Hotel O Medan City Near Lapangan Benteng Formerly Ralica Residence

We went at this hotel 2 times during our holidays. This first time, We had a room in the 3rd floor, and I didn't get the bad reviews: the room was really nice, clean, with a lovely bathroom, hot shower. The first time, everything was really nice (except some people doing a noisy mess late at night) so We booked a 2nd time there when we'll be back

The second time was really different. We had a room in the 1st floor and I understood the bad reviews... Really strong smell of humidity, moisture all over the walls, floor was constantly wet... The view from the windows was garbage. Hot water didn't work properly in the shower. It wasn't unbearable for 1 night but... Really disappointingHowever, WIFI works well, there's water dispenser and girl in the reception is lovely

Nothing, the hotel is nice only on photo

We booking 3 person room but they geve us smoll room with 1 bed.We paid for breakfest but Man on recepcion told us no breakfast. In the end he have us cold rice.Recepcion Man was rude .It is no clean. In the boothroon It is nothing working.It is not good idea to sleep here.

I currently have a very sore leg so stairs were not an option. The staff quickly accommodated me to a lower floor room in a quiet area. Thank you and I prefer that room in the future. I will return.

Disappointing

We had to pay a deposit in cash when we arrived as the reception person said it was in case we broke something. We had to get the reception person to help us as we and neither could he unlock the door so we ended up in another room. The Wifi only works in the lobby. The bed was very old.

This place cannot be recommended at all. When we arrived at the address, the hotel had a different name (Red Doorz) and the staff claimed that our hotel (Oyo 92158 Ralica Residence) no longer existed. They referred to a note that read "We hereby to inform you that Ralica Residence near Grand Palladium which is addressed at JI. S.Parman No. 17A Medan Petisah Distrect is no longer collaborating with OYO. As of January 2023. Everything related to OYO, Agoda, Booking.com and other bookings on behalf of Ralica Residence, we as management are not responsible". It was late and we needed a place to spend the night. So we ended up spending the night at Red Doorz, which looks like Ralica to a tee. When you search for the hotels on Google, the images are virtually identical. Sheets, blankets and so on are definitely not inviting and there is no hand basin in either the toilet or the room. We subsequently read a review from February 2023 where someone had exactly the same experience as us - but unlike us, he had booked a room with Red Doorz and arrived to the message that it did not exist. Having said that, I can't understand why the place has such good reviews on here. Whether the hotel is called Red Doorz or Ralica, it is not worth a visit. Do yourself a favor: Choose another place to stay! We were subsequently contacted by Booking.com, who wrote that they had been informed that we had not turned up. We wrote that Ralica Residence could not be found at the address - and that we were told that it no longer existed. We have not yet received an answer to this from Booking.com. We can only see that our booking has been cancelled.

The guy from the reception it was polite and nice

The shower in the room it was broken ,the walls in the room are dirty the room is very small , the sheets from the bed had smell of sweat from another people . I would say this hotel need some more attention from the personal and from the owner. Nothing to do with the photos from app that they present . Unconfortable and disapointing

Very small room no balcony in my room the don't clean the room nothing around except monkeys all over I booked 3 nights we left the 2nd day very disappointed

The property is not easy to find. The bed are confortable. The room are clean, but there is a lot of noise in the hotel during the night because of the staff speaking very loudly. The staff doesn’t speak English. There were no one in the hotel too so I was not feeling very confortable

Horrible. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here

Normally I would not write this kinds of review unless the stay is really horrible. We travel alot and are not the most difficult. But this stay was just terrible.. There was no Toiletpaper. Okay it can happen and we went to the check in counter (also there is no elevator) to get some. In the room the water temperature is pretty much cold. Also, nothing we have not seen before. There was strange noises all the time so falling asleep was a challenge. Also the building itself is really bad isolated so you hear everything. We were staying on the second floor and could still hear te employees on the ground floor laughing and talking. Up till here we still thought 'okay this is not great but whatever'. Once morning came I discovered that I was covered in red spots on my body. I suspect bedbugs. The sheets are with holes and stains by the way. The night before we discussed with the employees that were there (2 people who did not understand English) with Google translate that we would like breakfast at 6. We even showed six fingers and made sure they understood. They said yes and that they will bring it to our room, because we had to leave for the airport. Well at 6.15 still nothing. We went downstairs and found an employee sleeping on the coach. When I asked him about it he said no and only at 7. No matter what we did or tried (he also did not speak English) he kept saying at 7 and was not willing to compromise and let us have some instant noodles they have standing there. So that money is also gone. There is NO service from the employees and they don't want to help. That was the last straw for us. Its just a ripoff. Do yourself a BIG favor and make sure you are not staying here.

comfortable clean rooms for a great price.

