    Pros +

    • The location is convenient for local attractions. Bar and restaurant are excellent with friendly staff.
    • It was absolutely the worst pub accommodation probably we have ever stayed in. That is because the bedding, and perhaps other items in the bedroom, had a detergent scent which was absolutely hideous. We had to put all of our luggage in the bathroom and shut the door. Our nightware stunk so much in the morning that we carried it out in a bag to our vehicle. For the balance of our holiday, we had to sleep in undergarments as opposed to sleepwear because our sleepwear was so possessed of a horrible scent. How any hotel, pub or other accommodation, cannot find it imperative to use scentless products is beyond us. Perhaps the laundress loves that scent. However, the laundress might not like other scents. Having this in mind, the laundress should only use scentless items, in short, the room could’ve been nice, but it was horrible. We could hardly crawl into the bed because of the smell in the bedding and on the pillows. And it was the best room in the place!! Imagine. This place is owned by a Lord or some other such entitled person. He and his spouse ought to sleep in that room some night. Then let me know what they thought about it.
    • Peaceful beautiful setting. Big bath, comfy bed, the coffee machine.

    Cons -

    • We would expect a fixed shower in a superior room and a loo seat that stayed in place!!

    • We had dinner there and felt that the staff where not friendly enough or observant enough

Lovely rural, rustic Inn with gest roomsMain restaurant was very pleasant, had old world charm, beams, artwork and lots of history. Dinner menu was small, but filled with local food. Dinner was amazing 10/10. Service fantastic and friendly.Breast again was full of local quality foods, freshly cooked to order. Again served in the main restaurant

The location was lovely, the staff were nice and the cottage room we had was beautiful. It was comfy with a nice bathroom. A very beautiful room and lovely surroundings. The pub was nice and we had breakfast both nights of our stay. We tried the food in the evening as well and that was very nice. Having your breakfast included within the stay was very good value. The sausage and bacon were very nice and it was nice to have the option of changing how your eggs were cooked.

Some of the facilities were a bit outdated and the TV didn't work very well as it kept cutting out but we were largely out and about so that didn't matter to us. Breakfast was nice but bread was a bit old and dry and the second day. Think that might be because we were the only ones for breakfast the second day, it just wasn't as nice as the first day's bread

We stayed in the old school house which was warm and very comfortable, in a super convenient location with ample private parking well away from the main road so lovely and secure and very quiet. The grounds are stunning, the view across the pasture to the cricket club beyond is quintessentially English and the food in the pub itself, where we ate dinner AND breakfast was phenomenal!

Breakfast was good and the local sausages were excellent. The bed was supremely comfortable

However, no fruit or fruit salad was available, nor were mushrooms nor baked beans for the cooked breakfast. No chairs in the bedroom. Although the bed was very comfortable it was a Queen size and was too wide for the room. A King size would have been better because it would have allowed more room beside the bed and a small chair or two could have been put in the room. The rooms being in a separate cottage is an inconvenience for those with walking difficulty especially during the Winter. Probably quite nice in the Summer for those who are fully mobile. The TV had only a very limited number of channels available.

Unfortunately I had to leave before breakfast was served (9am on a Sunday) however they did a take away breafast for me as I was leaving at 7:30, the staff were really good.

    There was nothing to dislike

Beautiful location, easy parking, lovely bath and luxurious clean sheets.

Very small room, quite cold even after the heating was fixed, some cobwebs in the corners.

    9AlexisPosted on: 10-7-2024

The room was amazing: comfy bed, huge bathroom, nice view.Very good English breakfast - the pub was only open for the ppl staying at the cottage, loved it!

    9VincentPosted on: 9-22-2024

It was in a great location and the staff were very friendly and food excellent.

Maybe next time a bigger room and definitely a bigger bathroom. Other than that is was excellent.

Excellent Breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Lack of a walk in shower was a disappointment, especially as I asked if one was available. Squatting in a bath at my age was disappointing!

The location is awesome and views from the window so beautiful. Love to have a choice of bath or shower. Really big bathroom. Large comfy bed with beautiful bedding. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Lots of lovely little touches

Good location , friendly helpful staff

We had to change from a suite not actually in the pub which was lovely , for the last 2 days (we stayed for 5 nights)we had to move to a room above the pub with shared bathroom, it was of a low standard. The only room available when I booked was the low standard one and the manager did upgrade us to a suite with en-suite bathroom for no extra cost for the first 3 nights.
