    Location, staff and room comfort

Catering is poor. They should consider getting a professional chef or outsource to something like Hussar Grill or Mugg and Bean

    5WenaPosted on: 4-28-2025

Breakfast had a good variety but was rather expensive if you are older and can only eat a little- should maybe have different price options.

Service in the Restaurant was very slow… had to wait an hour for a simple toasted sandwich?

    Beautiful hotel

Damp smell in the room and mildew in the shower.

    6BrianPosted on: 4-16-2025

Close to the Big Hole - which is why we stayed there.

Food was poor. We were given a special menu for a buffet - but a lot of "advertised" food was unavailable - apparently the chef just changed his mind !!!

the food was excellent, the room was comfortable. staff was friendly

couldn't use the pool as it was being serviced :( left the room in the morning after seeing staff cleaning other rooms, and after coming back hours later, the room wasn't prepared. and when we were taking a nap with a "do not disturb" sign on the door, one of the member knocked and came in despite the sign.

Hotel and stuff on reception is great. Unfortunately food in the restaurant wasn't acceptable. More then an hour waiting time for food, 20 minutes waiting time for water, wine and latte.. It was only one customer in the restaurant on my arrival. Restaurant was completely empty from guests.. Food not testy. Lamb impossible to chew, sirloin steik was asked to serve without any souses. I asked waiter to write it down in his note book. Sous arrived in top of the steik anyway..Pizzas was just terrible. Still cold in the middle shop frozen base.Bill was ZAR 1300. I would 100 % reccomend to dine in different restaurant. Another minus that whole night it was music on the reception floor. Soft playing music but great disturb for sleep. The main problem is restaurant. Brrrr.... I understand that my message won't change the situation but may be help to other guests avoid this experience.Location is great, territory is nice. Staff is nice.

    Great Location

Adjacent room was noisy, kitchen below room woke us up early in the morning.

Nothing. The experience was ruined from the moment my parents checked in.

I was charged an extra R676.70. Had I not called them out for this they would have kept this amount. I was then promised that I would get a refund on Monday and Monday has since passed. Now I am left to make follow-ups as no one is making contact with me. Over and above being charged extra, my parents were given a room with 2 single beds even though I had booked one with 2 double beds for them. I had to phone them to rectify this and they then took them to the correct room. Everything was a struggle. I am yet to receive my refund. I spent a lot of airtime phoning them to rectify their mistakes.

The location next to the “Big Hole” is perfect. The old style structure and public areas are attractive, comfortable and memorable. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk and restaurant staff were very personable and attentive.

    Bathroom lighting could be brighter.

Customer service is exceptional. Blondie (staff member) was exceptional for me, not only with me but even when she serves others. Her smile comes out natural and the energy is exceptional.

Menu is limited, there is no variety.

Almal praat Afrikaans, is vriendelik, groet mooi, is professioneel, is hartlik en behulpsaam. Kos was heerlik! Hotel is pragtig, die musiek is mooi!

Perhaps if husband and wife may have each a key to the room?

Staff, room and food were good.

The room was very nice, decor had a historic feel which I loved. Very friendly staff and the food at the restaurant was great. Will recommend

Lunch and breakfast were excellent and the location next to the Kimberley Museum was ideal for our stay.

    More shade parking necessary.
