Hotel decor is tastefully reflective of the African culture. Excellent cuisine. Yet what really stands out is the thorough attentive treatment from staff. They truly go above and beyond in caring for guests. Manager Shepherd's attentiveness was superb!

No gym I'm hotel. Costs Zar 270 to use a third party gym. How can this be a 5 star hotel? Breakfast is usd 20 per head. Pretty average. Felt cramped for space in a superior room

The staff was INCREDIBLE. Certainly, some of the best Marriott hotel staff I've experienced--and I used to work for the company. Their hospitality was impeccable, and they truly live and practice Marriott's ethos of the staff taking care of customers.

The room was a bit run down. The guest rooms could certainly use some renovations and updates.

Breakfast was good, service was excellent

First Room the toilet was broken, took staff approximately 40 min to decide to move us to another room. Was a late check in and early check out this made our stay very short.

10am check out is just WRONG! Also can’t get Marriott Bonvoy points when booked through Booking.cô

Amazing breakfast and staff were wonderful.

The bathroom leads directly on from the room, it would be good to be able to be a bit private but not terrible.

Shepherd was amazing, Peter was very helpful when we arrived and the staff were always very accommodating and we will definitely be back to stay here again.

I replied saying I didn’t want the change and received a confirmation email for my stay at African Pride.To my surprise, when I arrived at the hotel, my reservation had been made at the Marriott. The supervisor promptly said that the content of the email had come from Booking.com, not from them — and that they were fully booked. That’s not accurate, as the email was sent by them.After a good 20 minutes standing there, they eventually sorted it out, and I stayed at African Pride.My conclusion is that they tried to take me for a ride, and if I hadn’t insisted, I would have ended up at a hotel that is inferior to the one I originally booked. The email I received was misleading, saying they would keep the same rates (really? The Marriott costs less), and when I got to the hotel, they initially insisted I should go to the Marriott.Was my stay good? Yes, it was — but this experience I can’t forgive.

Friendly staff wiling to help and go beyond the call of duty.

It took time to make us the bed on the 13th March, the stuff in the bathroom was not refilled , the two small towels were not brought every day and the chocolate was not always brought every evening, bad experience in switching the rooms when we extended the stay on the 14th. No points rewards earned and no discounts of 20% in the restaurants even though the message on the TV with QR code promised that .

The view from the room, the beautiful rooms and the bathtub was gorgeous.

The location is ideal for a safe and convenient stay. The facilities are great and the rooms and beds are super comfy.

From the moment we were dropped off in front of the hotel until we left, we felt very well cared for. Staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Shepherd at the front desk was extremely helpful in getting us an early check-in and assisting when our ore-paid shuttle to the airport did not arrive on time. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! The location is perfect - an easy walk to lots of restaurants and shops. My 89 year old Dad decided to buy some cigars and staff walked with him to a cigar shop. He was confused by the exchange rate and bought 10 cigars at $10 each. After realizing what he had done, he went to the front desk for help. They called the shop to try to get him a refund but he had smoked one of the cigars already and they would not take the rest back.

The room is impractical. The way the shower door opens.All the cleaning liquids are fastened and difficult to use.

This is an excellent hotel ... very original design in a good location. The rooms are really nice and the breakfast is excellent. But what makes it really special are the staff who are all incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The spa (which isn't part of the hotel but is affiliated to it) is very nice and the massage was good, but they really try to push product onto you in a somewhat underhand way.

Perfect location close to major highways and shopping malls.

Hotel should negotiate for parking of guests. For one evening R75 for parking, there is only paid parking available. No other parking available.
