    Pros +

    • Good for short stay
    • A traditional hotel at the main square, but still an acceptable value-for-money
    • Excellent central location. Quick and friendly check-in

    Cons -

    • Hard to find with car, tricky to get into parking space.
    • The whole hotel is a bit "worn out", rooms are a bit small, bathrooms are "basic" (just a small sachet with shampoo - don't forget to bring your own!), breakfast is a bit basic --- they are a bit behind what is nowadays considered "standard", but also the price usually reflects the standard of this hotel (compared to competing properties in Silkeborg)
    • Old style hotel which is still working with pieces of soap and a little sachet if shampoo - would recommend to bring your own shampoo etc.

Beautiful building, centrally situated in the city, a warm room and nice staff.

The noise early in the morning, at 05.00 - 05.30. The very small elevator. The stone stair entrance to the hotel. The room not being vacuumed every day. Very bad coffee (disgusting actually) with my breakfast. The breakfast not being included in the room price.

    Good beds.

To old fashion. No aircondition. Low quality on breakfast.

Great location. Quiet and comfortable room overlooking the lake. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

Location service At a high level clean and Tasty breakfasts

The smell in the toilet just left the ventilation on and it was ok

The location was good, central in Silkeborg. The historic building of the hotel and some of the decors and furniture used to make it more cozy.

Noisy room where you could hear people in the hallway and outside, limited supplies of soap and shampoo, breakfast buffet was ok but coffee was not good and their machine could provide a much better coffee. Coffee and tea in the room was not available freely, but only upon request to the reception.

The staff are so friendly and the décor was fabulous. the hall ways and lobby were great, the rooms were a looked great but the beds were creaky, but once asleep the beds were very comfy.

The bed's were creaky and the bathrooms a little basic.

From the outset it seems like a great hotel, but inside it reminds us of Hotel Transylvania. We were expecting danish hospitality from a local hotel but discovered an Eastern European service that reminded us of a visit to Warsaw 3 years ago.

Great location. Breakfasts were plentiful. Staff assistance was excellent.

    7RobynPosted on: 9-11-2023

Lovely old hotel, very helpful and friendly staff, generous breakfast.

No kettle, cups, glasses, tea & coffee sachets in hotel room.

The location of the hotel is excellent (in the center of the city). Lots of restaurants nearby. Quiet and comfortable.

Lack of more power points in the room. Narrow staircase to access the restaurant.

Fantastic right in the centre of the town square

The bath mat was changed every day but the towels were not during our four days there

    Rent, flink personale, god morgenmad.

    8PerPosted on: 6-2-2023

Breakfast was good, not excellent. Not so many choices of cheese and bread, no Danish..

My room window was located towards an outside staircase where spme workers met and spoke were loudly at 07.00 in the morning.

    The location in the City

First of all my internal alarm should have told me to back of from the review already written about the hotel. The description about the hotelroom said that it had a shower or a bathtub and a box to tick of if we wanted single or dubbel bed. I ticked of the dubbel bed and wrote to the hotel "if possible we would appreciate a room with a bathtub. I got an answer back that if we wanted a bathtub they could upgrade me for an extra cost of aprox. 80 euro!2 times we were contacted by the hotel, just to hear when we planned on arriving. We checked in and got presented by an additional fee of 6,5 euro due to extra cost because of the energy crises. Shouldnt this just have been included in the room price? We got to the room on the 3rd floor, which had two singlebeds and was NOT of the standard and size that the desciption at Booking.com promised. I went back to the reception and told the staff that we had gotten the wrong room, and was explained a lot of explanations. Finally after minuttes of discussing the receptionist told me that they had a big travelgroup comming and they hadnt got any other rooms available but maybe he could change something. Finally we got a better room (the room that we ordered from the description at Booking.com).So please arm yourself with patience and prepare for an additional expense than what is promised through Booking.com

(We got moved up to the Brudesuite) Nice room with very good sound insulation to the outside. Newly renovated bathroom with a nice size. Nice sofa chairs.

Cleaning could be better. The tables were dusty and the bathroom floor had simply not been cleaned. The staff apologised and came to clean (it turns out a plumber came after the bathroom had been cleaned, and the floor hadn't been checked again). It was more an oversight than a sign of bad cleaning.Bowls for breakfast were not fully clean. I could visibly see dried out rests at the bottom, so I didn't use them.

very old and not up to date. the room was non smoking but it smelled like there had been smoking in the past which was disgusting.
