    Pros +

    • The staff were all lovely and the view is amazing
    • Fantastic views from room and dining room. Spotlessly clean throughout. Breakfast was lovely. Choice of cereals and full cooked breakfast.
    • The food was excellent and so was the service. Surroundings are relaxing and pleasant. We have stayed before hence the return visit.

    Cons -

    • Took us a while to heat up the room ( it was exceptionally cold during our stay) the bed was was a bit soft so there was a lot of movement. Some of the furniture was damaged and some dirty marks on the walls
    • Due to balance problems I found the shower over bath quite awkward. Would have preferred full shower but realise this was a family room and a shower may not be convenient with very young children. A fair bit of road noise which the double glazing doesn't seem to do a lot to reduce it. This is not a moan as I'm being very picky.
    • Very disappointed with the bed in our room. Mattress was very uncomfortable with springs causing a lumpy feel. I reported this to reception as we got very little sleep. Everything else was really good but this spoiled our trip.

Very nice and friendly staff in all departments.Great cooked breakfast served on hot plates. Nice evening meals. Very clean establishment. Comfy bed. Nice quiet lounge area for a good natter.Only 40 minutes to Edinburgh by train or a 20 min walk into Kinghorn for a few pubs.

I could not/was not allowed to put a tip on any payments I made by phone/card at the bar/restaurant (I had no cash) Other establishments allow this. I thought was very unfair on your hard working staff.

A lovely hotel, with good facilities, including an indoor pool. Stayed in an executive suite which was lovely and spacious. The food was really nice and breakfast portion were very big. The staff. Could not have been more friendly and helpful,

    The room size

The room has marks on carpet the room is needing an uplift They gave us honey moon suite and when in bed you cant see the tv for this stupid post in your view

The hotel itself was clean the room was beautiful and the views outstanding ! Would be stunning for the family to sit out on the balcony on a sunny day.The restaurant is big and again with excellent view - the food was fantastic and reasonably priced for the portion size you get, the girl who served us (didn’t get her name) was so lovely and accommodating. The swimming pool is a decent size and they provide water wings etc incase you forget which is great and helped us!

I asked prior if there was anything they could do for Orlaghs 5th birthday even at an additional charged but was advised they couldn’t.They take a £100 holding deposit when you check in, unsure why as this was not explained but they do. Check in is at 3pm and check out is at 11am so for £210 a night your not even getting a full 24 hours and seemed a bit rushed trying to cram everything in , we got there at 3pm went to our room then the kids wanted to walk around the hotel to see what was there, this left no time for swimming or soft play as we had to go for dinner, but after dinner soft play was shut. Had to swim next morning after breakfast which breakfast was 8.30 only giving us 2 and half hours for breakfast a swim and back to room to get sorted for check out at 11am The worst part of the hotel is the staff - apart from a few members in the restaurant , any staff we had came into contact with where extremely rude and very unhelpful - especially the woman on reception at checkout who accused us of losing a key when we only where giving one, she tried to insinuate we where lying. The hotel I would give 9/10 , the arcade 3/10 , the restaurant 8/10 but the overall staff 2/10.

Reception staff were exceptional. Offering us a room on level, as 1 in party came out of hospital hours earlier. This was perfect.Fantastic breakfast in morning .

Good location, views superb breakfast very good

Extra blankets to sit out side on balcony or on sofa as sofa material practical but cheap and no cushions

Staff lovely and. Friendly. Rooms cosy and clean we had a lovely view over the water.

Used the leisure centre a few wee things could be added like hairdryers and body wash.

We enjoyed our stay, the view from our balcony was very beautiful. We did not eat at this location as we left before breakfast was served at 8am. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the view from our bed as well. The pool and sauna would have been more enjoyable if it was adults only or had an adult only time frame.

    10WillisPosted on: 1-19-2026

The breakfast was fantastic, traditional style and also accommodated variation requests with a smile. Very tasty food.

Not much not to like, especially for the price. The kids playroom was closed, unfortunately, but that is assumedly temporary. The swimming pool, billiard room, and arcades were fantastic. All with an amazing view.

Room was lovely and clean and had a great view too. The bed was so comfortable. We also enjoyed the breakfast.

There was nothing really. A very minor detail but the flush was really difficult to use on the toilet. We found the air con strange, it was either freezing or hot air.

    8TracyPosted on: 1-12-2026

The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly

The food was okay but quite average.Breakfast wasn't very hot, served on cold plates.

    9ChristopherPosted on: 1-5-2026

The breakfast had an excellent selection whilst not being "too much to choose". The quality of the items on the menu is very good, and the service is always with a smile. The executive family suites are lovely, the two-storey layout works really well, and the view is amazing, well worth the expenditure and the rates over the new year period were brilliant, with the local train station a 4-minute drive and therefore, accessing Edinburgh was very easy. The leisure facilities, whilst not being huge, were great, with the soft play area a good size and the swimming pool, whilst not large, perfect for the children, not really anything that adults can swim comfortably in. The dinner menu is also good, and the food was always tasty.

The executive suite rooms have one achilles heal. This being that the hotel has blue high power lamps to highlight the front of the hotel.... and these actually shine onto the windows of the executive suites - lighting the rooms at night and rendering the balcony useless if you want to sit and look over the bay - all you can see is the blue light shining up. We did raise this at the reception upon checking out, and the reaction was that this is often remarked upon - so please hotel, find a way of removing this or redirecting the lights so that the rooms are left to enjoy the view!
