Great Hallingbury Manor & Lodges London Stansted

Fabulous overnight stay from welcoming reception, comfortable room with great views of the woods. The food and staff.in the bar and restaurant were lovely. The hotels grounds were nice to walk around. We would definately come again

Clean, modern and warm.

Very close to main road which was a bit noisy, in fact nosier than the planes.

The room, the breakfast, the lovely garden, and not too many people. Beautiful building.

Noisy as I was on the top floor, and the shower, had a lot of lime scale on shower door, very noticeable and on the ledge at the bottom.

Big room. Spacious bathroom. Good shower. Easy parking. Nice restaurant. Nice hotel grounds. Convenient for the motorway and airport. Friendly and helpful staff. Overall the level of the hotel was well above the the cost of the room.

Quite a few lightbulbs flickered - room and restaurant. TV needed retuning - channel numbers were all over the place.

Staff were lovely. William (reception) gave a very warm welcome.The hotel represents excellent value for money, which makes up for any shortcomings.

I couldn’t turn the radiator off, so it was too warm, especially after showering to get dressed.The room was clean but I did notice it hadn’t been hoovered prior to my arrival.The hotel is on the Stanstead flight path, and ear defenders are supplied but the windows were flimsy, meaning it is still very noisy.

Stunning place, I did not expect such high standard the amount we paid. Staff at reception very polite! We stayed in the Stable block.and it was very good, spacious room, plenty for the 2 of us. Amazing value for money and the location is fantastic for Stansted.

Could be more lighting outside.

A nice stopover for a flight the next day. It's a little remote but the parking is free and the rooms are perfectly adequate for my purpose.The room was well equipped and it was great to laze in the bath after a gruelling journey.

A few things could be improved. My room was not in the main block. I arrived at night and had to park in the main car park which meant I had to walk across a very dark area and across a very dark country road which was full of puddles to get to my room. Not very safe. There is parking outside the block in which I was staying but I was told that it wasn't for guests (although I did see other guests ignoring this). The area really needs more lighting and a proper crossing point.The room is very nice but not well sound insulated so every aircraft departure could be heard deep into the night.

Breakfast was véry limited, only filter coffee and slow service. Asking to refill the standard pastries was something they couldn't think of themselves. Would not recommend! Also, ALL lights were constantly flickering, especially distracting amd annoying in the evening at the bar/ restaurant area!

Property is fabulous

The room I was in number 24 is at the bottom of a door way which is very noisy. Also the radiator in the hallway was banging all the time I had to turn it off. The pillows are very hard and thin so very uncomfortable.

Receptionist was extremely welcoming and polite. This is our go to place for accommodation before flying out from Stansted, best kept secret! We kindly got our room upgraded too which was a nice surprise!

Due to the proximity to the airport, the sound of the planes is louder and they seem quite close at times, but it has never impacted our sleep! To my knowledge, there are no mini fridges in the rooms so we weren’t able to keep things cold.

This was very good value for a well-maintained, comfortable and stylish hotel, with spacious rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I had a nice dinner in the restaurant.

Inevitably there is some aircraft noise given its proximity to Stansted, but also some noise from guests in neighbouring rooms getting up in the small hours for early morning flights. The extractor fan in the bathroom was also noisy!Not the hotel's fault, but worth knowing for guests coming to/from the airport without a car - taxi fares for the short journey to/from Stansted are sky high. The hotel's Booking.com entry leads with 'just a 5-minute journey' from the airport, but Uber and Bolt were both quoting £38+ when I arrived at the airport! It took me 3 phone calls to local firms to establish that the cheapest option is the taxi concession inside the airport because they don't have to pay the airport's pickup/dropoff fees, but it still costs £19 one-way.

Toilet in the bathroom was quite narrow, cleanliness of the bathroom could've been better, outside of the sink had toothpaste on it, also could see toothpaste splatter on the floor. It was a small bathroom so it was easy to spot this. I'd suggest installing some kind of door stop in the bathroom, instead of the door just making a hole in the ceiling? It is right at the end of runway so if you want peace don't book this one.

Very cute and cozy rooms! And the staff were lovely. The location is great for getting to the airport.

Plenty of car parking space. Attractive buiding and grounds. Very pleasant staff.

Not as good as our previous stay. The room was across the road from the hotel- due to refurbishment of rooms but we were not informed of this when booking. Previously the breakfast was waiter service and eggs cooked to order . This time it was a precooked buffet and only scrambled eggs available. No choice of bread for toast- only white. Limited fruit selection- apple or orange

An absolutely perfect visit from everyone involved and in every aspect.Massive investment in the refurb shows at every turn and the staff are all amazing.Be aware this is at the end of Stansted Airport runway! I have included my videos to show proximity and to hopefully deter any imbeciles from booking here because it’s close to the airport and then moaning the planes were loud

Better lighting needed for crossing the road to get to annexe opposite.
