The hotel was great. Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable beds, and a nice quiet stay. Dinner was fantastic, breakfast was great, and the location was perfect for our needs. There is a small convenience store directly across the street so you can stock-up before heading out for the day. If you are visiting Lindisfarne or Bamburgh, this is the hotel for you.
Nothing stands out as a negative for this hotel.
Good sized room. Nice bathroom. Good food and service
Our room was directly above the bar that was supposed to close at 11 pm. Noise didn’t end until 12:30 am
We were in room 4, with 2 twins put together to make a large double and the beds were so comfortable, I'd love to know what mattress it was. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The full cooked breakfast was very good and obviously used good quality bacon. There was a selection of boxed cereals, orange/apple juice, bananas and yogurt and cooked options of full breakfast, scrambled eggs on toast, scrambled egg and salmon on toast and one other, I can't remember. It's unusual to find places where breakfast was included so that was a definite bonus and set us up well for the rest of the day. We ate our evening meal there one night and that was also good. The heating was very efficient -almost too efficient and we couldn't get it to come on during the day.
The only thing in the room, was the shower, it was an electric shower with very little water pressure and made having a shower a bit of a chore. One of the staff did say they are planning on re-doing the bathrooms so maybe that will be improved. The only other thing, and this is just personal preference, is that there was nothing special about the sliced bread used for toast for breakfast, it was just normal medium, sliced bread - thicker toastie bread would be nice or freshly baked, sliced bread. On the other hand when we asked for more white toast for my wife, this was not an issue and rather than saying they had run out of white bread, the chef nipped to the shop across the road and bought some more.
Lovely inn, perfect for our early start to Holy Island. Beds comfortable, and one of the nicest bathrooms we'd seen.
A little noisy until the bar closes at 11pm but easy to put up with.
Clean, Comfortable 5 star breakfast and friendly and helpful staff
It was very fresh and clean . It had a pleasant atmosphere. Very impressed byThe quality of the breakfast
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff picked us up from the coast and dropped us back off. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough. Food was fab
The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast.
Tea and coffee in the room was nice. A small bottle of water would have been nice.
Gorgeous location in a reallt quiet village but 5 minutes off the A1. Really friendly staff, immaculate rooms and really good food!
Breakfast was really nice, tailored to what you wanted and all cooked fresh.
Evening menu was very limited.
A quiet overnight stay with good facilities. Perfect on ground floor. Pet friendly.
Clean comfortable room, good bar food, great quiet situation just off A1
Great little country pub with accommodation. Our room was spacious and warm, and the meal was well cooked and a good sized portion. A good choice of breakfast was offered. Great value for money.
Staff friendly, price was good value, breakfast was good
Cleanliness - evidence of damp in room, cups from prevous night not cleaned, towels and bed not madeDinner was adequate first night but very disappointed to learn that no food available second night (at least Bluck bull Inn nearby was much better), 3rd night very disappointing. Friday night not enough staff resulted in interminable wait 1 hour 10 minutes order to delivery, food choice was advised as not available after 30 minutes and subsequent food was overcooked. Front of house single member memebr of staff did her best, friday night covering public bar, takeway service and restaurant is really not enough and let down by kitchen supply
Cosy, lovely food. Beds comfy. Lovely new bathroom.
The one and only suggestion I have, this is not something I didn’t like, but a small shelf in the shower of room 2 to put shower gel on would be handy. Difficult for someone with mobility issues to bend down and pick things off the shower floor.
Staff friendly and helpfulFood nice although fish a little over cookedRoom was great loved the setteeClean comfortable slept well
As I said fish was lovely but the batter over cooked
