Pros +
- The staff at the hotel was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly, accommodating and informative. I had a short stay the week before and decided to return because we enjoyed our stay so much.
- Everything
- The HSH Rosebank is neatly situated in one of the nicest neighbourhood of Joburg. Rosebank is a green area, but with the Oxford str. nearby reaching all parts of the city is fairly easy.We wanted to explore the town and I think HSH Rosebank was really great "base camp" for that. The breakfast was really great (it is not a lot places serving eggs Benedict for breakfast - LOVED IT).The room was clean and well equipped, the roof-top terrace is a great place to chill after the day with nice views, and Hazel is the cutest addition to the staff that is extremely friendly and helpful!!There are some really nice albums/books about Joburg in the hallways - quite honestly, we got some really cool ideas from them about what we could visit in town. Thanks for that extra!
Cons -
- The fact that my room 206 was sharing a balcony with room 205 A bit awkward, as I like to have the AC off and the doors open, but knowing there are strangers using the same space I anticipated to be allocated to my room. Anyway, will request different room next time
- There is no downside of this place I think, really enjoyed our stay here!
- The hotel didn't give us an option (like a card or something like most hotels) to ask to change our sheets or not. I thought this wasn't great. We were there for more than 1 night and I would've wanted my sheets changed but I didn't have the option to do so. At breakfast, the food was cold and some of it was not covered. Please invest in an electric food warmer or even the small ones with candles or hot water. It was very unpleasant to eat a cold breakfast. I couldn't even ask someone to heat it up because the staff where busy tending to other guests or in and out of the kitchen. Also, there is a dog that seems to live at the hotel. Although this is very cute, the dog goes into the kitchen and comes to sit at your feet during breakfast. I love dogs, but for cleanliness reasons, a live animal should not be wondering in and out of a professional hotel kitchen. Moreover, since the dog has free roam, at least teach it not to stand at guests table essentially begging for food. Also please state upfront that there is a dog on the premises so guests know before booking. There was no consideration if someone may have a phobia or allergy to pets.I've stay at Home Suite Hotels in Cape Town and that was a much more pleasant stay purely because there were no unexpected surprises like in Rosebank (i.e.: the dog).

The stay was excellent. Exceptionally clean bathroom and common areas.

Genuine, homely atmosphere. Loved the honesty bar. The food is excellent - you must eat here. Staff kind and rooms and beds spacious and comfortable.
close to shopping mall, clean
pool is actually a big paddle or bathtub, food is very average
The staff were wonderful, the food great and the hotel was beautiful. It was brilliant having a rooftop pool and bar. We also adored the hotel dog.
Could have been some more atmosphere on the roof terrace, like some music.
Modern, well designed, freshly renovated, nice amenities. Good early breakfast box
The staff was disappointing. Confused the orders in the restaurant 3 times in a row, then it took almost 2 hours to get our food at the restaurant and when we finally got it, some of the dishes were uneatable (tartar was extremely sour).
Such a lovely hotel. Amazing rooms and delicious breakfast. Very friendly staff.
The facilities are excellent. The rooms are spacious and stylish. The rooftop pool is a treat. I would recommend staying here to anyone. I was really impressed and believe it was great value for money!
The aircon was perhaps not quite as strong as I prefer it to be (as it was a very hot day) - but the temperature in the room was pleasant nonetheless.
What a fabulous hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We pre-booked a driver, Hugh, through the hotel for our party of four and he absolutely made our Johannesburg stay perfect and one to remember. We enjoyed trips to Lesedi cultural village, the Cradle of Humankind and Johannesburg and Soweto. When we heard that Maroon Five were playing at the stadium, Hugh even arranged at a moment's notice through the hotel travel service, to take and collect us from there! What an incredible service he provided and what an asset he is to Rosebank Home Suites!
Everything was great!
Outstanding staff, bar and food service was a little slow BUT more than made up for by the exceptional quality of the food (seriously we ended up eating most of our meals at the hotel it was SO good, plus the friendliness and warmth of the staff made the whole experience outstanding!
It's not a complaint, just an observation, but if you're going to have a rooftop bar, you need to have person up there full time to take drinks orders. We waited a long time and often had to message to ask for service on the rooftop.
Nice modern hotel.
The increased 2024 price now makes it bad value for money. Towels stained. Furniture stained. Breakfast service very bad. We had finished breakfast and our coffee cups still hadn’t been removed from the table. Staff clearly need better training.
I love staying here. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are incredibly spacious and very comfortable. The bed is perfect, not too soft and not too hard and it is always quiet.
Nothing could have been better. It is always a superb experience.
Convenient and using booking.com pricing competitive.
Service at front desk was slow since only using one phone.Lack of DSTV means access to quality sport out of reach. This can actually mean will not use the facility when there are big games on TV.
Very clean, spacious room and great ambience. Breakfast was delicious especially the muffins! WiFi and Netflix great.
Laundry service is offered (outsourced) but too expensive as they charge per item. Would be great if there were spa/gym facilities.
The whole place is great and comforting. Has a real home feeling when you go. The food service takes a bit long but you see that it’s made from almost scratch and comes hot makes it really worth while
Spacious room, fantastic bed, friendly staff and great food!
Nice room, very clean and comfortable, in a secure area with small pool on the roof top terrace. Within a relatively short commute to The River and Royal Jo’burg golf courses. Also very close to the bars and restaurants of The Bank district.
The breakfast wasn’t the best, the fresh omelette was very good, but the ‘fresh’ fruit selection was pretty poor and didn’t look very fresh.
Very quiet and exclusive. Seemingly safe and power sufficient
No DSTV, Need to expand the restaurant offering
