Room was good - overlooking pool. Quite compact but fine for one person. Bathroom was fine - nice and clean. Shower could have done with a container/tray/something to put soap on whilst showering! Location was good - about half a mile walk downhill into beautiful Mevagissey. Breakfast was GREAT - very good cooked breakfast - you order the night before, lovely croissant, tea, etc etc

Everything about this hotel was really lovely. We were greeted very warmly with a complimentary cream tea. Served in the beautiful lounge. Decor throught was lovely. Very comfortable bed. Dinner was very good as was the breakfast.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave.

Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast which is served quickly. Great portions. Comfortable and warm rooms. Easy parking.

Directions could be better on how to avoid going through the town e.g. street names given on booking (streets very narrow and traffic is permitted both eays)

Felt homely and Welcoming when arriving late and met by the very friendly Tam

The hosts were delightful, enthusiastic and very accomodating - their passion for their hotel was clear. The breakfast were very well presented and high standard, with an excellent selection. Location is ideal with views across the hills and sea and only a short walk into Mevagissey. Complimentary cream tea on arrival was a lovely extra.

Above & beyond....lovely friendly owners and staff.A complimentary cream tea was very welcome on our arrival as we were rather damp from our day walking on the coastal path.It was nice to chat to fellow guests in the communal areas of sitting room & bar.We had a very good meal in the evening too....& a box of chocolates in our room.

    Only stayed one night!

Wonderful hosts, absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel, phoned us ahead of visit to advise best route, Wonderful cream tea on arrival, very nice evening meal and very nice breakfast next morning

Dining room very hot at breakfast, bath in room very small for larger people

    10JoPosted on: 10-3-2025

We received a warm welcome and were delighted by the complimentary Cornish cream tea which we enjoyed in the late summer sunshine on the terrace. We had a comfortable room and though we walked into Megavissey for dinner on our first night, we had a very good dinner at the hotel on the second. Our room had a lovely view across the valley and we could hear the sea. It’s clear that the family who run the hotel work very hard to ensure guests have a good time and we did!

The friendliest of welcomes. Lovely people and excellent facilities in a quiet location on the high ground between Portmellon and Mevagissey. Restaurant food excellent too.

    6TimPosted on: 9-30-2025

Set in between mevagiseey and Portmellon overlooking the harbour the hotels sights were beautiful over the coast. There was an excellent breakfast and we enjoyed the added perk of a cream tea on arrival.

Unfortunately the heating in and around the reception area was too high and the Air fresheners in the hallway near room 14 were far too strong. Also the hot tap in the bathroom didn’t work or took far too long to work and we found the bed blanket too hot at night. When we asked for walking directions to The Lost gardens of Heligan we were given a very difficult route which was on narrow lanes and took far longer than other more suitable routes nearby.. We double checked with a local landlord and they were shocked by the route suggestion given to us by the hotel staff. So we decided to go a different way with less stress. Finally we thought the heavy emphasis on boxing in the hotel bar including many pictures of Muhammad Ali in violent action and a signed glove was distasteful and put us off staying in the room for too long..

This hotel is outstanding. The staff are warm and friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is top quality, beautifully cooked and presented, and was so tasty. The breakfast was amazing! I thought it was more like a 5 star London hotel in terms of quality and cleanliness. A memorable experience.

    Nothing to say here

    10HelenPosted on: 9-28-2025

Most welcoming , lovely staff. Lots of areas to relax including a well stocked bar (for small property). Happy to make recommendations and even booked outside restaurant for us.

    7NigelPosted on: 9-26-2025

Good size room and pretty well appointed. They managed to make a place to store my bike - which was great. Very enthusiastic owner.

Being too far out of Megavissy and it’s a steep walk!

    10NeilPosted on: 9-20-2025

Breakfast very good. Dinner excellent would highly recommend. Room was fine we were upgraded so had a sea view. Staff and owners all very friendly and helpful.

Parking could be difficult especially if the hotel was busier. I have a disability so require plenty of room to get in/out of car, although the car park is small and on this occasion it wasn't a problem, I feel that a specific blue badge / disabled car space needs to be catered for.
