    Pros +

    • The staff and service was great and the location perfect for our trip to Warner Bros Studio.
    • Friendly staff ,beautiful rooms
    • Dinner was excellent. Food amazing and service really good.Bar was good.

    Cons -

    • The lighting in our room was very dark and two large extractors from the hotel kitchen located directly outside of our windows, were extremely noisy.
    • The only thing is floor boards are very creaky
    • Breakfast was chaotic, busy with not enough cleared and cleaned tables for guests arriving. Also not enough clean mugs for coffee and some staff aimlessly walking around.Room was very small.Bathroom was tiny with barely any room.Soap was bolted down which doesn't befit the type of hotel it is.Guttering was broken so downpour of water during the heavy rain in the morning.Exit from the bar to the patio area was through bi-fold doors, that could not be opened from the outside. So guests had to let other guests (and staff) back in. Detracted from what should be a relaxed environment.

Set in a very beautiful landscape

Lots of noise around 7-9 pm doors opening and closing, children running up and down the corridors

It was a Valentines weekend and we enjoyed the themed meal and the service was great, the meal delicious and the included red rose for my wife was a bonus. Breakfast was great although the day after valentines was packed so the staff were a little frazzled but this is not a complaint, just an observation.

They advertise the room safe suitable for a laptop...it wasn't. Just about get an iPad in there. Drinks are very expensive.

    The decor and atmosphere.

Some cracks in the wall in the swimming pool need filling. The staff were a little flustered in the morning at breakfast due to the overwhelming number of people coming down at their allotted time. The cups for tea and coffee had run out along with the pastries.

The main building is beautiful ,but felt it was odd the main reception isn't there .The staff were very helpful offering to change our room when they realised he was disabled .We hadn't booked it as we only booked on the day

The rooms although clean felt austere ,a bit like student accommodation. The bathroom was quite cold

Upgraded to a superior room - absolute waste of money there’s nothing superior about it - so small, thin walls, poor lighting, and bath over shower…

Dated hallways, creaky floor boards can hear every word from room next door, poor standards

    The brickwork

Never had to queue for breakfast place is very dated and like a hostel block

Freya on reception was delightful. My partner Clare was able to reminisce about her time working at Devere Beaumont and she was so happy. Room beautiful and bed so comfortable. Made a last minute change to add our daughter to our room booking. So easily and quickly accommodated. Made our stay even more special. Didn't realise just how far hotels have come since covid. Being able to have the facilities to purchase mostly anything you may have forgotten and the messaging service to answer queries was brilliant.

Slight damp/musty smell upon landing, opening room but know this is age of building and wasn't a problem.

The hotel has a long history and appears to have been well designed in the past. The staff were the strongest point: very friendly, helpful, and responsive. Every issue I raised was addressed quickly. The hotel was very clean throughout. The pool, sauna, and hammam were all clean and in good condition. The gym is small but well equipped. My first room, located in a separate building, was very quiet.

Finding the right entrance on arrival was confusing. I first drove to the main entrance but had to exit and use another parking area, as the main reception is set back from the official entrance. In the separate building, there was no hot water in the evening; the water was colder than room temperature. After a delay, I was moved to the main building, where the room itself was much better in size, furniture, and bathroom quality. However, sound insulation there was poor. I could clearly hear conversations of people walking from reception to the restaurant, and there was a noisy delivery or unloading near my window at around 4 a.m. on the second night. After reporting this, the issue did not repeat.

    Staff and facilities very good,

i booked based on the photo of the historic hotel, upon checking in my room was in a modern conference building across the car park from the main hotel, i got wet walking to my room, again walking back to the hotel for my evening meal, and again going for breakfast, one of the main reasons i booked the hotel was due to it having a swimming pool, i arrived to find out they have swimming lessons at the times i wanted to use the pool, so couldn't use it, this should be advised at time of booking

All excellentAttending funeral in Chesham and reception afterwards was held in Latimer House.Very demanding occasion managed smoothly and respectfully by all the staff.Particular thank you to duty manager over fluctuating dinner numbers which he negotiated with the chef.

    10AndyPosted on: 2-10-2026

Upgraded room was superb. Staying in the main house makes a huge positive impact. Gym is closer, restaurant is closer of breakfast and the views are beautiful.

Pool and sauna could be nicer, gym is small and not well stocked compared to other hotels at similar pricing. Horwood house, champneys, pendley manor, holiday inn Aylesbury all have better gym facilities.

Very clean and comfortable, we upgraded to a master suite which was lovely and homely.

Beautiful quiet location, mixture of old and modern, comfortable rooms, secure location, nice buffet breakfast and.big bar lounge area and staff very friendly

Nothing really grounds are big, not enough time explore entire location

    Peaceful, friendly

Too many stairs, lift not working.Window small and didn’t open.

    10FionaPosted on: 2-7-2026

Super friendly staff, facilities and food were amazing.Clean and comfortable

Rooms are a little spread out in different buildings but it didn't impact our stay - more of an observation than something we didn't like.

    Friendly

Radiator wasn’t working, was reported to reception

    Nice complex

WiFi is sporadic. Showers at the swimming pool had no hot water. The roads leading to the hotel are generally absolutely terrible in condition
