    • Lovely hotel with plenty of areas to sit and relax. Good choice of food in restaurant and breakfast was perfect.Disabled room on ground floor- good size and comfortable
    • Reception staff 10/10 - welcoming, patient, professional
    • Good breakfast , friendly staff

    Cons -

    • The toilet in the disabled room was very low. Maybe needs a raised seat or a fixed frame as the grab rails weren’t in the best position.
    • A wee bit remote
    • Beds really uncomfortable did'nt sleepRelaxing spa was filled with kids activities just using the pool facilities , not actually staying in the hotel great to see kids getting to use of corse but should be a times in between paying guest who have came to the hotel to relax Food in the restaurant on the evening food was not a nice as previous stays , chips served cold and quality of food not the same.In experiencee staff in restaurant as they didnt know what they had on draught as didnt have a drinks menu served beer with white substance on it which looked like bird manure on the bottle I also didnt appreciate staff member asking me if i wanted to pay the bill and get it out the way with about 10mins after finishing our desert

The Staff, pool & gym, facilities, comfy room & bed. Very good food & service.

2 hour wait for our meal on 1st night but it was very busy & they gave us a free round of drinks as an apology.

Lovely well cooked breakfast friendly staff super location and facilities.

The pool needs to be better managed. It would be good to have half if the pool for those actually wanting to swim. Parents were not great at keeping their children under check jumping in splashing a lot and standing in the middle or walking backwards into you. Perhaps one end can be just for swimmers as the pool is large and there is a slide and other areas

Breakfast was lovely the next morning great choice.

The fact that you turn up from check in time and still have to wait for your room to be ready and the fact you cant get into pool facilities as all full so have to wait again witch spoilt our night there also the steam room and sauna was a disappointment and dated. Also contacted hotel with a complaint and no one seems to want to get back to you at all but email to spend more money and you get a response straight away! Will not be recommending to freinds or family nor will we back!

Friendly staff, good food in main restaurant

Room not well cleaned, carpet especially dusty and had some small items on floor from previous occupants- hair band, sweet papers

    9JackiePosted on: 2-20-2026

Great staff, lovely decor and tasty food. Feature twin room large with lovely views over golf course. Worth the £20 upgrade.

Bed a little firm but just my preference

    5DarrenPosted on: 2-19-2026

The views and the room were lovely

Very young staff didn’t seem to know much at reception about the hotel or its services and even prices

This was our 8th visit to Slaley Hall with the kids and our dog ! Great for families! Amazing that they have created another dining space so as eat with your dog !!

The sunbed rules are never enforced around the pool - people leave their towels on to then go for spa treatments or lunches - but most of us with kids are only there for an hour or so and during this time nobody was using them !

The 3 course evening meal was good.

We had to wait half an hour to check in as it was too busy. We had to wait 15 mins for breakfast in a queue. Not as good as our Xmas visit !!

    6DavidPosted on: 2-15-2026

    Nice area and room

There was a couple that carried on for around 3/4 hours shouting and swearing calling the staff

    8JoePosted on: 2-15-2026

Comfortable spacious rooms and made feel welcome

The food we had at the meal was poor and felt expensive. My fiances chicken breast was very dry and was not worth the money paid

    5JuliaPosted on: 2-15-2026

Nice location. Good breakfast. Room well cleaned.

Evening meal disappointing (cold burger undercooked thick cut chips). Verging on rude bar staff.

    6EmmaPosted on: 2-15-2026

Loved the room and the food was lovely,

Staff at the spa were rude and not accommodating this really ruined our stay.

    6JamiePosted on: 2-15-2026

The beds were very comfortable and the spa facilities were really nice, the bar area was lovely and the food was good too.

Very rowdy guests who were upsetting a few people with how loud they were and things they were saying

    2ToniPosted on: 2-11-2026

Bed was comfy even though it was two singles pushed together

Multiple things firstly no robes provided unless spa treatments Drinks were extortionate and wait time for them at the bar also Food was not worth the price I ordered a £40 steak for it to be served overdone with what I would assume were frozen chips not worth the money at all As we let the water out in bath a load of dirty muck and rust came into water from plug disgusting Towel heating rail not working so we couldn’t dry our swimwear to use facilities next morning spend around £350 or more in total at the stay and defo not worth the money
