The Parkwood

Beautiful accommodations. The room was just amazing. Luxury.

We arrived in the evening on a weekend so there was no staff on site expect one all-purpose guard, helper. He was nice but didn't have much info for us, nor was there anyone around really in the morning besides the kitchen staff, nice but limited info.

Very clean with a beautiful serene setting. I love the little extras like the towel warmers and cognac in the room at night. Very private and quiet.The honor bar was a bonus for the nights when you want a glass of champagne!

It was difficult to find someone to help us when we had questions.

The Parkwood is elegant and beautifully set up. The room was luxurious and well appointed. The staff were welcoming, accommodating and efficient. This is a tranquil and upscale retreat, convenient to everything you would want to do. Just excellent.

We traveled as a group and could not have asked for better accommodation. JP, the concierge, greeted us, and was nothing but welcoming and a great host. The food was wonderful with a lot of choice. The rooms are exceptionally furnished and large. The patio was a wonderful place to hang out. We were so pleasantly surprised by everything. I would highly recommend staying here.

Other than construction noise around the Parkwood, which could not be helped, there was nothing that could be changed.

The size of the property was big enough to have a dining room but small enough that we felt like we were part of a family visiting from out of town. Rooms were large and comfortable, and decorated nicely. The patio, gardens and library nook added exceptional places to relax. Staff were so friendly and helpful. This was our first visit to Joberg and they helped us map out places to see that were not necessarily on the prime tourist lists.

Bathrooms are outdated open concept making lighting a challenge for middle of the night visits.

JP was a great host and food was great!

Shower allowed water to spray on the floor and had some potential mold. Hot water set off fire alarm.

Great Breakfast, and Jean - Paul the host was so kind and attentive. The room was spacious and beautiful.

The Parkwood is an oasis of tranquility in a busy city. We are regular travellers to South Africa and the Parkwood is our go to place. Comfortable, secure and convenient to most places. Staff are efficient, charming and helpful.

We are regular guests at the Parkwood. JP and his team always go above and beyond, we love staying here! Rooms are large and clean.

Nice fresh fruit at breakfast, plenty of variety for breakfast also. Very relaxed. The location was ideal for walking to the local shopping mall and the staff advised us the safest route to walk.

Breakfast is amazing and plentiful. Also have dinner during the week which is delicious.

Would love it if they had a small gym.

Clean, well maintained, 24/7 security and more importantly, JP was absolutely fantastic! His recommendations were superb and his help and advice were integral to our trip. Can’t wait to be back! Have travelled through the region and this has got to be the best hotel I’ve stayed at.

The Service received from JP was exceptional. Gate control was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was delicious with the perfect sized portions. Overall décor was beautiful and stylish. I will definitely visit this establishment again!

This was our Fourth stay at the Parkwood. The staff are fantastic and the rooms are always spotless, JP constantly goes above and beyond for the guests. We love staying here!
