    Pros +

    • Really nice retro design, beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. Kid-friendly, including the spa at select times of the day.
    • The restaurant is out of this world, especially the dinner buffet. Absolutely love this place. Rooms are getting slightly worn but the lobby and facilities are amazing. Breakfast fantastic
    • Cleanliness, great breakfast, very nice location.

    Cons -

    • For a hotel that markets itself on gastronomy, the food for dinner was disappointing and overpriced. The barley risotto I had was undercooked and did not come with bok choi as advertised. I could buy much better barley risotto from Grød at the supermarket to heat up at home (for 40 kr instead of 229 kr). The fish sold out unfortunately. Most mains are 375-475 so quality should be okay. Breakfast was excellent though.
    • Rooms are very boring and spa could do a refresh to make it little more exclusive. Also very expensive to bring a dog and prices have gone up since the year before.
    • I can’t think of anything!

Nice hotel overall, breakfast was very good, room was comfortable, swimming pool was good, tennis courts were a bonus. Food from the bar was limited and the burger was very basic.

The setting in the forest with wonderful fjord views is immediately very relaxing. Great amenities like swimming pool, krolf and tennis court. Very good breakfast. The style and elegance of the hotel. Nice refreshing water on offer as soon as you enter the hotel.

    I can’t think of anything!

What we appreciated was the view, and the dinner (though very expensive) was excellent. The breakfast is truly phenomenal.

There's a weird odour in the hallway, the closer we got to our room, the more it felt like a sauna (and this is not an exaggeration, but truly, it was super humid and hot, as if we were entering a pool/sauna area). We opened the windows, which, in proximity to water and with all the insects, is uncomfortable, but it was the lesser evil. We travel with dog and we pay extra for the dog (for extra cleaning) but I still expect to get a clean room. Someone sprayed a scent in our bathroom, but that was it. I found hair and paper on the carpet, the room was definitely not clean, which is upsetting, especially considering the price range. While the entrance hall and the restaurant are alright when it comes to decor, the hallway and our room looked like they had not been updated since the 1960s or 70s - the pictures looked more up to date and cleaner. The following is not the hotel's fault but maybe sheds light on some of the guests they attract: when walking our dog before dinner, we came across two men in the car lot, who were urinating right next to the car before heading towards the hotel casino - where there would be restrooms, I assume. It was very off-putting and considering all the cameras installed everywhere, I'd have assumed someone to show up and usher them away...

    Hotel needs renovation, as soon...

Very old hotel, last renovation maybe in 80th, no air conditioning, always smells from the kitchen. I would not say that breakfast was bad, but it was not good either—nothing for kids I would say.

Nothing special. Spa zone is ok, but just basic, sauna didn't work at all.

Rooms outdated, bad value for money

    LocationBreakfastThe surroundings and the hotel

The rooms are a bit outdated and there seems to be a discrepancy between the rooms and the hotel in ifself

Love the location, fjord, golf, nature, close to Legoland and the beach

A little busy around the buffet, great quality!

Perfect location in a forrest with great views towards the Velje fjord. Nice furniture (old danish design classics). Decent sized rooms with comfy beds. Great breakfast. Lots of EV-chargers at the parking spot.

The breakfast was very good, so much variety and good quality food. The same goes to the bar where we had dinner and special thanks to the staff member there Kenneth who was very friendly and attentive to us.

Although rooms very good and clean they looked outdated. My mattress was not comfortable

    Room was very hot.

The hotal has an amazing architecture from the 70s I guess. So many great details in it. The dinner was also fantastic. I had Gravad Lax and they prepared it at the dish. Truely fabulous.

The rooms are quite small and outdated, but that is to be expected in an 70s hotel.

Very nice hotel located in the woods outside of the city... Big clean room, comfy bed, friendly staff, large private parking lot, good selection for the breakfast...

Heavy smell of the chlorine in the corridors near the room... messages from the hotel in Danish language only...

    7StevePosted on: 6-11-2025

Location suited as we were flying out of Billund the next day

The main restaurant was disappointing and expensive for the very average dinner we were served. The meal was over cooked and portion size too large, definitely not up to the standard of the rest of the property.

    10MatsPosted on: 6-4-2025

Still the best hotel in Jutland. A comfortable, practical and quiet hotel in beautiful surroundings. Free parking. Fast wifi. Good beds. Nice bathrooms. Very nice spa area and indoor pool. Enjoy a fantastic breakfast and a fantastic view. Great choice for couples as well as families.

If the weather is hot you may want a room with a fridge. Nothing else to complain about. If you don't want to eat in the hotel (they have very good food), you should plan where to eat in advance. There are some good restaurants in Vejle. For pasta, try Toscana. For sushi, try Atami.

Wonderful location on the top of Munkebjerg hill (95m), surrounded by forest and with a nice view frrom the breakfast area and outdoor terraces, towards Vejle Fjord. I had a lovely superior room with balcony. The breakfast was really good. Great variety.

Nothing really. Despite the fact that some rooms may look like something from the 70,s or 80,s, it just have this cozy feel to it. It would have been nice with a nespresso machine , instead of the classic tea- and coffee facilities!. It IS however a 4 star hotel.
