Pros +
- It's a truly magnificent property. The room we had was huge and well appointed. It is a a little dated, but the place made up for it with all the amenities and the cleanliness.
- The food was excellent. The staff was amazing. The grounds and the spa were lovely. The furnishings and public rooms were beautifully decorated.
- The room was incredible, but the AC unit was very noisy and bothersome.
Cons -
- I thought it was dated. But a minor issue
- The restaurant, the spa, and the building with guest rooms were all separate. One of the days we were there it was raining. Although they had many umbrellas, it was wet and slippery walking from one area to another. The bathroom in our room did not have a full door - it was a folding louver door so that when one of us went to the bathroom at night, turning on the light disturbed the other person who was sleeping.
- At breakfast, all the available tables had been used and not been reset. We had to sit outside to find a table. Our breakfast took very long to arrive and was cold by the time it did. The coffee (americano) was very weak and cold. The breakfast staff were not well trained and not very helpful.

Beautiful room, excellent service, food, facilities
Loved almost everything about the place besides the staff by the spa, very disappointing
The staff at the spa, when booking the spa they didn’t give us more information about it, like the rooms outside.. when we got there, they didn’t give us a tour like most spa’s usually do but funny enough when we were by the pool we saw another lady giving another couple a tour, strange. I had to ask where the pool was and they didn’t even take me to the pool, they just directed me and told me I won’t miss it. Worst experience by the spa
My bed sheets had blood on them like a lot of bloodThe bins in the toilet was not emptied so the room was not cleaned so I did not like anything
The treatment from the Maneger was horrible he suggested that I could have a cut my self and pretend to say it was not my blood.
Great staff, beautiful room, excellent location
Too bad that the spa isn’t open after diner
Dinner was great. Given gave us 5 star treatment.Adelle was an amazing host from the moment we arrived.Wonderboy gave us a history lesson of the property. Loved it.
Other lady at the front desk could be friendlier.
Most the facilities, room and location. Parkrun the best! You should advertise it
Breakfast can be better
Room was large and beautiful, breakfast was an absolute treat! Can't recommend it enough.
The spa is beautiful but the treatments could have been better. My foot massage was particularly disappointing.
The service, the aesthetics in the rooms and restaurants, The Spa facilities.
The parking areas is a bit congested and driveway a bit small when you driving in and someone is coming out.
My recent stay at Fairlawns Hotel was a mix of highs and lows. The rooms are undeniably beautiful, offering a touch of elegance and comfort. However, a few areas fell short of the standard expected from a boutique hotel. Pros:Xoliswa's Exceptional Service: Xoliswa was an absolute gem. Her kindness, compassion, and attention to detail were standout features of our stay.Beautiful Garden: The lush, well-maintained garden provided a serene escape and was a highlight of the hotel experience.Lovely Spa: The spa facilities were relaxing and enjoyable, though staff knowledge about retail products could be improved.
Cons:Technology:The lack of USB ports in the rooms was inconvenient. The DSTV package was disappointing, with no access to Netflix or YouTube—a surprising omission for a hotel of this standard.Communication Issues:Resolving a simple Christmas lunch reservation required over four emails and unnecessary anxiety. To make matters worse, we later received a bill four times the cost of the meal due to inadequate communication.Housekeeping and Staff Protocol:Housekeeping carts parked outside our door while we were still in the room felt unprofessional and tacky.Excessive chatter among staff disrupted the tranquility expected in such a setting. The reception area looks dated and could benefit from an upgrade.Dining Room and Ambiance:The dining room ambiance has diminished over the years and needs a revamp, including improved buffet presentation.Fly fans in the dining area would be a welcome addition to maintain hygiene.Staff Training:Housekeeping and general staff need training to maintain silence and professionalism throughout the hotel.Spa staff should be better equipped to explain the products they sell.
Lovely spa. Food from the onsite restaurant was amazing. Sitting by the pool and relaxing was really good.
It was spacious and the furniture was beautiful except for the blue mask above the bed
The blue face mask above the bed
The serene environment and location…You wouldn’t think you are in the middle of the city! Nice hidden gem.
The carpets are a bit old… maybe change the old ones jn some of the spaces .
The room was clean and very spacious.
Breakfast service was shockingly poor.
Serenity Beautiful gardens Decor
Spa closes too early
It’s serene. Clean. Ambience
The location of my room. Noisy
The fact that I forget, I forget I am in GP, I love the Gardens and high walls.
Having to pay for the hotel Shuttle after paying so much money for accommodation, at least , you should give this service for free but ofcoz for certain KM radius.
We loved the decor and beautiful gardens Comfortable bed.We loved the way the Reception staff welcomed us ( made us feel welcomed)My husband loved the way they accommodated the smokers.Clean and private smoking areas
The service from the restaurant was not up to standard. No waitress to assist We had to ask for menus. Get the salt and pepper ourself Get up and ask for assistance as we felt forgotten
