    Pros +

    • Location, helpful staff, price. Good shower.
    • The hotel room and facilities were very clean, had a comfortable night's sleep The location to the train station was very close
    • A tidy budget hotel with really warm hostage. Good connection to the city and close to underground station. The room and bathroom were very clean, and got room service when requested There was a kettle, tea and nesscaffe in the room. The carpet was very soft, enjoyed to walk on it. If i will return to London I will book again.

    Cons -

    • Beds were springy and not comfortable. Rooms were very small. The whole facility was clean but looked tired.
    • The lift was not working, so I had to climb a lot of stairs,There was also no luggage storage room so basically if I had a lot of large suitcases they would all be kept in the main hallway close to the receptionist area
    • The bed was too.soft for me, and could be slightly wider. The elevator hadnt worked, but it didnt cause and inconvinence.

    Location and cost were great

Little run down room had patched up plaster ect could have done with repaint to blend in. Duvet had some hair possibly for maid who made bed. Bed was bit uncomfortable but for one night it served a purpose

Located almost opposite Oval tube station the Maiden Oval presents a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the main road.Clean bedrooms with standard fittings and an en suite complete the picture.Plenty of places to eat opposite the hotel.

Some of the rooms are a bit tiny and pokey and so to have two adults and all of their luggage and bags fitting inside is an accomplished skill.

Clean and functional, near to tube station

Bathroom very small but okay for 1 night stay

    Cozy and well located

We stayed 2 nights and they never cleaned the room.

The friendliness of the staff and they were quick to put right the safe in my room which wasn't working and they quickly replaced it. Also the window in my room wouldn't shut properly and within 5 minutes they came and fixed it . Hotel is very close to the Oval underground station. Very convenient

Lifts not working. Nothing else to dislike

    Good location

We arrived early for a funeral so had to drop our luggage off, they did not have a luggage room or area we simply had to leave our bags at reception next to the front door. When we finally got into the room later that evening the room smelled of damp, there was hair in the “fresh towels”. There was period blood marks on the sheets. The lights flickered, the window which was on the ground floor and led onto the street did not close properly as well as the curtains do not actually fully fit the windows. One of the beds in the room the curtains are actually in the bed with you which I’m sure are not changed after each visit. The other bed must not have had anyone sleep in it for x amount of time as there was visible dust on the covers from where the bed has been made and left unchanged. Overall the only clean thing was the bathroom, I would not recommend staying here to anyone

    The beds were comfortable

Looked run down and not clean. Depressing frontage said it all. I banged my head as soon as as I entered our room because of a high angled pillar sticking out right by the door and even though they had done the bare minimum (black and yellow tape over the sharp angles) I still hit my head every time I came in to the room. Staff also barged their way in to our room in the middle of the night, accusing us of disturbing the other customers. Threatened to call the police (for what I don’t understand) and then proceeded to try and squeeze us for £200 fine for the disturbance!! It was a last minute booking because of a family tragedy and we were treated disgustingly. Don’t bother unless it’s your last and only resort!! Be warned !!

Decently renovated bathroom, comfy bed, very good location (near Oval and also Brixton Academy).

The safe didn't work, but that wasn't a big deal.

    8ElizabethPosted on: 2-4-2026

It was clean and in a great location

    Room felt isolated

    2AncaPosted on: 2-2-2026

    The bathroom was clean.

Dirty walls, no wardrobe, noisy radiator which couldn’t be turned off and meant I couldn’t sleep at all, toilet close to wall, impossible to sit on it, had to sit on the side.

Very nice and comfortable bathroom. The location was great close to the underground station and very quiet.

Bad WiFi, no outlet near the bed for charging devices.

    9SabinaPosted on: 2-1-2026

So close to central and really easy to get to places (bus stop is <4mins away and underground station is <5mins. Lovely staff on reception and comfy beds and bathroom is very modern and clean. I had to extend my stay and the staff were super helpful in assisting to do that. The price is great for what you get. There is also a (working!) vending machine in the lobby which helped for late night water needs. I say wiring as there is always an issue with some hotels. Also 24/7 staffed lobby genuinely felt like 24/7 as staff are so attentive throughout the day.

The WiFi was terrible unfortunately :( I had to work from the room a few days and I had to use my mobile data to personal hotspot which I eventually maxed out. But other than that couldn’t have asked more for the price!
