Pros +
- Comfortable beds, nice big room, great restaurant and lovely relaxing area.
- Fantastic hotel that is very new. Decorated nicely and very clean in all areas. They had a lovely indoor lounge area with free hot drinks available and free cake in the afternoon. It also has a small cinema room which has 2 showings a day, 1 kid friendly one and 1 adult one at 9pm. The beds were comfy with nice linen. We went for a lovely walk right from the hotel. Ample free parking available
- Convenient location, clean and the pet wash station was a life saver after long hiking days with a muddy pup!
Cons -
- I?d suggest a designated dog area outside.
- The breakfast was bad, there was barely anything available. No eggs (unless you cook it yourself), the pastries were stale, no beans or hash browns. The breakfast was served in a tiny area so lots of people converged in a corner making It very overcrowded. It would have been great to have some alternative milks available in the lounge area. We only saw 1 staff member (except at breakfast) during our entire stay, there is no reception area which made it feel a little strange
- The noise of the traffic being so close to the main road, was quite loud but we found there was a broken window seal from a previous guest. They moved us to a room which didn’t have a broken window seal so it was fine!

Polite and friendly staff, great facilities and good location for hiking, clean well stocked rooms with attention to detail.
Nothing :) absolutely perfect
Free coffee 24/7 and free cake at 4pm was a nice touch. The bed was large and comfortable. Very dog friendly! Max received a tennis ball to keep and a furry rug to sleep on which was sweet. The food was excellent and the staff really friendly. We will stay again.
Right above the bins and bike shed so it was a bit noisy and on the Saturday night, some crazy man was revving his car really loudly in the car park until 3am which really hampered our sleep.
The room and facilities Ease of check in and out Free parking Excellent continental breakfast Great location easy access to edale , Castleton and hope.Comfy bed and nice bed linen Afternoon coffee and cake Dog friendly Great bar and food
Just a few small things mini bar could do with few more snack choices Wait between meals fairly long between first corse and main and waited ages for a staff member so that I could ask about desserts when it wasn't busy and staff were just chatting away between themselves
Great hotel, very quiet and clean
Service charge
Ultra modern. Room design and furnishing. Lounge facilities. Good restaurant. Dog bike walker friendly.Friendly staff.Great for access to all the delights of the Peak District. On a day trip we went to Treak Cavern and then onto the cattle auctions in Bakewell
Road noise at front. It's on a route to Manchester airport
There was plenty of room for three adults in our room. We also loved the lounge where we could get coffee and tea when we wanted. Having a cinema room with films shown was another bonus.
Very friendly staff. Excellent Restaurant , great breakfast.
Very busy road with heavy traffic just outside the hotel which makes it a bit noisy when you are trying to sleep with open window.
Fantastic little hotel near a lot of beautiful sights. Neil started things off with a supremely efficient and friendly welcome at reception. The rooms very very modern, comfortable and fully stocked. The "retreat" lobby was a great place to spend a little time reading or relaxing. We loved it.
The room was nice with all needed amenities. The restaurant downstairs was good as well.
The room was a bit dark and could use a deep clean.
No fuss but lots of great touches big room great shower superking comfy bed free coffee and tea and even cake at 4pm nice vibe in bar
We checked in around 5pm. Although it’s a self check-in, there was an always help on hand to show you the procedure. Tbh I prefer talking to a real person! The hotel was immaculately clean. We loved the decor throughout especially in the bedrooms. The shower was wonderful- hot and powerful. The hotel provides gorgeous shampoo, conditioner, soap and hand cream which we made use of. The bed was really comfy too with plenty of pillows. We brought our dog with us and we felt very welcome with her. There were plenty of jars of biscuits and water bowls around the hotel. The bar was fab and we enjoyed a gluten free beer outside in the evening sunshine. It was a nice touch to have complimentary coffee and cake on arrival in the cosy snug. There was a film room showing films at 3,6 and 9. Although we didn’t need to use the facilities, there was bike and fog washing station available to use free of charge. We enjoyed the continental breakfast with lovely coffee.
Although we paid £15 extra for our dog we thought we were a little disappointed with what was provided. There were no treats in the room or water bowl. The website said a bed would be provided so we didn’t bring our own for her. It turns out it is a ‘’vet’ bed. I had never heard if one of these - it’s a mat (imo that’s what it looks like ) and there was no way our dog was going to sleep on it ( tbh she’s a vizsla so believes she’s human). I thought it would be something more cosy. A ball was provided which she loved. We ate in restaurant, Bareca, in the evening. Sadly we were disappointed. My husband had breaded chicken which was overcooked and dry with 3 potatoes and a tiny bit of veg- not enough to fill him up after a day’s walking!! I had a chicken tika pizza that was smothered in a yoghurt mint sauce - so much of it that it completely overpowered any taste of the pizza. The staff were very friendly. We paid around £200 for one night which included breakfast. We were at the front of the hotel. The road is VERY noisy! All night the traffic is whizzing by. We asked to be moved to the back of the hotel but it was full so we were unable to do this. Sadly not a great nights sleep. We were offered early plugs - so I’m guessing this is a common complaint.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice food
My room happened to be next to the cinema room and the noise of the base speaker coming through the wall made it more difficult for me to get to sleep
That it was fully inclusive for dogs, there was free yummy cake every afternoon, the food in the restaurant was delicious the staff were all super friendly and it was in a great location to see the amazing sites of the Peak District ?
Nothing, we thought it was amazing ? however, if there was a safe place to take the dogs off their leads for a good run around that would be even better
Welcoming Afternoon cake and coffeeDogs welcome and catered for
No official electric car chargingNo route to walk safely from hotelOn busy road
Nice location and big car park
Worst breakfast ever and super expensive
It's the perfect location. The staffs are friendly, and the room is very clean.
Nothing, it's suitable for us.
Our stay was excellent from start to finish. Checking in system worked very smoothly. Purpose designed rooms which were modern and coordinated. Restaurant on site which sold excellent food and had special deals eg 3 small dishes for £13 before 7pm.
Nothing!
