    Pros +

    • Breakfast was great and had wonderful variety of goodies. Ann-Louise was an excellent host and provided us with many suggestions and recommendations. We only wish we had known more because we would have stayed longer and explored the area.
    • Beautiful location! Adorable rooms! Owner was very communicative in the lead up to our visit as I had a few questions. Very friendly staff on-site who gave us many recommendations for the rest of our journey to Stockholm. This would be the perfect place to disconnect for a few days in any season!
    • Nice waterside location and very service minded staff. 30 min from Jönköping and much more relaxing and cheaper than staying in Jönköping. There are no shops nearby. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was good, but a bit expensive.

    Cons -

    • That we didnt spend another day and night.
    • Truly there is nothing negative, The only thing I would say is i didn’t find the bed to be very comfortable but that could be personal choice. The bathroom was also small so I could see that being tough for an extended stay. May not be the same in all rooms.
    • Room was as basic as could, be but when compared to the price, it was comfortable enough.

Beautiful, peaceful location. The clean, quaint room had everything we needed and wanted, even a small fan. Very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The dinner was excellent.

Very good actual restaurant. The atmosphere in the communal spaces, garden, restaurant, lobby, beach and terrace was 10/10.

Room was as basic as could, be but when compared to the price, it was comfortable enough.

I loved the locations, the staff, the food,...nature everything! Lots of nature to explore and tourist sites to visit. The breakfast that was included was amazing. We also hosted a last-minute dinner for friends and family, +10 people. The experience was great, the employees were lovely and accommodating, and the food was amazing! A night to remember!

    nothing really

One of the nicest places ever. The location is amazing, the hotel is a lovely old building. Room was small but cozy and clean. Food was great, they use a lot of local and fresh products, food was very tasteful and there were 3 alternatives for vegetarians.Dogs are welcome, which was really nice.Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely come again!

Of course an old house is not equipped with huge bathrooms or other amenities, but we did not care or expect any, there was nothing we did not like.

    Great location and friendly staff

The room was a bit warm and opening the window brings mosquitos in. Perhaps a mosquitow net / window frame?

EVERYTHING. Immaculate, beautiful stuga, best dinner we’ve eaten in Sweden, wood-fired sauna by the lake; the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Our 2nd stay over 8 years.

    Nothing!

This picturesque hotel is a must-go when you drive through Sweden. The owners are the most warm-hearted, and the cabin in which we stayed, melted our hearts by the cozyness. The village is quite small, but when looking for a superb place to recharge yourself, visit Smålandsgården.

    10RichardPosted on: 6-13-2024

I had the feeling I was staying in a mountain lodge by a lake far up in the Swedish high country. Beautiful setting with good food and drinks in the restaurant.

Smålandsgarden is a stunning place, situated right at a lake and with a very calm atmosphere. The room is decorated in a simple Scandinavian way. There's no TV set which somehow adds to the tranquillity though. Breakfast and dinner were both good, too. Everything at a reasonable price by Swedish standards. Staff has been very friendly.

Own beach, absolutely quiet location, large hotel area with sunbeds, many different seating areas outside, wonderful host

    all perfect

Very nice location next to lake and Gränna. Clean, peaceful and cosy room. Lovely breakfast. Friendful staff. Free local parking. Good beds and billows. It would have been also opportunity to swim - and even book the sauna.

Television to watch the news would have been nice

    9ShrutiPosted on: 1-22-2024

Location and place was great. Well maintained property

The enclosed patio was very cold to be used in winter. TV can be made available

Absolutely beautiful surroundings.Amazing, looks like a postcard.

Unfortunately the place needs a lot of work. It's pretty clean despite lack of new furnishings. The bathroom could be a little cleaner, and may benefit from a proper shower tray.I suppose it's a work in progress.

    10OlePosted on: 10-10-2023

We really loved the place more than expected. It was just an overnight stay on our way to Aland but we will defintely come back for a longer stay. The room was cosy, the whole property is made with taste and a big heart! Very nice breakfast and dinner in a kind of family environment. My partner asked for some veggie Dinner and without eye rolling or discussion she got a tasty meal as well. Nothing what we missed. Next time we will try the sauna and hot tub and maybe have a swim in the lake! The Place is like a photo calendar dream!