Cheap accommodation but was pretty gross to stay in. Bed sheets were once white, now turned grey with multiple stains on. Decor needs redoing, makes the place feel quite dirty. I found one of the male staff quite inappropriate.

There is an AC, western toilet and hot shower.

First of all, the pictures are very misleading. I don't know where the 8/10 rating it had when booking came from. The sheet were just grey and disgusting. They gave me a rash and we didn't dare to sleep under them. Also the sheet were stained.The bathroom just stinked. A lot. The toilet was leaking and the small room was always damp.This RedDoorz looked like the best option for our obligated overnight in Medan, but we would never book any RedDoorz again.We do not recommend this place, RedDoorz or Medan.

The location is good and the WiFi is stable enough to work.

The hotel entry is in an alley, the reception full of smoke because the staff from the hotel were smoking inside. Basically, this is not a hotel or a hostel, but a house where a family lives and they rent rooms. First impression was very bad, the receptionist didn´t speak any work of english (but I have to admit he smiled all the time and this made me feel less angry as the situation was very unreal). He put me on the phone with the owner which told me they did not accept credit cards (surprise surprise). He scorted us to the room and OMG - Room was dirty and clearly used by someone, the linen with spots and hairs everywhere; walls with mold; smelly room, and the list goes on and on. We asked the receptionist to give us the money back because trust me, you do not want to sleep here unless you want to get bed bugs. He agreed to change the room as he completely refused give us the money back. The new room was kind of okey but we were already very unhappy due to the situation and I do not recommend people stay in this place unless expectations (and money) are very low/limited. Not everything was bad, the receptionist was kind and smily all the time and he prepared us the breakfast in the morning which I found it very kind.

City center, a lot of Chinese eateries (tasty authentic kwetiau, mie pangsit non-halal), there is kitchen to use, free refill bottle water, hot shower. Room is not too small and public transportation is easy. Generally room is clean, but not spotless!! Pillow is soft

Except Chinese food, not so easy to find another type of food. In the room, wall is needed to be repainted to make the room looks cleaner and brighter. Bed is a bit too soft for us.

Too much plastic waste. They give you 2 bottles of water even though they have water in the kitchen from a huge jug. They give you plastic covered toothbrushes and toothpaste too. Enough with the plastic already. It's almost 2022

The location is a ten-minute-walk or so from Merdeka Walk (the city center) but you won’t hear noise from the streets since the location is not directly on the main street. The staffs are super kind and will pay attention to your demands. I liked that the rooms have window, so you could always switch between outdoor and air-conditioned air for your room, a feature I consider necessary in this pandemic. The property also has a kitchen where you could use the utensils if you get your food order from outside, just don’t forget to wash them yourselves after using.

I wish the owner could really reinforce the indoor no-smoking policy! I had to ask for a different room because the first one always smelled from the cigarettes puffed away by some guests outside the room. Alas, after the staffs were kind enough to let me switch room, I had the same problem with the second one! The problem was while the rooms were equipped with air conditioners, the doors of both rooms that I stayed in had some gaps where the smokes of the cigarettes could flow in from outside the rooms. If you’re sensitive to cigarettes’ smoke like I am, this could ruin your entire sleep (and lungs)!

Building, room, services, location... Is great. 15 min to merdeka walk and the train station.

WiFi does not reach some rooms

The building and rooms are nice and clean. Staff friendly, location superb and the common areas are nice room very good hotel.

The WiFi is weak in some rooms.

The bed was comfy with a TV and movie channels. WiFi ok in room. The shower was ok with got water. free bottle water. In reception you can refill your water bottle and it had hot water for tea. The place was generally clean.

The room was a little small and stuffy.
