- lovely staff, great size room and lovely breakfast. Great value for the price. The location is stunning and we actually got engaged here so will always be a special place and will visit again.
- The location was great. Tea room, couple of pubs, and post office and little gift shop. Nice place.
Cons -
- Shower fitting was precarious and fell on my head. Could do with being a bit lower too, my wife couldn't reach to adjust it.
- Bathroom could do with updating
- Parking a little tight in our van, but did find alternative parking.

Laid back in every way. Stunning location, friendly, helpful owners. Interior a nice blend of traditional mixed with modernist art. Cracking selection of real ales and authentic Thai cuisine to boot.
It's too easy to pick fault when it is not you being critiqued. No grumbles here.
The Thai food is delicious and a welcome respite if you've been restricted to the usual regional pub fare lately. One of our group members said it was her favorite stay on our 6-day hike. Breakfast was simple, standard continental (yogurt, cereal, fruits, toast & spreads, juices, etc), vegetarian hot breakfast is just eggs + toast + salad if you request it. The ground floor pub downstairs is a local favorite, but we had a quiet & good sleep. Glad the room had opaque shades in order to sleep properly in summer hours.
Could use some more vertical space to hang things, like clothes hangers and wall hooks, but satisfied overall.
Made very welcome on arrival, my room was airy, clean, cool and bright. I ate a tasty Thai meal of ribs and Pad Thai, complements to the Chef. My bed was comfortable and the shower was modern & warm. I enjoyed the complementary breakfast before checking out and walking the hill road down to Hebden. The village of Heptonstall has a lot of history and character and well worth exploring, and is only a quick bus ride up from Hebden Bridge. Great views across the valley. I look forward to my next visit and stay at The Cross.
Excellent location and excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Bedroom was lovely and en-suite was great.
Evening staff could have been a bit more helpful. Seemed to forget what he's said only an hour before but not really a problem.
Beautiful little village owner was very nice and helpful the food is amazing
Steep hill ?
Rooms were large, nicely furnished and clean. It was less than 20 minutes into Hebden bridge down a big hill. The village itself is nice. The pub has a courtyard which is nice to sit out in in good weather.
My room looked directly over the road into several bedrooms so I felt like I was in a goldfish bowl. Kept the curtains closed most of the time.Breakfast was strange, the cooked breakfast was 2 pieces of bacon and an egg, the chef kept telling us how fortunate we were to get it as they were only obliged to provide a continental breakfast, which was okay. The Thai food served at the pub was very tasty but my wife ended up leaving most of hers as the sweet and sour was too spicy. It would have been nice to show the spice ratings on the menu so you could ask for the amount of spice to suit your taste.
Delicious food. Comfortable spacious room. Friendly staff.
Location is lovely, near to the town centre accessible by a local bus or walk..... Room was very comfortable and breakfast very nice
Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere
everything ,we didn't want to come home ,the room was warm and comfortable hot water clean and lots of choice behind bar friendly staff and a lovely cook who looked after my vegetarian husband having to leave
The staff and Linda the chef are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The location is close to hebden bridge and good walking country. Regular buses every 30 mins, if you don’t fancy the walk from hebden back to the pub. Even though my room was a single, very spacious and enough room to swing a cat.
Linda was amazing she was accommodating, helpful and gave loads of local advice. She cooks amazing Thai food that is wonderful, authentic and delicious ? Locals made us totally welcome and we will return!

It's a great little pub with rooms in a beautiful part of England. Welcoming, friendly staff. Lovely well kept rooms. Will definitely come back.
Our room was great, but right next to the kitchen so it was a little noisy when we went to bed early and then when we got up. It didn't really disturb us and it's not a big place so would just check we didn't have that room again if possible. It didn't spoil our visit.
Bad check in food ok not good price poor check out 100 for a night night away
Great pub , location
Having breakfast early on Sunday morning. Last order 9:00am.
The location
The beds were very uncomfortable the food menu was very limited no parking at facility the walls as you entered the pub were badly marked.
Clean, friendly, quiet location but easy accessible to Hebdon Bridge
We could hear guests still down in the pub as our room was directly over the bar
