About
The Red Lion is a charming pub and hotel with easy access to the M25, M1, A1, and train services to central London. The Harry Potter Studio Tour is a 15-minute drive away. The hotel dates back to 1906, when Radlett was a major railway junction in the early 19th century. The hotel has now fully refurbished the bar, dining room and guests areas. London's Kings Cross and Luton Airport are both just 20 minutes away by direct train. Freshly prepared British cuisine is available in the restaurant and bar area. Hotel guests also have use of a local gym, for an extra fee. We’re super excited to share that we’re having a bit of a makeover. Between 29 April 2024 and 27 July 2024, some of our bedrooms will be closed for refurbishments. Although we’ll try to keep noise and disturbance to minimum, please bear with us during this time. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to sharing our new look.

Comfortable bed.Excellent location next to train stationExcellent breakfast
Room was very small.
Good train service from St pancras.
Very small town/large village, not much to do.
Great location to train and shops. Pub has snugs and heaps of character.
There’s no lift so if you require easy access or have heavy bags, be warned.
The welcome. Clean and comfortable, though the room was small.
Stairs to the room. Overly priced drinks. Nearly £15 for a suspect single shot in G & T and 1 beer. An additional shot was requested (suspect again due to method of measuring?), resulting in an additional charge of £5.20, leaving us with a feeling of being ‘ripped off’. As a consequence we decided not to invite our family to join us for breakfast, as was our intention, or to order any further drinks at the bar.
Great food. Great staff. Lovely room. Mavis is so cute!
Like the welcome, staff very helpful, food very good especially breakfast
The room and breakfast were great, as was the bar where my daughter and I met family in the evening.
Nothing, everything was great!
Good room, good breakfast, Staff great and Beers and drinks all very good. Enjoyed the stay
Nothing really needing improving had a good stay and would stay there again.
Room
Unfortunately water was persistently running in the toilet, which concerned me. I reported it at reception.
The room was lovely, very spacious and the bed was superbly comfortable. The bathroom was also large and pleasant to use. Location of the hotel is excellent and they provide car parking to guests.
I hadn't realised the room was up on the 2nd floor (no lifts) and I have some minor mobility issues so that was a challenge. I would probably add a note about this to room descriptions. There was very loud noise from the plumbing when nearby rooms used their bathrooms, though not when we used our own!
The breakfast was perfect along with the choice and quality of the evening menu. The location was perfect, very easy to find.
The only slight negative was the shower in our room could have been better. But it would not stop me returning.
Nice room with comfy, large bed. Good food in the restaurant. Friendly staff. Laid back vibe. Easy parking. Close to the station.
Situated on a main road so may be a bit noisy for some but clearly that’s not their fault!
Excellent location for transport links. The staff were friendly and helpful. The newly refurbished room was lovely and the restaurant is to be recommended.
Very comfortable. Helpful and welcoming staff. Beautiful room.
The rooms were wonderful, comfortable, clean and felt renovated with keeping the heritage feel. The tea/coffee supplies in the room were much better than used to in other hotels. The food was really really incredible (Breakfast/lunch and dinner!) And the staff were extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommend if in the area.
Well appointed comfortable room (Room 1) with modern bathroom
The staff where very nice.
I got attacked by a drunk local idiot who I have never even seen before! And I was the one that ended up in the police cell in Stevenage!!! When I got back from the police station the next morning I wasn't even allowed to have a shower!!!!! I am disgusted with the whole situation! I want a fund, that is the minimum, as I spent literally 1 minute in the room!!
Room beautiful in appearance. Food was ok. Bathroom is well designed.
Bad cleaning issues. Team seemed to not want to be there on the evening. Not interested in serving at all.
I absolutely love The Red Lion. The charm, the decor, the atmosphere, the food were all brilliant. The staff were very helpful. We will definitely be back.
There is nothing not to like here!
