Pros +
- Nice clean accommodation.
- Breakfast was great, and staff were kind and helpful when it came to little requests, like leaving a bag after checkout, or having breakfast slightly earlier. Would definitely recommend!
- The breakfast is amazing. The kindness of the staff is amazing. I would definitely stay again. Being just before Easter the price was not exactly low but it was definitely worth it. Highly recommended!
Cons -
- Food and drink a little on the pricey side. Inconsistent quality and quantity of breakfasts,it seems it depends on who cooks it and who serves it!
- Nothing. It was all perfect.
- The Shepherd's Hut was beautiful but showing a few signs of wear and tear. The decking could do with a clean and woodwork touching up.

Fabulous well cooked breakfast in a lovely environment. Staff so friendly and helpful. Evening meals were exceptional.

Owners really nice Great breakfast Clean and comfortable
Enhanced by stunning weather my first stay in a Shepherds Hut at The Plough was a great experience. The location is stunning and despite being in a holiday period, very peaceful. The hut itself is very comfortable and well equipped, the bathroom facilities excellent. Plenty of hot water and fabulous toiletries.Dinner and breakfast at the Plough were the usual high standard.A very cosy space with the wood burning stove creating an idyllic stay.
The shepherd's hut was clean and well equipped and warm.
Really lovely clean spacious ground floor room with en-suite, situated in a separate annex to the main building. Beautiful surroundings. Excellent food. Staff very welcoming. Really enjoyable stay ?
Lovely Inn. Very clean accomodation. Excellent breakfast. Lovely staff and good service.
There was nothing to dislike.
I stayed in one of the shepherd’s huts with my pup - it had everything we needed for an overnight stay, was quiet at night, and the breakfast was lovely.
The breakfast was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were amazed at the detail and cont of the Shepard’s hut so clever.
We could of stayed longer
Freedom to come and go and have family visit.
Perhaps the car park, with bags, was a bit if a track for older people.
excellent breakfast cosy and comfy shed accomadation
Quiet location, super comfy bed and very good breakfast choice.
Very comfortable room, warm, excellent facilities, beautiful location, staff very friendly and helpful
Everything, friendly staff, service, politeness of all staff, just an excellent stay and would definitely go again. The food was also enjoyable and hot, good menu available.
Fabulous place to stay, and the food was delicious, very friendly and kind staff. I would definitely recommend The Plough Inn to my friends and family.
I had no expectations. The greeting, the room, the breakfast, the friendliness of all staff from owner to cleaner, the evening meal on the following night, the ale, allowing my car to remain in the car park all day. Everything superb; deffo on my ‘should return’ list.
Nothing I didn’t like, at all!!
Room was small but very clean and comfortable. Shower was nice and powerful and the staff were lovely. Food was very good and a 15 min walk in to Hathersage.
The pillows were a bit flat / soft but that’s personal preference.
B'fast was excellent - room was superb - good wifi and a quiet location.
Cracked tea cup which leaked. Ordered mushroom tortellini for tea, received linguini which wasn't on the menu. Waitress told me i was incorrect. Asked manager when i checked out the following morning and staff were aware it had run out but failed to inform me when I ordered. Would have preferred what i'd ordered to be honest..... maybe I should be a more demanding customer.
