    Location.

I was shocked when I was asked there will be additional payment required for check-in (I arrived at 2:05pm and apparently there checkin time is 3:00pm). This was craziest thing I ever heard. The room had bad smell (not sure if it was due to bad recirculating air). Towels provided were horrific old to the extent I did not want to use it. Room was not clean. Spotted flies in the room and breakfast area.

The hotel has been recently renovated which added a good vibe to the entrance. The main concern was the cleanliness of common facilities such as lifts and corridors that needs more attention from management

They had one restaurant that only served local food starting 7pm which is unfortunate, also there arent many veg. options . They are opening soon a Japanese restaurant hope it can bridge the gap

The staff was amazing, they upgraded us to a suite which was beautiful! Everything was very comfortable, and everyone was very nice. There were some areas that could’ve been cleaner, but overall our stay was amazing.

    The location

The hotel is underrenovation and this was mentioned.Experiences of Power cut. No facilities for business centre. This should have been communicated

The staff keeps coming inside the room even though the no disturb sign in on. No hot water in the shower. When I ask for any thing like Laundry or housekeeping., the always forget. I have to call 3 times. The TV channels were not working

The location of the Sofitel is very good, near the Medina and Casa Port plus other nice places to eat and look around.

The rooms are dated, the restaurant/bar has zero ambience, the staff were not particularly helpful (except the porters who were great) or interested and there was a problem with the drain/plumbing in our room which kept us up for hours, yet when we mentioned this to the staff they did not even respond.

    5ThrillaPosted on: 1-3-2025

Breakfast was good with a lot of variety, fresh foods, eggs cooked on site. Location is very good, near restaurants, the marina, bazaar, Rick's restaurant, etc.

Air conditioning was not working well---it never got cold, just room temperature. The room, though expensive at over $225 a night, was poorly designed and felt cramped and narrow. Due to all the tour groups, the restaurant was packed with people at breakfast, and the waiting lines were too long. We shouldn't have to wait over half an hour just to get breakfast. The poor waiters were running back and forth---it created a very stressful situation.

The meal buffets were very good. The hotel staff was wonderful. The location is terrific.

The room is tired. 1902 has a cracked window. It looks like a bird flew into it and there seems to be dried blood on the window and feathers stuck on the window. The room needs to be refurbished and deep cleaned.

    6SupuPosted on: 7-22-2024

I like the room and the view outside from the window

the broken lifts need to be repair in order not to waste time waiting for one lift

Lovely room , great view , very well equipped

    Great location

    4MohammedPosted on: 7-3-2024

    Location

The room was dated, had only 2 power sockets, the room was dusty, old furniture, old fixtures and fittings, cramped toilet, air conditioning was poor quality, and this was all after getting an upgrade to the executive suite! Shocking for a brand like Sofitel. And even when I told the receptionist in the morning there wasn’t much acknowledgement. Room service was also bad.
