 3 countries), and although the activités weren’t overly expensive, it was annoying to have to fork out even more to have a kayak for an hour when we were guests at the resort.
Tree house in a jungle with a view on the ocean is truly unforgettable
No complaints
Unique treehouse experience. Clean, very comfy, amazing views. Saw Probiscus, and Macaque just outside our house.
The entire experience was fantastic. I did the waterfall trail, which was absolutely amazing! Watching the sunset from the cafe was breathtaking! What truly stood out, though, was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. A special thanks to the general manager, Nazrul Nasihin, who kindly arranged for a staff member to drop me off at my next nearby accommodation, which I wasn't expecting.. He even ensured I was picked up for a cruise I had booked with the resort after I had already moved. Truly exceptional hospitality!
The experience was great! But just a heads up- the sea view from balconies in treehouses are obstructed by the trees.
Location is the best part. Accommodation is basic but acceptable. Location of the restaurant was superb. The best part was the wildlife spotting and the beach.
Staff were lovely and always smiling. The area is teeming with wildlife. We saw Proboscis monkeys, a flying lemur and Grey Langurs all within 50m of our treehouse. Sunset on the beach was beautiful and the food was delicious.
The only thing that would have made the experience better would be a mosquito net. We got badly mauled overnight by the mozzies and woke up with tiny bumps everywhere.
Really loved the location, some lovely jungle trails right next to the resort. Wildlife on the doorstep. It was a great few days stay!
The location is great as well as the surrounding nature. The beach, monkeys and many other animals are right at your doorsteps. Even though you are immersed in nature, there is supermarket and food court in walking distance and the resort is easily reached from Kuching. Sleeping in the treehouse definitely is an amazing experience!
We booked a Tree House with two separate beds and were checked in with a Queen Size Bed. We were told that everything was fully booked and we could only get a mattress for the floor at additional cost or a different room which wasn’t a Tree House in change. Only after a longer talk at reception, we were offered to get a mattress laid on the floor for free. For the price paid for the Tree House and in terms of hospitality not the best. Many services for the beach as beach towels, frisbees, footballs, beach appliances, life jackets etc. are paid additionally, with prices per hour and by hotel guests as well as guests from outside. Breakfast is ok, for the rest we recommend eating outside of the resort. The treehouses lack maintainance - e.g. there was a small hole in on of the panels on top of our bathroom, our balcony doors did only close with a small space staying open, our toilet was leaking and waited 9 hours for it to be fixed, bathroom door did not close properly, towels were stained etc…Moreover, you can access the premises (pool, beaches, trails etc.) not staying overnight at Permai as a day visitor as well so that if you want to just relax it might not be the best. For just one night in order to have the jungle experience is worth it - otherwise it might be better to stay overnight somewhere else in Sarawak fully immersed in the jungle or in Kuching itself for less and just come as a visitor for the day to go to the beach or on the trails as regarding service and state of the rooms, the price does not match.
the food selections during breakfast was extensive and service was quick, with clean dining facilities and utensils. situated in front of the sea made for a pleasant experience altogether
There was no wifi in the rooms
