Pros +
- Great location, very quiet and comfortable. Very refined ambiance plus excellent breakfast.
- Nelson and Jay were fantastic hosts! The hotel is in a great location 2 mins walk to the main strip where there are some great restaurant options.
- Nice, small historical hotel with good service and friendly, supportive staff. The location is close to the main street of Franschhoek but quiet. Restaurants and shops are close by.
Cons -
- Everything was fab
- Our room was in the old building (a new one is also there), aged and a bit smelly / musty. The old aircon was leaking into the TV below what caused a shortcut. For a hotel claiming for 5 stars and asking for corresponding rates, the room was not appropriate (more 2 stars rather than 5). Dinner is only a small selection and needs advance booking for preparation. We booked in advance for one evening but it was forgotten to prepare.
- No hair dryer in room.Only duvet on bed in very hot weather.

The staff were excellent, the hotel was characterful, clean and comfortable. We left too early for breakfast but they very kindly made us boxes to take away. Really enjoyed our brief stay.
Beautiful decor, friendly staff and great breakfast
Very good
No hair dryer in room.Only duvet on bed in very hot weather.
A great hotel right in the middle of Franschhoek. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
All good
Great central location, nice big room, good breakfast.
I was. So impress. When we get there we were greeted by the lovely lady Ayona who take us for a introduction. Room. Was sooo. Beautiful. Food was amazing.. Very young friendly guy Alex served us Oh what a bundle. Of joy. The owners should give him a tap on the shoulder. He was outstanding with his hospitality. Than there was Wesley and Ash always busy greeting and helping the guest. I must say they run that place. As if they are the owners. Team. Work. Make DreamWork. I am. Super proud of them. Thank you for an amazing night.
I love everything
Beautiful building but needs a little touching up here and there to make excellent.
The shower grouting needed attention and some detail dusting was required
The staff were friendly and helpful the breakfast was good. The overall layout was very good if a little quirky and the pool and bar were very enjoyable. The air con was really good and the rooms modern clean and airy. Overall we had a great time.
The only things we found didn't work 100% were there was no mirror near enough to the dressing table to do make up, also having a window in the shower which looks onto the next rooms outside seating was odd! Trying to get back into the car park after popping out was very difficult, we always ended up having to access via the pedestrian gate then walk to reception to get them to open the car park gate as ringing the bell never worked.
I have stayed here 4 times now and every time this place exceeds my expectations, and makes me feel right at home. I am so grateful for the team (Sakhi) in returning to me left items, going out of their way to get it to me in Cape Town
Fantastic boutique hotel in great location just back from all the amazing bars and restaurants in Franschoek
We had a few minor issues that were dealt with promptly by the hotel staff, who were all amazing
Welcoming staff, serene surroundings and lovely bedrooms although I’d avoid a loft room especially in the height of summer.
We liked the position and the layout of the hotel with different seating areas.
Our room was not the one shown when we made our booking. It had no view and no private seating area with a table where you could sit. So we were disappointed having paid up for a superior suite.
The property was full of character and very comfortable with everything you could possibly want for a great stay. It’s a really lovely touch to have coffee, tea etc available whenever you want it. The spa was great and all the staff were really helpful.
Nothing!
We found the rooms to be a very cozy environment with all the necessary facilities for our stay, a treat with a cupcake in the late afternoon, the breakfast is very tasty and the excellent location, I would return as often as necessary.
Fabulous location, lovely atmosphere, super breakfast and really helpful, kind, professional staff that go out of their way to help. A huge thank you.
Location was ideal; central but also quiet.
Breakfast could have been better.
The room was good and location
Lack of attention to detail and junior staff just left to get on with it. Lack of a visible manager meant many things hit and miss. Not up to previous hotels in group we have used. We have another hotel in the group on our travels which we have stayed at before and was excellent. Will be interesting to see if standards maintained
