    Pros +

    • Peaceful and luxurious. Beautiful garden and pool setting. Spacious room with great amenities.
    • Their customer service was exceptional, the professionalism from the gate to each and every employee. The coordination from security alerting the front desk to assist with my luggage from my car. Such a wonderful check in and check out. The food was amazing, the room was so nice, the hotel is just beautiful.
    • Everything from pools, restaurant food ,live band and their suites perfect not forgetting how the welcomed us from parking to reception and our suites

    Cons -

    • I called to confirm about the age limit as Booking.com indicated that there was a age restriction for kids. The person at reception confirmed that no kids below 12 are allowed because the hotel is not suitable for kids safety. He said the hotel is sloppy. At the gate there was also a signage to this effect. Shocking in the morning at breakfast there was a child aged around 6 years old. When I asked at reception during my check out on the matter. I was told that during festive season children are accommodated. I then informed them that, it was false because I had called before finalizing my booking and I was told by an employee at reception that children below the age of 12 are not allowed therefore I did not come with my son who is 8 years old. Very disappointing, why the inconsistency in their application of the rules for some customers.
    • The making up of the rooms were done tooLate sometime we will come from going out to town and the rooms will be not yet done, so I decided to call reception everyday before leaving in the morning so the rooms could be done earlier.
    • Room was very cold, heat kicks in eventually but takes many hours. Bathroom had weird bad smell. Hair dryer did not work, nor did some of the lights. Door had trouble locking. Although the rooms are nicely furnished there is just a general lack of attention to detail in making sure things continue to work and are comfortable. In room dining options are very limited and take a long time. Upon ordering I was told it will be there when it will be there. For a resort that claims to support wellness and a health journey very few healthy plant based meal options are available on the menu for in room dining as well as in the restaurant. Hallway floors are made of a dark stone and have no markings for several unexpected steps, making the environment dangerous for elderly or just those not paying attention.

Location is great. The servers run around quite a lot for a small set of guests.

The team is well meaning but pretty chaotic, which leads to delays and not coming back to you like they promised. Found the bathroom sink still holding the soap water from housekeeping's room cleaning activity.

The facilities are exquisite and the food is on another level

In-room dining service was very slowWe didn't have television and Wi-Fi for most of the time

Really enjoyed my stay at Vivari Hotel, my friend and I were attending an event nearby so we decided to book here

I was quite disappointed that a Delux King Room did not come with any complimentary wine/champagne

Beautiful location, quiet and scenic. Great get away destination.

Unresponsive of the security team and communication process regarding camera footage. Drawn out process and lots of red tape.

It was okay that you could order breakfast and they could prepare what I like . It was few people which meant quicker Turn Around Time was expected however staff members were few and were expected to multitask.

Slow service due to understaffing and better planning for this time of the year can help so that the staff don’t have to mop and clean and still take orders and service customers and attend to guests arriving.

The facilities including the spa were phenomenal.

We were offered spa treatments without being told the price. The food was honestly not up to par. Please do improve that aspect; it is the greatest contributor to our bad stay

Spacious comfy rooms with all the amenities you need. Restaurant and room service food was amazing. Staff were friendly, attentive and provided excellent service throughout our stay. Gardens and pool were clean and well maintained. Definitely a 10/10 destination and I will definitely recommend and return.

The spa pricing on the website was incorrect and we received a higher quoted price for a couples package after making the booking. This issue could not be resolved timely and we had to cancel on the morning of the booking. Due process must be followed to ensure that pricing on the website is consistent with the actual price charged, as this can be perceived as false advertising.

I always go there at the end of the year because it’s away from the busy life and it’s a hidden gem

I didn’t like that they have changed they menu the breakfast I usually enjoyed was a buffet and this time around they gave us menu to choose from the services was bad the food came late we didn’t get the toast and milk up till now and on top of that I invited guest over because I spoke so highly about they breakfast and service as they are a five star.

It is a good hotel, lovely gardens. But very uncomfortable noise levels. Music on high volume from speakers in all public areas. Late into the night. NO reaction to requests to lower volume, please.

Staff are friendly, but complaints are ignored. A broken coffee machine was replaced after the 4th request.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the best part of our experience

WiFi was not working the entire 2 days of our stay and we were not allowed to enjoy any of our own wine on the grounds, had to be enjoyed in our room. Also, the room service has an R80 service fee that we didn’t know about until we ordered food and this fee does not go to the staff (would have been happy to pay if it acted as a tip).

10/10 on all fronts, a beautiful oasis and the attention to detail is next level. The staff is personable, food incredible and facilities impressive.

The location and cleanliness and scenery!!!

The restaurant waiters are not up to standard. They prefer to serve someone who speak their language and kind of avoid others!! Need training in customer services. The GYM is literally poor, treadmills not working and no cross exercises machine at least!!!!

Friendly staff, amazing food and the cleanliness

    Nothing really

    7MartinPosted on: 10-10-2024

Good food in restaurant, although the service could be faster

I wasn't happy about being emailed afterwards to be told that I didn't pay for some of the services I received and promises of a welcome bottle of wine and that for our celebration was not provided
