Pros +
- great location, helpful staff, fabulous room, thankyou.
- Very nice place, great location, beautiful pub, friendly staff. The room was beautiful, very comfy bed, nice vaulted ceiling (in the style room we had), and there is a decent amount of onsite parking.
- Great room excellent location friendly staff
Cons -
- The lighting in the room, especially the bathroom, was poor. Very dim. We had to move the floor lamp and direct the light into the bathroom so I could shave and my wife could apply her makeup. We also didn’t get shampoo, though there was shower gel.
- Having to wait two hours for food from time of ordering
- Some of the bathroom fittings are in need of updating. Windows can be a little hard to open and close.

Room is very spacious and there was a desk area and extra sofa bed in our room. Beds and bedding were very comfortable and the room was very quiet.
Some of the bathroom fittings are in need of updating. Windows can be a little hard to open and close.
2nd time of staying. No problems and excellent value for money. Super helpful staff and if you need to ring in advance. someone always answers the phone and is really friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly.
The steep steps...only 2....but a handrail would help. This is to the accommodation not the pub. II
Friendly welcome, lovely location, easy to find, free parking, easy check in, ample sized rooms, high quality furniture and fittings. Well stocked tea and coffee selection. Liked to be able to have an evening meal at the pub on site a few steps away from our accommodation.
The bathroom needed the drains investigating, there was a smell coming up from the sink when using, also when we rinsed the bath out ready to fill it, there was a back wash of debris that wasn’t very pleasant, we used the kettle to pour boiled water down the plug whole which cleared it. We commented on this when we checked out.
Breakfast was very good and location was good for our trip. Staff were pleasant and polite, the pup attached to the hotel was warm and welcoming.
It was the facilities that let the hotel down. The bathroom shower screen had the plastic seal missing, so there was an inch gap between the screen and the bath, so when showering the water went on the floor. The sink tap moved around, and you had to hold it still while you turned it on and off, also the sink plug was missing. Also the tea making set, didn't offer any biscuits, which would have been nice after a 3 hour journey, and kept us going until our evening meal.
The location and the pub are lovely. The bed in the room is very comfy.
The room we stayed in could do with a little updating although it didn't effect our stay, it did effect our first impression... Bathroom sink needs replace as it has 2 cracks in, the rooms could do with a lick of paint and there was rust on the grab bar next to the bath.
Food was lovely nice friendly staff very dog friendly
Nothing to report
Clean, well located, modern rooms, lovely food in the pub, great atmosphere
The rooms are very tired and the property is in need of some serious renovation. Rotting windows, sanitary-ware highly calcified and rusting, cracked tiles, peeling paint and wobbly taps. Time for some tlc please Marsdens
Fabulous location, the village is beautiful and great for walking. Nice facilities at the pub and great for a stay with the dog.
Exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely atmosphere and felt a genuinely happy and pleasant place to stay. Room was spacious and comfortable. Dogs were very welcome.
We were warmly welcomed and checked inThe room was spotless and very well equipped and supplied with tea and coffee etc.Parking on site and nearby was plentiful The bonus was no charge for the dog...we have been charged up to £50 for the dog for a night.Breakfast was excellent and hot.It was very quiet and peaceful overnight.
The rooms are across the yard ( not a problem) but access up a steep step and narrow steep stairs a challenge for those with limited mobility.Request a ground floor room! The evening meal whilst tasty was luke warm and the draft from outside when people came in and out a distraction
The breakfast was very goodThe price was goodThe staff were lovely
All fine for a 1 night stay
Atmosphere, food, location and staff.
Slightly noisy down to residents in other rooms.
Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. Excellent value. Good parking. Ideal location for us and not too much noise from outside.
Building a bit tatty. Windows could do with replacing. Some noise from room above, eg creaking floorboards etc. Small shower, built for a very tall person!
Large room. Warm with comfy bed.
Shower: hand shower did not work; no rubber seal on screen therefore water cascades over bath. Bath needs changing. Toilet flushing at times difficult.
Booking.com failed to inform the Green Dragon about our need for single beds, fortunately the hotel staff resolved the problem
Beautiful location, good food, comfortable room.
Parking can be tricky at busy times. Noise from neighbouring rooms carries.
