Pros +
- Most of the Staff was polite and helpful
- Chose to stay at this hotel mostly because of the availability of the gym which looked good in the photos. However, the photos were misleading, as the gym was not available and was under renovation during the period of my stay. The hotel is divided into 2 with a wall in between, and the gate in between gets locked in the evening so the other side becomes not easily accessible. The room was okay, but was disappointed that there was no fridge to store any food/keep cold drinks (which is very helpful in the hot climate!).The food was decent and on par with other similar value hotels. However, I would much more prefer staying at other hotels, such as Severin Sea Resort, which has a gym and also better room facilities (e.g. a fridge).
- The staff were really friendly and helpful. The beach restaurant was nice. And the location on the beach was great.
Cons -
- Bedbugs, ants, and cockroaches in the rooms. The bathroom door, which is a sliding door, kept getting stuck so that my mother who is slightly disabled was stuck in the bathroom a few times. The telephone was not working, first in my parents’ room (which was an upgrades ocean-view room) then in my room. There was no fridge in my brother’s room. There is construction going on on the property - they failed to mention this anywhere during booking - so getting in and out of the hotel was always a hassle. The guard at the hotel gate would not let us in until we explained that we are guests at the hotel. And this was every time we left the hotel. If you have elderly or disabled people in your group, don’t book - there are no accessible options at all anywhere in the hotel. Oh, and I forgot to mention there was no hot water in my room for the first day and bugs on the bed - you’d think they’d clean the room before the guests checked in. I had booked 3 rooms in total for a 4 night stay. Cost me almost $2000 - not worth it at all. Last time I had stayed at Sarova White Sands which is slightly more expensive but I’ll gladly pay more for a better experience and peace of mind during my stay than come back to Travellers. Stay away.
- The aircon in my room was noisy and dripped water constantly onto the floor. Felt like trying to sleep in a room where it was raining inside the room. I also tried to go to the Indian restaurant only to find it closed, at 8pm Saturday night and found myself having to have room service instead as the buffet restaurant was the only other option.
- More local options for breakfast ie mbaazi etc, food was not hot and there seem to be no activities for younger teens.

Rooms, were spacious, activities in the pool

Location excellent, right on the beach. Rooms are large and comfortable
Hotel is enormous, so long queues for buffet meals. Initially I was given a very noisy room, despite asking for a quiet room. (I moved, but then had no view).
Upgraded since my last stay 6 years ago. Beautiful
Bar stools in the beach bar. Uncomfortable. Never been upgraded since I first went there in 2013. Beach bar still beautiful though.
I love the facility.Top notch
The staff discriminate bed and breakfast guests. They behaved as if they were policing us. Visible preference for all-inclusive guests
Friendly helpful staff and great location and facilities
Management attitude leave a lot to be desired, do not stay here on business as it's almost impossible to greet visitors who aren't residents without undergoing a Spanish Inquisition! Also pool with swim up bar was being renovated, which was NOT stated upfront, poor form!
The room was spacious and clean. Modern bathroom with hot water. Great view and lovely balcony. The hotel is directly on the beach with easy access and pool directly accessible and not congested. The breakfast and dinner was diverse and the chefs serving the food were very pleasant and friendly.Majority of the staff were cordial and friendly. Special thanks to Jacinta at reception and the towel handler/lifeguard who were very kind.Overall the stay was pleasant and facilities surprisingly great.
The predetermined seating arrangement in the restaurant is quite inconvenient as one may wish to eat earlier inorder to sit under a fan or with a view. Consider free seating/first come first serve basis. The table was not cleared during my entire dinner and breakfast which made it hard to eat on a full table. But some staff are quite cold and unfriendly. esp at the reception and some waiters at dinner. A little friendliness goes a long way. Unfortunately the music from the pool bar/beach bar was loudly audible from the pool facing/garden facing rooms all afternoon well into the night. Making it difficult to have peace and quiet. Wish I was given a warning about this beforehand as should be the norm.
Bad
Dirty rooms. Daily not changes bedddings. Tried scamming me at reception in day 2. Rude receptionist Therese lady
The end year party and dinner, warm swimming pool water and clean beach
Selling drinking water during dinner
Good food, great location and service/facilities.
Gym facility could do with equipment refurbishing and perhaps a bit more emphasis paid on entertainment. The bathroom taps in room 323 were not working satisfatorily.
Breakfast was good, a wide variety of choices to eat from, not a wide variety of juices though but I suspect it is because they were doing fruit of the season for them. Staff during breakfast were alert and quick to serve
The room had no fridge - this should be a minimum requirement in rooms in Mombasa due to the heat. There were no courtesy sandals in the room.
MAJOR CONSTRUCTION WORKS
It is MAJOR CONSTRUCTION WORKS going on in the hotel at the moment. Terrible noise. The workers were drilling and hammering in the wall for hours just outside my room. Worst experience ever with a hotel in Kenya. No information about the works on their website.
I stayed at Travellers Beach Hotel with my family of four for a week and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is located on the beautiful Bamburi Beach, with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, and some have a four poster bed that adds a touch of romance. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive, and they made us feel very welcome. The hotel has four restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines, from local to international. We especially enjoyed the seafood at SuliSuli and the Indian food at Sher-e-Punjab. The breakfast buffet was also delicious and had a lot of options to choose from. The hotel also has two bars that serve drinks and snacks, and we loved relaxing at the beachside Pwani Kofi with live music in the evening. The hotel has a large lagoon-style outdoor pool that is perfect for cooling off and having fun.
One of the pools on the hotel side was undergoing maintenance so we had to go to the Travellers Beach Club side which is about 7 - 10 mins walk… not too bad but quite long when you just need to grab something quick from the room
Excellent. Attentive staff. Visited with my family for a one day visit. Really liked it and would go back again anytime.
Nothing to say here.
Excellent room , good location , very friendly staff , very clean hotel
Variety of good food, clean room, nice beach, courteous staff
Bathroom leakage. Sometimes it would flood at night...room 205.
I loved the hospitality
The flies at the buffet meal were disturbing yet no one seemed to care that there were flies all over the food. This was abit disgusting
Comfortable rooms were a good thing, spacious and well furnished space. The food variety was okay with delicious picks. I enjoyed my short stay.
It was a bit expensive in comparison to the other facilities around. I guess maybe because it was a high season.
