Thon Hotel Halden

Location along the waterfront.

The hotel has laundry service but did not complete the drying of our clothes. All were given to us in two plastic bags. When opened, all the clothes were still very damp. Had to find a dryer at our next stop to finish the clothes.

Location is the best. Close to train station.

Bathtub is kind of old times. Cleaner shower would be better.

Excellent breakfast. Available tea, coffee and little snack on the reception for the guests at any time of the day. Helpful staff. great position of the hotel.

The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. The location is convenient, close to the train station and next to the canal.

The facilities felt outdated. The room key often malfunctioned, even after being replaced, and there were noticeable scratches and dents in the bathroom and room. Additionally, my room faced a dark, uninviting interior courtyard. The first night, the room took hours to warm up, despite the heater being on full.

Rooms are quite small and lack decorations, the view is not so good for most of them (windows facing each others), parking is not free, very small blankets

The friendly staff always willing to help. I thoroughly enjoyed the views of the harbour from the restaurant and the buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful

The electronic key card kept getting demagnetised by being in close proximity to my mobile phone which resulted in several return trips to reception to get it reset each evening on my return to the hotel. It

The breakfast was good. Hot food was in cast iron pots, and the lids are heavy to remove. There isn't adequate space to place the lid while self serving the food. The hotel location is in the center, which has its good and bad aspects. Halden has many loud cars and motorcycles, so if you are staying there in the summer, your windows are open and the noise can be disturbing. During our last night, music from the anchored boats was blaring at 3 am.

1. The desk space in our room was inadequate; laptop tables in the lobby were inadequate and located poorly;2. We usually took the stairway to our floor. The light sensors regularly would not detect our presence, so the floor would remain very dark;3. I had to unplug the lamp on my side of the bed in order to plug in my converter to charge my electronic devices;4. We only had one key card, and it was needed to turn on the power to the room. If one of us left the room, we couldn't reenter without knocking and waking the other person.

Absolutely not recommended. Staff is mean and condescending. The restaurant staff were amazing, nice and friendly but the front disk was not very much. The rooms are not cleaned well. One of our towels had lots of dirty stains on them. Do not think I will be coming back

Location was perfect. Lovely hotel and staff lovely. Views of the harbour and fort fantastic. Very central for restaurants and bars.

Car Parking. It cost roughly £25 per night to park the car. 500 NOK from Friday afternoon to the Sunday morning.

Well positioned clean friendly

This is a wonderful little hotel in a beautiful location. Staff was great, the breakfasts were sumptuous with every food imagineable. It's al conveniently located about an eas two-block walk from the train station.

The room was a bit small but the view of the harbor and the fortress more than made up for it.

Decent breakfast, very central and easy to get to, quiet when the windows were closed.

No room cleaning while we stayed there, uncomfortable bed, low tier quality shower soap and no bathroom necessities. Nothing that said they were really trying beyond the bare minimum on decor, service or food.

The accessibility is good , the service is good. A friendly team, a good restaurant.

The internet connection (wifi) was not good. I mostly used 5G to be able to work efficiently.

Exceptional location with wonderful views and few minutes walk to train station. Excellent, friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast and 24hr access to coffee machine included in room booking. Highly recommend the hotel restaurant for evening dining.

The location was amazing and staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent choices at breakfast. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

The bathroom had a distinctly musty/moldy smell to it. That was the only down side. Everything was obviously very clean but it had an "off" smell

Extraordinary breakfast and wonderful, attentive staff! The beds are comfortable, even though the rooms are nothing special otherwise, but they are meticulously clean.

While the hotel is beautifully located at the harbor, some rooms only have a view into a small backyard.

The location on the harbour edge is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and quiet.
