    Pros +

    • The staff were incredibly caring. I stayed for one night to relax after suffering a severe case of malaria and hospital stay in Dar. The staff looked after me and assisted with everything I needed.
    • Clean, perfect location, spatious room and bathroom, good bed, attention to detail, very friendly and helpful staff and one of the best breakfasts we have ever had.
    • Location is excellent, the breakfast was really good with a lot of options and there was plenty. Friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • We found the price of the ordered taxi too high and it was immediately halfed. So haggle or get one directly nearby at the old fortess.
    • The wifi connection was absent or really slow, which at times made it impossible to work. There is limited hot water.
    • Nothing to dislike

Traveled with a group of friends. We had three rooms that were all very posh, clean, and smelled pleasant. The staff was helpful and nice. We enjoyed shopping in the attached boutique and had a great dinner there as well. Location is great if you want to be in the historical old center. I would definitely stay again. Only thing to note is it shows there is a pool or hot tub but there is not.

    Newly renovated property. Family rooms

Management imposes same exchange rate for euros and dollars to the shilling even if the euro is much stronger than the dollar Expensive or no late checkouts

Gorgeous hotel. Central location. Friendly staff.

Rooms were very noisy - we had a 4am start (due to flight) and were disturbed by noise on the street for many hours of the night.

A beautiful boho chic style hotel. I loved the aesthetic and it was also very spacious and clean.

Nothing. Some complained about service being slow but I think that’s just Zanzibar in general as they’re making everything from scratch.

Super friendly and helpful stuff at the hotel. Everyone has a smile on their face and they ate so nice. The chef even made extra food for us which was not on the menu

    Absolut nothing

Absolutely everything was perfect. The hospitality, the ambience, the cleanliness, the location - everything is spot on! The design of the hotel I loved - it’s a new hotel but incorporates the es essence and details of the historical Zanzibar. I’ve stayed in other hotels in Stone town, and many tend to be old and made from wood, which provides you ambience but is prone to insects. Here most furnitures are concrete with some wood and it balances perfectly. I would love to return. The staff are extremely welcoming and will accommodate your needs.
