Pros +
- The location to my home
- The only great thing was that the party for a family member was held on the same floor as our room and that we didn't have to get a taxi to/from the venue. The food on the buffet was very nice, all the usual favourites done very well.
- It was in a superb location for me
Cons -
- The stairs to the room stink of cannabis and the rain was very heavy during the night and the noise on the roof woke me up in the early hours . Also the bar shut at 21.00 . I find that unacceptable for residents I won’t be hurrying back
- On the face of it the hotel looks great, but look a little closer and you can see it's grubby in a lot of places and downright dirty in others - an actual biohazard in my son and daughter-in-law's room that prompted a room move and an upgrade. There's a lot of repairs that need to be addressed, and the fact that the bar wasn't available on arrival, nor food available, was a disappointment. The bars in the hotel were very poorly stocked, with not even basics like a bottle of rose wine available. There was a fire alarm activated during the afternoon, on leaving my room I could not find the emergency exit, it was not clearly sign posted, and got lost in the building - no visible signage pointed to a clearly marked exit. Breakfast on departure day was poor in the extreme, and throughout the stay staff seemed to disappear so the poorly stocked bar rarely had anyone serving in it.Another issue on departure day was the failure of the lift. This building doesn't seem to be really accessible, I certainly struggled to get up and down the stairs.
- The wrong room paid for a large room. service was disgusting, didn't want to service us after 9.30 pm, advised them we are paying guests run by young people. Not like some people living there. They were just interested in parties held there for a quick buck.

It was in a superb location for me
No restaurant, no working shower , constant noise and shouting from other residents at all hours of the day and night. The smell of weed is overwhelming and the breakfast is always empty and slowly refilled
Nice breakfast
The bathroom was filthy, the toilet was disgusting and there was hair all over the floor. The whole room and hotel smelt like cigarette smoke
Friendly receptionist.Bed very comfy and very spacious
Old toilet. Old shower.Toilet in initial room didn’t flush properly so moved room. Lovely room however the person next door was chatting and shouting at the top of her voice until around 4am
Beautiful clean crisp entrance and reception area. Room was nice with a view. Clean white fluffy towels.
The shower tray, toilet and sink themselves were clean, but other bits weren't. A little tired too. Huge bed but you could feel the springs come through. When booking the room description stated it had a bath, this is a luxury having only a shower at home, however there was only a shower. If we had been staying more than one night I would have asked if we could have a different room.
The shower facilities were good and location is good 2 minute walk from chippy shop and Chinese staff were reasonably friendly
Beds were uncomfortable wasn't very clean shame they have shut the restaurant breakfast not good
The staff seemed friendly enough
Run down, no water pressure, old smoke smell in room, no opening windows,
not very good and no response afterwards
Chef was not on site to enable breakfast to start at the time given by reception. The corridors had a very horrible smell in them. And i have emailed them twice with no reply, so customer service also very poor.
The room we stayed in was well kitted out, almost apartment like. The staff were very friendly and helped out where they could. Sadly the rest of the hotel let it down - onyx bar and restaurant has closed down so no chance of a drink or food at the hotel. The late evenings are pretty loud with the residents and there is a strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout the hotel corridors. Also a lot of work going on throughout the hotel which resulted in a very early wake up call.I paid £94 per night - massively over priced !!!
On arrival, the staff were friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early to our rooms so we could attend a meeting near by. Also with the restaurant and bar been unavailable they helped with places to eat near by.
The room was tired but clean. the matrass was thin and had no support. on the evening there were kids running up and down slamming doors until 2300 and this started again at 0300. There was no bar or restaurant as advertised, just a vending machine. No Wi-Fi was available due to WIFI this affected the TV which was also not working. We were informed that breakfast would be available from 0700 until 1000. We waited until 0745 with only toast and a yogurt available with tea or coffee. With no staff at hand on the morning.
I had to speak to the receptionist as me & my son didn't sleep due to a fight out side our room, down the fire escape and front of hotel. Swearing & creaming. Kids running up & down the corridor till early hours of the morning (my son said it was about( 2 - 3am).. there was night porter but seems there was no intervention. The receptionist said to put my review here so something can be down. I had a long drive back to bognor (home) never felt as tired as I do today.
Lack of respect to other people staying at the hot
Location
Nobody told us it was housing homeless or immigrants the smell off drugs was unreal people smoking in rooms the mattress was the worset ever felt ever spring in my back & the noise off doors banging all night was terrible we complained but just got fobbed off
Reception was nice
The springs sticking out of the bed and constant door slamming
24 hour reception. Good size carpark.
Poo on my 'clean' handtowel. Bin not emptied after previous guest. Lift door filthy. No bar or restaurant any more. Bed not comfy. Hotel in Widnes but advertising for St Helens RLFC.
The room decor and size was lovely and bed was really comfortable.
No restaurant available (learnt once arrived it had been closed since January)Wear and tear on quite a few pieces in the room
Location as was visiting friends.
This hotel houses the homeless which we didn't know, there's only four rooms in the hotel they keep for bookings, the room we had was roomy, but the shower was broken, the plug didn't seal the bath, there was blood on the curtains, you get very limited milk for the drinks in the room, the bar and restaurant isn't open as the homeless have facilities in there rooms for meals and drinks just the paying public haven't, you can see the hotel window bottoms full with food and foot wear from people who are living there, obviously wasn't told any of this on Booking.com there is one receptionist which might as well stopped at home for the use she was, then woke up by a fire test which we wasn't told about, do not bother booking is my advice.
Welcoming staff at front desk
As soon as I entered my room, strong smells of Marijuana throughout, had to open windows to air the room.Worst nights sleep, as at 3pm room filled with Marijuana and a banging headache.Breakfast wasn't great- small pot of sausages and some bacon. Was told breakfast started at 7am, and 7:45 still wasnt out. Hotel seems to have long term contract housing individuals awaiting housing - unfortunately not accounting for paying guests. Run down property, bathroom with poor shower pressure, holes in walls, didn't feel safe.
The newly renovated room was nice and clean, staff only seen 3 members all nice.
No lift working, beds very uncomfortable feel the springs.People loud in other rooms, we were in room 55 and there is a door outside that kept banging.and the bar wasn't open to get a drink.
