Pros +
- Upscale hotel in a quaint Cornwall town.
- Our room, our view, the balcony. We enjoyed the sauna, pool, restaurant, and beautiful view from the restaurant.
- Loved the pool and steam. The bed was super comfortable and window opened. All the staff were excellent! Especially in the dining room and front desk.
Cons -
- All good.
- For me, it was too high on a hill and away from the beach. The room was too hot. The shower had only a square shower head which soaks hair. As a woman I don’t want to get my hair wet every time.
- Nothing would come under the 'didn't like' category.
Upscale hotel in a quaint Cornwall town.

Beautiful view of the beach out onto the Celtic Sea. Quiet location and only a short 15 minute walk into town. The pool / sauna was great, well maintained and fairly quiet. Staff were very helpful and smiley. Breakfasts were good, and the dining room also had fabulous views. We didn't eat dinner but had a lovely cream scone and tea in the afternoon and that was on the money.
Nothing would come under the 'didn't like' category.
We stayed in the Family Sea View and having a separate room for the children was excellent.
Bathroom fixings were not great. Access to the swimming pool with children was too limited. In the end, we could not take the children down (11 and 13 years old) to use it.
Lovely views, comfy bed and covers, wonderful staff, very nice spa pool sauna hot tub and terrace , Parking NO issue - the staff kindly parked our car and brought it to us.Excellent service, friendly and helpful.Drinks on the terrace were lovely
Food was nice not amazing (cheese soufflé was delicious!) But helpful staff made all the difference
Excellent value with the use of the pool and spa facilities as well. Modern room. Staff very professional and friendly
Air con or fans in the room
Beautiful view and location.Comfortable bed and linensNice amenities- gin, etc.Nice breakfast
Easier car parking would have been helpful
The location is wonderful. The staff is friendly. The room is decorated nicely.
It states breakfast is included, however you must pay for a hot breakfast.
We were upgraded to suite 115. Lovely, though with strange olde worlde chests which were no use to anyone. Views and terrace overlooking the sea. Spacious bathroom. Decent towels and robes.
No walk-in shower in the bathroom. Plenty of room for one. It could be a deal-breaker for some people. Breakfast buffet not very good. One choice of cheese (emmental, the most boring imaginable) and one choice of ham. We didn't try the cooked option.
Everything! Particularly the COMFORTABLE and QUIET room, and the fabulous terrace bar/resto area.
Loved everything. Pricey, but worth it if you can splurge a little.
The location and the views from the hotel were fantastic. Super friendly staff. Great recommendations for dinner and activities. Super friendly gentleman at check in. Loved the interior of the rooms.
When you wake up to a view like this - what’s not to like.
Super accessible from the train station and a super short walk into the town. Spa and gym were well equipped. Highlight of my trip was the staff and the views. Fergus who greeted me when I first arrived was so helpful and attentive and really went the extra mile to make this stay relaxed, comfortable..this felt more like pleasure than a work trip!
Nothing…everything was well thought out and I couldn’t fault it.
Fantastic view over the bay. Large room and bathroom. Good breakfast. Nice to be able to the use the Spa facilities
Asked for a quiet room, and was perfect as far as internal noise (didn’t hear other guests/staff at all), but the window wouldn’t quite close and there was a seagull’s nest on the roof about 2m away - so the very early morning squawking was not appreciated. Not having easy access to the car - having to park outside the hotel and then hotel staff driving it down to a car park ( very steep steps to get to car) and having to give notice before be able to use the car
From the very first moment to the last we couldn’t fault it. Hotel was amazing, staff could not do enough for you and the view were amazing.
The only thing I can comment on is that our room didn’t have a walk in shower. Wasn’t deal breaker, but that was the only thing that I thought would be better.I would also say that there weren’t any real options for vegans when it came to puddings.
Good location and near to train station and very beautiful view of beach from hotel and also car parking is available
Nice breakfast and lovely location
Paying additional for cooked breakfast
The view and location staff we're friendly
Seagulls nesting on chimneys outside windows disturbed sleep we appreciate it's seaside!, breakfast was poor couldn't eat my poached eggs boiled to death,to which point the waitress didn't charge me she wasn't impressed herself embarrassing.found st Ives overrated very dirty run down, lots of foreigners, but the sandy beaches looked nice
Great location with lovely views. Nice food and drinks. Calm atmosphere. Spa facilities are nice
The family room doesn’t have enough storage space for a family. Only one small wardrobe which has the fridge and safe in it, and one chest of drawers. No coat pegs or anywhere to put coats, shoes and bags.Small swimming pool. You can’t really swim in it
It’s a little outdated and could do with a refurb as carpets are stained in rooms and within the hotel. Bathrooms have cracks on tiles and bath was chipped and stained. Through out hotel walls need repainting, few plug sockets need replacing the carpets need replacing worn and stained. The bar area that goes on to the decking area needs updating furniture ripped and worn. Shame as location is beautiful but hotel needs updating.
