Location and staff.

Absolutely beautiful vintage hotel overlooking the port of Valparaiso - exquisite interior furnishings, colorful and original antique furniture and artwork. Loved every minute of my stay here! Delicious complimentary breakfast was also a big plus!

Unfortunately - as a vintage hotel, there is no elevator and the third floor balcony has an excellent view & ambience!

Our room had a gorgeous view and balcony that overlooked the sea. The staff was great and very helpful at booking a spot for our car and giving directions. The breakfast was quite nice and the wifi worked well. Bed was firm but comfortable.

While the balcony was nice I anticipated it being a bit more private, a larger divider between the private balcony and public balcony would have been nice.

Small room with floors that creaked loudly with every step.

The location was excellent, the staff was welcoming and helpful, and the view was absolutely incredible. 10/10, would definitely recommend :)

Latin was our mother hen and took care of us so well. If you like modern and sleek, don’t stay here. It is a well preserved home with floors that squeak and smells like wood. Brought back great memories for me!

The location was wonderful - lots of great restaurants in the area as well as being walking distance to the historic areas of Valparaíso. (Some people may find the hilly terrain to be challenging.) The staff was excellent - especially Melilssa, Helen and Pablo. The breakfast is one of the best I have had! But the best thing about Hotel Boutique Acontraluz is the hotel building itself. Built in 1893 it has been wonderfully restored from two former residences. The Interior is open and friendly with lots of sitting areas (including an area with a grand piano and a guitar that guests may use). The balconies on the first and third floors offer wonderful views of the bay and shipyards. I will probably plan a return trip to Valparaíso just to stay again!

After a long day of walking the city it was a bit of a challenge to walk up the steps and streets.

Everything. The balcony views, the friendly and super helpful staff, the amazing breakfasts and the beautiful facilities all made for an exceptional stay in Valparaiso. Lots of great restaurants near the hotel. Thank you so much.

The location is in such a beautiful neighbourhood. The building is a beautiful, wooden, large and yet still super cozy. You can enjoy different all really great views from different parts of the hotel. The staff are absolutely wonderful! Always attentive and very kind. Thank you especially to Karin.

The view from the room and public areas were fantastic. The location, staff, and breakfast were very good.

The toilet could use some repair and it was awkward putting tissue in waste basket.

Pablo and his team were sincere and helpful, regularly checking in to make sure I have everything I need, making astute recommendations when I ask for a local guide and restaurant.

Amazing sea view. I recommend the rooms with sea view. Very friendly staff. The breakfast served is good enough and served in a very well organized and clean rooms or terrace if sunny. You are attended soon and receive as much as you ask for coffee or breads.

They have no proprietary parking, so parking outside is required. It is safe, but at times have to park some meters away.

Beautiful old mansion, beautifully restored with tons of character. It’s spacious, filled with light, has gorgeous views over the bay, and is surrounded by flowering trees. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely.

The veranda needs some maintenance.

Loved its old world charm and genuine, lovely staff. Tea/coffee always available and staff great at organising secure parking.

Bring old, you could hear the creaky floorboards in the room above.

Beautiful boutique in a great location with nice views

If you have never been to this part of Valparaíso, it is a jewel to experience!

Our seaview room with balcony had a spectacular view. Rooms and common area very spacious and clean. Hotel staff was attentive,extremely helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended!
