Pros +
- We stayed in one of the suites and it was very generous size with a great bedroom, big lovely bathroom and sitting room area. Good value for money given the room size, decoration and facilities. Good breakfast too.
- The spa treatment by Erica was just wonderful. The Italian barman was charming. The wine was decent and over priced
- A beautiful building, professional and welcoming staff, the decor in the lounge, the grounds, amazing breakfast and coffee, lovely view of the grounds from our bedroom windows
Cons -
- There was a lovely big bath in the bedroom but unfortunately we could not use it as the water was not warm enough. It was very odd as the shower water was hot, but not in the bath. We had someone come and check it and agreed but could not explain the difference and didn't do anything to fix this or follow-up. We tried at different times of day but no difference. It was a shame not to be able to use a lovely feature of the room on a special celebratory weekend away with my husband.
- The bar food was a bit dull.it took three attempts to get into the room.A light was not working in the room and I didn’t like the pillows at all.
- Our rooms were advertised as having baths but neither had baths just showers. The hotel is very warm and the rooms extremely warm which made it a bit uncomfortable. The sofa bed is not comfortable and difficult to sleep on. The spa was not fully working and needs a good clean and update.

Lovely location. Smelt divine in reception.
No plugs by the bed which was annoying - a little thing that would’ve made a big difference. We ordered room service which was missed. Twice. So after 2.5 hours we were given complimentary food and a bottle of wine. The gesture was much appreciated but would rather have eaten at 8pm instead of 10.30pm. Staff were very apologetic and we weren’t charged.
The breakfast was nice
The room was small, down a long dingy corridor and was far far too hot. The gym is situated in the wrong place far too close to the saunaThere were extra charges for everything!
Ian on the front desk was amazing! He was so helpful and kind. The afternoon tea was lovely and the room was comfortable and clean
The pool, steam room and sauna were somewhat tired.
Couldn't big this hotel up enoughBack in November myself and wife stayed for our 30th anniversary ❤️ Loved the service back then decided to book for my wife's 48th birthday on 12th February Well they done it again couldn't of Asked for a better experience. Even got a room upgrade which made this stay exceptional From start to finish of our stay we were treated so well as guests in the familyAnd the food both breakfast and dinner would have beaten any 5 star hotel with the service and quality
Nothing negative to put
We made a same day booking at Burnham Beeches Hotel & Spa after our flight was cancelled due to bad weather. Travelling with children, we still wanted to treat them to a night away from home, ideally somewhere with a pool and what an absolute gem we found. From the moment we booked, the staff were fantastic: warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating. Despite arriving within an hour of booking, they had already called to confirm our preferred room layout and whether we needed extra cots. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, with spacious rooms and every amenity you could want, including lovely touches like a Nespresso machine and White Company toiletries.I especially loved the many cosy nooks and spaces to relax with a drink or a bite to eat. We had lunch in the bar on arrival before heading straight to the pool. The facilities were excellent, the pool was large enough for both us and the kids to enjoy comfortably, even with other guests there. The grounds are also beautiful, great for a walk and there are bikes you can rent.We dined in the restaurant that evening, and everything was delicious. At one point, I mentioned to my family that I fancied a particular dish and drink that weren’t on the menu. A few minutes later, the waitress came over to say she had overheard and had asked the kitchen to prepare them for me. Truly outstanding service! This wasn’t the weekend away we had planned, but our stay here more than made up for it. I would highly recommend Burnham Beeches Hotel & Spa, a perfect family friendly escape with exceptional staff and facilities.
We loved everything!
It was well kept and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.
The pool had some dirt in it on the bottom.
Room was clean spacious bed comfortable.Facial was excellent.
Generally poor experience. Service in bar was grumpy, food in restaurant was terrible and service chaotic. Although additional food and a free bottle of wine was offered it really didn't change our view of what was a very poor meal. I hope that our constructive criticism is taken on-board for future guests. Automated check in was impersonal and reception staff below average in terms of appropriate service. Spa and pool area are tired and scruffy with damaged areas. Jacuzzi was out of service. I do not enjoy leaving a poor review and in general try to be positive but felt I had to address the problems. This hotel feels like its trying to be upmarket but being run in a shoestring.
Bed was comfortable??
Where to start…there for New Year’s Eve and day. Food options were poor and expensive so we out instead. The whole of the second floor stunk of cannabis for our entire stay and despite of numerous pleas to staff to deal with occupants of the rooms they were clearly not bothered or interested enough. The smell was SO bad that friends on another floor could smell it. Hotel seemed more interested that the room was being occupied, than deal with the issues. We ended up sleeping with towels wedged around our room door frame!!!Breakfast was lazy with zero attention from any staff past the point of being allocated a table….and don’t dare ask a question for fear of irritating the staff further. Wrap up warm too - gaps in the window frames keep the breakfast area well ventilated Swimming pool is dirty and dangerous with loose flooring, cloudy pool water, broken chairs and damaged seating planks in the sauna. The jacuzzi had been broken for weeks before our attendance according to receptionist. Before you go there, don’t forget to collect your damp pool towel from reception desk! The gym is a tired waste of time and if you do use the running machine, running on the right side of the belt causes the machine to become unstable and rock. Staff aren’t interested in that either. This was once a hotel that the England football team stayed at during Euro 96……how the mighty has fallen!
Lovely property nice location, comfortable space, breakfast was great.
The front house staff was very helpful.
There was cobwebs in the bathroom, we were not able to adjust the viewing of the TV, as we were not provided with the official remote control. For the amount of money and the level of hotel, you would expect to have a fully functional remote this makes a difference to the comfortability of the room. We made reservations and was not able to dine in the official dineing area. I booked the stay as we were celebrating are anniversary. The starter was lukewarm, and the bread cold, advised to have a main course that we really did not want. Paid an outrageous price for a bottle of sparkling water. Waited a long time to be served each meal. The jaquezzi was broken the pool water was freezing. DO BETTER.
The breakfast was great, the food at the restaurant although not varied was tasty. The room was tidy and the staff put in additional effort to wish my partner a happy birthday but unfortunately a day early.
You had to request towels at the reception for spa facilities, no robes or slippers provided in the room.
Stayed in a family room, good size and comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with hot water. Good breakfast with usual cooked or continental choices. Stylish reception, bar and restaurant.
The hotel decoration is a little tired in places, but the biggest disappointment is that you have to pay £5 per person every day you wish to use the spa facilities. I can understand a deposit for towels or to maybe pay once per stay, but £5 for every day is ridiculous. It cost us £30 to use the pool on 2 separate days for 3 of us!!! If it was a wonderful spa you maybe wouldn't mind, buts its very tired looking and not worth your time visiting if staying here.
The staff were very friendly and capable. Our room was lovely. The lounge bar was very nice too.
The coffee from the machine at breakfast time was disappointing. We had hoped for proper barrista coffee.
Facilities, warm room a decent size, friendly staff
Pool could have been warmer. A morning swim not possible as it was so cold. The bar menu could have had some healthier options
Great architecture, interior decor upbeat & interesting, a comfortable mixture of old and new. Sensible front doors. Garden it is a joy to walk among the mature trees. Spa facilities
A few minor potholes on the lane approach, it is now mid January so many roads have similar damage….negotiable with care.
Well run and clean lovely rooms and great breakfast
Dinner abit pricey but lovely food and great service
Stunning hotel with beautiful grounds
It is difficult to get to and dangerous to navigate unfamiliar roads in the dark
