    Pros +

    • Clean, helpful staff, good value
    • Superb
    • Party on the Monday going on until 11:15pm, loud music. Ok on the weekend but not on a work day evening, lot’s of people staying away from home for work so need a decent nights sleep.

    Cons -

    • Rooms got mixed up with booking.com. The room we paid for wasn't available. The hotel gave us a refund and 4 free drink vouchers
    • Property tired, no been refurbished for a long time.
    • The swimming pool area needed a reboot - jacuzzi was out of order - whole area in the pool section was looking a little tired. After paying for the stay in cash on the night of arrival - I was called the following afternoon after our departure by reception wondering why I hadn’t paid ? Which I found quite insulting and upsetting-I then had to contact reception to make sure they had allocated the payment ? No apology from reception once they ‘found’ the payment - left my family feeling quite insulted

    Grounds

Lack of cleanliness, very run down. Jacuzzi was cold poolside very cold. Poolside and facilities dirty.

    3KirstiPosted on: 2-19-2026

The food was late, overcooked and dry. We didn't eat

The pool and jacuzzi were freezing you couldn't enjoy it. Food was late and appalling

    2AlicePosted on: 2-17-2026

    Staff were very friendly

Very run down. Dirty rooms (all 3), jacuzzi not working, filthy around pool and in changing rooms. Absolutely no soundproofing in rooms whatsoever.

    3NicholPosted on: 2-17-2026

The room itself was comfortable. Bed was a nice size and everything was clean

There was a dog in the room opposite which was barking during the night. The staff where polite and kind, however they were very slow with check in and bar service. Room service was abysmal. I paid £23 for a ham sandwich and a tuna sandwich. Both very basic. Not even an offering of crisps nor side salad. Very disappointing for the price.

We had a good party, tho the bar was limited on the choice of drink

Lack of drink choice at party bar. Staff did not really appear to know what they were doing when serving food, also had to continuously stop them taking glasses still in use. Receptionist did not appear to know what they were doing when booking in.

The location and value for money and a large car park. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

The dinner food. Pub food at restaurant prices on top of which it wasn’t great. Only ate in dining room on the first night; after that ate elsewhere.

    Quite place , clean room

Them not specific before about pool closing time. Them need to check the radiators that make a lot noise like something liquing inside. Can't sleep well because of this.

    8VanessaPosted on: 2-13-2026

Everything you need including a gym

I booked a table in the restaurant but had to sit in the bar area where it was cold as it was still full that’s my only complaint

The junior suite was impressive. The pool was clean and not crowded. The staff were all very helpful.

The food was over priced for what it was.

    3RebeccaPosted on: 2-9-2026

Nice breakfast, with good coffee machine.

Went for half board, the dinner wasn't great at all. Tiny portion of chewy squid for starter. A dry dull hunters chicken and a dry sticky toffee pudding. The bed was also uncomfortable, and the rooms in need of refurbishment. I spoke to an agent of mercure (using the number provided) to check the pool times prior to booking. Was told it would be open until 9pm and it was closed when we arrived at 6pm.

    9FrankPosted on: 2-9-2026

The parking is good and the rooms clean and comfortable, gym is ok as well and breakfast was excellent

    Pool is a bit dated

    8DianePosted on: 2-7-2026

Location good, staff excellent and hotel grounds lovely

Hotel and rooms are tired and in need of a refurb

    10KayPosted on: 2-5-2026

Great Staff. The chap on the reception the evening we checked in was super lovely. Although there was a large party on in the function room we didn’t have any disturbance in our room at all. Wonderful little trip back home to Hull from someone who now lives away.

    9GeorginaPosted on: 2-1-2026

The evening meal was very good and exceeded our expectations . Soup, homemade, dessert - chocolate mouse was best Ive had.

    6MargaretPosted on: 1-29-2026

Location was good as i was visiting castle hill hospital.Staff were pleasant particularly in the restaurant

The room was a bit dated and lacked warmth. The carpet was badly stained.

    The location and free parking

The room was dated, scruffy and needed a good clean.
