    Pros +

    • Nice room
    • Very clean, comfortable and attractive. Friendly staff with professional manner. Evening meal and breakfast tailored to meet our needs. Lovely location. Lovely that there was no radio/piped music at breakfast!
    • Very peaceful and relaxed, pleasant bar and good food.

    Cons -

    • Price. One member of staff that showed us to room not helpful made us wait 15 min to 12.05 on a Thursday to serve us a drink not a friendly type.
    • We would have like to be able to control the room temperature ourselves - staff had to do this remotely. There were two LED mirrors in the bathroom, but we couldn't get either to light up. A bit of noise from other rooms late evening, but nothing too intrusive.
    • Non cooked breakfast options such yoghurt, granola and fruit would have been welcomed.

Characterful inn which seems to have come alive under new ownership/management. Rooms are very good and the inn is very lively now under the new management.

There is nothing not to like, my only recommendation is that breakfast needs to be organised and catered for a little better. A cold buffet table with cereals and juice/fruit would be good, rather than having to ask for everything.

Our room was really good especially the bathroom. The evening meal & breakfast was first class. Staff were extremely friendly & efficient. Prices were reasonable we will definitely stay again as it’s an excellent location too

Stayed 1 night while visiting the IWM. Only about 10mins drive. Super convenient. The property was lovely. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Room (The Drage) was in the barn conversion of the pub. Beautifully renovated. Very clean. Bed was comfortable and bathroom with White Company toiletries. Had dinner at the restaurant. Quite busy with good atmosphere. Food was ok - the rib eye steak was underwhelming. Staff were very friendly and professional. Overall would go back again. Highly recommend if looking for a place to stay near the IWM.

Just a one night stay for work. Room in the Annex very well appointed, clean and comfortable if a little small.Perfectly adequate for my requirements. Friendly helpful staff and excellent food. Excellent place to stay.

Staff really great we rang through to say we might be late and miss the reastraunt they were willing to go through menu to see what we wanted.all staff frendly and could not do enough to help room was ideally located across from bar and reastruant so no noise evening meals fantastic.Quirky bar area with history great beers

No mirror in room for putting on makeup (this was the only fault we could find and would not stop us using again if we were in the area .

The whole experience of our one night visit was really first class- nothing was to fault. Check/in, the room , location and especially the fantastic food was awesome. Easy checkout and a great breakfast rounded off this short visit. The Red Cow is a gem . The team behind this wonderful Inn should be congratulated. 10/10!

    Nothing at all.

A great, friendly stay in a clean and comfortable room with good shower room. Nice to see a local pub well frequented by locals, as well as visitors. Good evening menu with very good food, well presented and tasty. Cooked breakfast also good. All staff were welcoming.

Nothing really, even the sun was shining! Not quite the perfect 10, as the shower room door is a bit water damaged and breakfast the second morning not quite as good as the first morning (the muffin missing and DIY toast), and would be good if they had some juice available too, but I am being picky here!

    10StephaniePosted on: 3-18-2025

Beautiful thatched pub with restaurant and guest rooms. Very friendly and helpful bar staff and the food was very good. The guest room was in the refurbished barn section and was absolutely beautiful and of a vey high quality.

The only negative would be that the dressing table had a large tv mounted above it which meant there was no mirror and nowhere else to sit do hair and makeup. This could be easily fixed if the tv was moved over and a mirror placed above the dressing table.

Charming room, great bed, wonderful bathroom. Will definitely return.

Peaceful rural location; comfortable, modern and clean rooms; good pub and food; friendly and accommodating bar staff.

Breakfasts were very good, but having to choose off-menu was limiting - it would’ve been good to also have a simple buffet option for cereals, toast, etc. Also, there was no hot water in the morning of my last day. Bad things happen occasionally and can’t be helped - it’s the reaction of the establishment that counts. In this case I had no one to notify, and my message attempt through Booking.com wasn’t answered. The only slight disappointment in an otherwise enjoyable stay.

    10AlanPosted on: 3-9-2025

Lovely setting, rooms of a high standard and great food and drink

We stayed in room Brand. Beautiful room. Barn conversion tastefully designed. The pub was a lovely thatched property. The evening meals were delicious.
