Pros +
- You are in a perfect location and the room is equipped with a little kitchenette (microwave, small refrigerator). Not luxury! But 100% cozy. I’m an expat from America and would recommend this vs any Best Western or Clarion hotel that cost more. There is no AC in ANY hotel room in this part of Sweden. So don’t think an expensive hotel down the street will have air conditioners. The owner gave me a fan and my room is completely comfortable! This hotel is a great hidden gem! There is an ICA (grocery store) only a few minutes walk. Tons of restaurants and shopping literally outside the front door. I highly recommend this place!
- It was an impressive value and a centrally located hotel in, old town. Check-in was unmanned, exceptional, and smooth. Rooms are big, spacious, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you are a party guy - the location is just as central as it gets, old town, many restaurants and cafes.
- During our recent family ski vacation through Sweden and Norway, we found ourselves in Östersund for just one night, and chose to stay at Hotell Zäta Longstay. Our trip was quite the adventure—we changed locations every day, so convenience and comfort were very important to us. Hotell Zäta turned out to be a wonderful choice.Arriving in Östersund, we were immediately pleased with the hotel’s central location. It’s right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore the surroundings and find everything we needed within walking distance. The self check-in process was straightforward and efficient, which was a relief after a long day of travel with our two children. We received clear instructions before our arrival, and within minutes we were settled in our room. The hotel offers underground parking, which was especially appreciated. Being able to park our car in a warm, secure garage and take the elevator directly to our floor made things much easier. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was cozy and thoughtfully arranged and with a big bathroom, with everything we needed for a comfortable night. What made our stay even better was the well-equipped common kitchen on our floor. Although we never met any staff in person due to the self-service concept, we were truly impressed by their dedication and honesty. After we checked out and continued our journey, after some days my husband realized he had left his AirPods somewhere on the trip. Not long after that the hotel contacted us and let us know they had found them, and then arranged to send them all the way to our home in Sofia. This thoughtful gesture really made a difference and left us with a very positive impression.
Cons -
- It was hot outside, 32ºC, and the room doesn't have any AC or forced ventilation - so we had to keep the windows open. It's a central location, so it was super noisy until deep at night and early morning. Our sleep and recovery was so so, honestly. The second thing we didn't like was using cutlery or cups – you had to wash them first, and this was extremely dirty. The room was shiny and clean, though. Car Parking close to the hotel - was quite challenging, hence it's a central location.
- Double-bed was narrow. Not a lot of space for storing clothes.
- I wasnt sure about the vending machines in the kitchen area. Not sure they were working properly as they were showing the wrong prices so i didn't bother useing them. Would of been better if someone was there to help.

Excellent location in Centre, comfortable room with fridge, microwave, TV. Access to well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. Helpful staff. Smokers’ balcony. Quiet.
Double-bed was narrow. Not a lot of space for storing clothes.
The room was perfect. Comfortable, lots of place, inside there was everything we needed. We came around 11 PM and it wasn't any problem to check-in. The hotel was very easy to spot from the street and basically impossible to miss. It was a great hub too, as there were many fun places around. The stuff was very nice and helpful. Highly recommended place.
Very local to where I needed to be. Comfortable and clean rooms. Quiet.
I wasnt sure about the vending machines in the kitchen area. Not sure they were working properly as they were showing the wrong prices so i didn't bother useing them. Would of been better if someone was there to help.
Bad
The hotel gave away my private information which compromised my safety. I needed a safe place to stay and was escaping a dangerous situation and the hotel told a person who called and asked whether I was staying there that i was there. A serious violation of privacy laws.
It was like a home away from home.
At first it seemed that we were all alone on auto pilot. However, whenever I called or emailed I hot what I needed right away. The front door opens automatically when you scan card in, but it stays open too long. It should close shut faster after guests enter. Perhaps crime is not a problem in Sweden.
Nothing as they took out money and did not fulfill the accommodation requirements. Service rendered zero yet they refuse to give our money back.
This property should never be recommended for any tourists
location. big room
Reception is open only for few hours per day.
No-frills hotel: clean room (but without breakfast). There were food & drink vending machines and a clean kitchen. Check-in was smooth.
Bed was too narrow for two people, only 1.2m wide.
Beautyful room in a perfect location. Very clean. Very helpful staff. The spacious and well equipped room really surprised me. A very clean kitchen could be used.
Cooking facilities are fantastic
Email with local information was encrypted so we couldn't read it and had to use a Swedish friend to phone up and find out room arrangements
Pleasant self check in accommodation in the centre of Östersund. Limited cooking facilities available within the room (microwave etc).
There was a lot of street noise (we stopped on a Saturday night). Not the hotel’s fault, but probably something to be aware of. Pack earplugs….
Nice location in the city center.
Not well cleaned. Kitchen not fully equipped.
Simple check-in via code, received by text message. Great location in the city centre, but still quite
Really clean room, excellent location ,Smooth check in
Everything was ok
Very neat and clean. Excellent customer service. Well equipped kitchen. staff was super nice to alllow us late check out. Will definitely recommend for families. Right in the center of the city. Excellent overall
Location was in the city center and within walking distance to places I needed to go to. Shopping center is on the same street and easy to do some shopping, find a cafe or restaurant and even supermarket.
It felt a bit cold in the room and took time to sleep.
This was our second time returning to this hotel and even though we liked it the first time around, this time we booked a larger room since it was available and it was perfect. There's no doubt that we will always book Zäta Longstay when we visit Östersund: the location and rooms are fantastic, it's clean and quiet, there's kitchen with everything you need and the rooms are also stocked with micro and fridge.
