Dinner included was so-so

Very fun, historic hotel. Nicely renovated in lobby and restaurant. Small gym but has everything you need. Very hot sauna was a bonus (didn't try hot tub)! Central location across the street from the train station in Karlstad. Nice breakfast. Great gelato place a few doors down.

Bedrooms comfortable but could use sprucing.

A comfy hotel close to the train station. It was nice to have a fridge and kettle in the room. The included breakfast buffet was very good. Bike hire from Solsta Cykel was very convenient. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room had a low bulkhead ceiling presumably to allow plumbing or heating works, but it meant the room didn’t feel spacious as depicted in the photos. The food on offer with the included dinners was very basic. A vegetable soup, bread, some salad and a hot dish. The hot dish was a sausage stroganoff and rice one night and the next night was mince patty with gravy and roast potatoes.

Great location, excellent breakfast and dinner and a jacuzzi and sauna to chill in. Staff are all really friendly!

Big extremely picky would have loved some non spicy sausage to complement the fully awesome spread and range of foods for breakfast and the top choice for gluten and milk allergies!

We had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel due to a serious booking/payment issue. There was a technical problem between the hotel and Booking.com — the hotel claimed they couldn’t process the payment, even though the money had already been charged. We had to spend a lot of time calling Booking.com to confirm the payment, and even after Booking confirmed everything was fine, the hotel still refused to check us in at first. They tried to shift the responsibility onto us, which was completely unfair since the payment was made. This situation wasted a lot of our time and ruined the start of our stay.

Not clean in the rooms, poor decoration, sad dining room and breakfast room.

The room and bed were extremely clean and comfortable and all the food we had as part of the half board was delicious. The reception was very helpful and gave us advice on local transport. Highly recommended.

Perfect location for a couple of days in Karlsrad. 5 minutes walks from the train station and the same from the city center. Good beds. Home-made pie for fika in the afternoon and good breakfast.

The lack of a wardrobe. It's just a really small place for hangers. Dinner is included, but half of the dinner buffet was the same every evening.

Rude girl at reception, I haven't been so unwelcome at a hotel in a long time. The hotel doesn't have parking. They offer to park the car in the shopping center, they don't know how much it will cost, they can't write a bill for parking. Any advantages of the hotel are offset by poor service. The place where breakfast and dinner are held is very hot, sitting is torture.I asked them to send me the invoice by email, but they didn't do it. I had to remind them several times when I got home.

Comfortable, homey, clean. Good location for transitioning along the road to Oslo. Very good breakfast buffet with the best assortment of breads. And a local homey dinner buffet to boot!Well worth it.

We hit fairly hot weather here, so the AC had a hard time keeping up. That's about the only thing.

The suite was beautiful, light and spacious. Great for 3 of the family to stay in. Dinner was delicious with lots of veggie options. The historic lift added to the atmosphere.

Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet was included.The sauna and jacuzzi were a pleasant surprise.On walking distance of all the highlights.Highly recommended.

Perfect location for us just across the road from the railway station. Spacious room with two armchairs. Great breakfast and dinner included in the price. Really friendly staff. Comfortable bar and lounge for a drink.
