Sandton Sun and Towers

The staff were kind & extremely responsive when I booked the wrong room category. The hotel has two buildings Sandton Sun/Sandton Sun Towers. I appreciated all the staff that assisted with scheduling drivers and airport transfers. Exceptional hospitality

Definitely not a first-world 5-star experience, but great value given the price if you keep realistic expectations. We tried two of the hotel restaurants, and they were okay and wonderful, respectively. Breakfast was fairly good, too. We'd happily come back again.

We intended to use the laundry service, but it was exorbitantly priced relative to everything else, so we didn't.

The staff were friendly and helpful! The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant staff knew what coffee we liked and ordered it as soon as they saw us. Maintenance staff was instantly at our room resolving any issue, and with a smile.

The choice of TV channels. Better movie channels would be appreciated. Weekend outdoor live music could be heard on our floor 11 into night.Refrigerator didn’t work, but maintenance was quick to replace. Phone issues and WiFi problems quickly resolved.

Its location gives you easy access to key locations in the city and surrounding areas

Gym and pool location from the sun side is not ideal

This was just a one night stay for us on our honeymoon but it did not disappoint! The staff were so kind during our reception and stay and it was amazing! They went above and beyond, so much so that they were upset I didn't let them know it was our honeymoon and insisted on letting them know when we were going to dinner. They ended up putting a celebratory bottle of champagne and a slice of cake in our room for celebration! The room service was amazing and the room itself was fantastic! If you are staying in Joburg long term or just for a few nights I would highly recommend staying here as it is located in close proximity to many places you would want to go!

Location is very convenient as it is attached to sandton city mall. So wasy for shopping and eating- many cafes and restaurants.

The airport shuttle organized by hotel was 30minutes late and I had to walk up a distance to catch it, lugging my bags. That wasn’t great.

On our first night in the room, we tried to use the kettle but the electricity went down in the whole room, they took time to come and fix it and it turned out it’s because of the kettle was damage . Also the housekeeping wasn’t that good, I couldn’t sense any good smell after cleaning especially the bathroom smelled bad even after housekeeping.

The showers in the pool area didn’t work but the staff let us use the business area showers as we were leaving to go to the UK that afternoon. Very happy thank you

It was unclear if we were in the Sun or Towers when booking so I put the address shown on Booking and it’s for the Towers. It confused prearranged taxis.

Honestly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. From the friendly staff to the amazing breakfast and the spacious rooms, I absolutely experienced the 5-star treatment. I was in awe of how beautiful it looked inside. There are actually two hotels/buildings that are connected by a walkway. The one we stayed in is Sandton Sun and it is connected to the huge Sandton mall. Wound absolutely recommend it.

It would have been nice to have an iron and iron board in the room but we were able to easily access one.

The breakfast was hands down the best breakfast in a hotel that I have ever had. The room was big and clean and modern and had a great bathtub - not all hotels offer a tub, so I was grateful. The front desk staff were nicer this time - we stayed one night prior to our safari 9 days earlier and the staff member then was basically annoyed that I even came up to her to check in; not so this time- the staff member was smiling and helpful. The gym and pool are great - so all in all, I highly recommend this modern hotel that is located in the Sandton City mall which is very high end and nicely appointed with numerous cafes and shops.

Location. The fact it was connected to the mall was super convenient. It’s also very safe.

Cleanliness - shelves were a bit dusty and the bathroom could be more clean.
