As always really friendly staff, nice cosy bar area for a few drinks. Quiet hotel right in the centre of stokesley with a super comfy bed.

the downstairs was lovely well decorated and welcoming, staff where very helpful and nice location was fabulous

The rooms where dated and tired. It was cold during the night. The bathroom was in poor condition black between the tiles and around the bath the shower was also very poor just trickled out.

Wonderful location in the heart of the town so easy to get around. Just watch out for Friday morning parking restrictions on the market square . Warm welcome from the on-site staff.

It’s up and down stairs so maybe not suited to anyone with mobility issues or maybe ask not to be at top levels

Perfect location right in town. Great bar and staff were helpful & friendly. Fabulous Sunday lunch. Always lovely and warm and the bed was very comfortable.

It’s in the middle of light renovations which are needed especially in the common areas. A little more TLC required. But all in all it was perfect for our needs.

Great location! Good sized rooms. Clean.

I wanted a glass of Merlot before we went out. There was only Shiraz and I had the last glass. When we got back my husband & I asked for an Expresso Martini each because they were advertised at the bar. Couldn’t do that because no Kaluah in stock.

Bedroom was great, clean & comphy bed. Lovely view across the square

It is obviously having a refurbishment so quite tatty in the hallways, but the shower was quite bad. Mould in between the tiles & round the shower door

    8RichardPosted on: 11-27-2025

Excellent facilities very comfortable bed and good sized rooms

Some of the hallway carpets are worn but theirs a sign saying they’re doing refurbishment so all good!

    10StuartPosted on: 11-9-2025

Warm welcome local knowledge and info about the area and dinner.spotless room, excellent location and parking free. VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY

    5StevePosted on: 10-22-2025

Location was great. Room was recently refurbished and a decent size but no wardrobe. Bathroom was large with seperate bath and large shower

There is virtually no staff, no housekeeping. Although new the basin taps were wobbly and shower taps were not great. The shower water ran cold by the time both of us had showered. There is refurbishment going on but some of the carpets are at least a decade overdue for replacement

    Location

Corridors to room ratty and smelt of smoke - had to hold breath to get to room. The room we booked was not a recently renovated room (as showing pictures) but in desperate need of renovation. No mattress cover on the bed.

Booked this hotel for the night and it said it had a shower which didn't because no shower hose was connected to the shower so obviously the room was not inspected beforehand .

Booked this hotel for the night and it said it had a shower which didn't because no shower hose was connected to the shower so obviously the room was not inspected beforehand. The bar which the hotel is in is very ruff and it's the same set of guys each weekend which come along and always ends up fighting with locals and themselves .The locals said it the same old week in week out which is very poor for the bar to let them in knowing this is what happens.I would stay well away from this hotel unless you're prepared for fighting.

The property was close to Stokesley Showground, in fact within walking distance, and that’s why I chose The Leven.

Too many stairs to get to my room. Maybe I should have stipulated. The edging to the shower tray had black mould. A good dose of bleach would have removed it. No meals available at the hotel, not even breakfast. The room was adequate enough but no hairdryer. The bed was very comfortable indeed.

    10DeborahPosted on: 9-20-2025

Good communication and friendly staffLovely room true to picture added bonus of large bath with plenty of hot water good water pressure for showerVery comfortable bed and a great night's sleepLots of tea & coffee supplies and nice touch of added biscuits.Room was a great temperature with extra heater if needed without having a radiator on.

Floors a little uneven but forgiven as it is to be expected in a building with age and character.Wouldn't put me of staying again.
