- The receptionist Laura was professional, friendly and extremly helpful. I needed support with a problem i had with mistaken double room booking and Laura went out of her way to reslove the situatuon. The hotel was warm, welcoming and would stay again.
Cons -
- Little things like the toilet, the water the shower: slow, a bit like the hotel needs plumbing and it was noosy during a big party in the resraurant.
- Everything is in desperate need of a bit of TLC. Super friendly staff doesn’t make up for it.

The actual building is from the 17th century so it was expected to be a little bit quirky. Bed, furniture and carpets could do with a bit of TLC. All was clean. Very good black out curtains. Water temperature wasn’t really high enough for a bath. Breakfast was as good.
Everything is in desperate need of a bit of TLC. Super friendly staff doesn’t make up for it.

Took 10 minutes to get hot water through
Great locationFriendly staffFree car parking
Our room was a bit noisy ( room 12) - not sure of the source of the noise.Room was spacious Bathroom a bit dated but everything was fine
Very friendly and helpful staff ?We had a warm buffet at our private function and the food was delicious, fresh and plenty of it.
Lots of varying floor levels and stairs to access rooms: fitting with the age and charm of the building but not so good for those with mobility restrictions. My mistake for not considering this before booking.
It’s location
Our room ( 9 ) was located above the kitchen area. Early start & late finish times for the kitchen is annoying, plus the fact that the extraction duct from the kitchen is on the outside of the bedroom wall which can be heard from within the bedroom. It’s an old property, with very noisy floor boards which will get on your nerves if the room above has been let. Apart from that, we had a comfy stay. ( 2 nights )
Nice room, excellent location and a lovely breakfast
Unable to open any windows
We ate breakfast which was good with a reasonable selection of food.
General decor is dated and new carpets are required in the restaurant area.
The receptionist was very helpful on arrival and friendly. Answered all my questions and even offered to let me change rooms if mine was not to my liking. Room was very clean and well maintained. Did not eat there. I could make coffee and use their wifi.
I had no complaints about my 2 night stay. Very minor, but the toilet seat was a little loose and could do with tightening up.
Staff were great, happy and helpful. They were straight on with the issue we had with the market set up in the morning.
Whilst we know the hotel was on the high street, we were not informed that the market would start setting up at 4:15AM, they had no consideration for the guests in the hotel. The hotel staff raised this with the market stall owner, and they did apologise. They should also raise this with the council. Is there a need to set up at 4AM?Our friends in other rooms were not affected as they were not at the front of the hotel. Last thing, the hotel could do with some bathroom updates, showers mainly.
Food was lovely staff pleasant

Couldn't fault anything
