We loved this place,we have just recently returned from the plum and partridge on Sunday 21st April 2025,we stayed for 1 night with our four legged friend. We did get here earlier than we planned so we had some something to eat while we were waiting for our room to be ready. The food was delicious with a menu that had something for everyone, the weather was very warm and sunny which made sitting out front in the little seating area extra special,it was so quite and peaceful. The room we had was very tidy and clean, bed was comfortable and the breakfast next morning was very good too. Will definitely be coming back here again probably in the near future.
To be honest I couldn't find anything to fault this place on.
Beautifully decorated hotel in the countryside. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Staff was kind and professional.
The shower valve was outside the shower; tricky to operate while showering.
Great village , accommodation looked great , very tasteful but for room problems , great staff.
Room appeared great but sat on bed and nearly broke my spine mattress worn out and or poor quality. Broken tiles on bathroom floor , bath cold tap broken impossible to run . No light at any mirror for contacts , makeup ect .
Very welcoming team, fabulous food (highly recommend fish & chips), great wine list. Exceptionally clean. Lovely location, it’s our second visit & we’ll definitely be back.
Fabulous room with a great comfy bed and all the extra little details of home comforts. Loved the decor and furnishings throughout the hotel. Lovely friendly staff who were always helpful and welcoming. Good value for money.
Our room was very comfortable with an excellent shower. The evening meal was tasty and well presented. Personally, I would have liked fruit at breakfast.
Breakfast was lovely room was nice
Food for the evening meal my husband fish was overcooked and the curry sauce overpowered the dish my food was ok
It had a modern country feel, with stunning decor and beautiful rooms! The staff were so friendly and our food was amazing! It was my Dads 3rd Year anniversary of his passing and it was my annual trip away with my Mum. They both used to love to just travel and find country gems to eat stay at. So every year now I find somewhere I know he would have loved and bring my Mum. So at such a sensitive time, this location was perfect and everything he would have loved.
The only thing we struggled with was getting our cases up the stairs, but other than that it was perfect!
A real gem of a find in a lovely North Yorkshire village and already thinking about planning a return visit. Room was immaculate. Food was superb. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful.
There really was nothing to dislike.
A very warm welcome on arrival. Room was lovely, very clean. It was very warm and took quite a while to cool down once we'd turned of the radiators, but the fan helped! Dinner was delicious, we were fortunate to be there for the 'around the world' menu, all cooked to perfection. Another warm welcome at breakfast time, great coffee, limited continental options but I liked that as it meant not much waste. The cooked breakfast of bacon roll and scrambled eggs on toast were also really tasty. Travelled with our dog and she was very welcomed in the restaurant, but slightly away from other guests in case they didn't like to be near dogs, which shows how the staff are considerate to everyone.
Room very warm as mentioned. Bedside table a bit wobbly. Bathroom a little small, but perfectly functional.
Great evening meal and fab breakfast. Lovely room with great decor
Didn't like the shower curtain on wet room, needs to be a glass panel. Water went all over bathroom floor
Lovely peaceful location. Really lovely evening meal? Nice staff and very clean hotel,
The hotel is also a lovely pub / restaurant so we were able to have a nice drink before fabulous food. The breakfast was fantastic as well. The staff were all exceptionally helpful.
Very clean, friendly and knowledgable staff, excellent food
Feel there could have been e been better segregation in the dining area for people with dogs.Being a dog owner myself no issue with them
Service and staff all excellent, friendly and helpful. Dinner was extremely good as was the breakfast. We will return and recommend to friends and family.
The facilities were absolutely incredible! We fell in love with our room, the staff and the food was just incredible! The location is spot on if you want a trip into York with the Park and Ride only a few minutes down the road as well!!
