Pros +
- The pool
- We were on the ground floor overlooking the lake so the view was fantastic.
- Bar area was nice.Room was spacious and clean.
Cons -
- The room was too expensive to what we received, there was not good view, and the room didn’t offer bottles of water neither proper soap.
- The hotel is in the process of being renovated so outside our room was not as good as it will be when theres not construction going on. Also the spa was fantastic however there were people drinking beer in the pool. Ive been to spas where there is usually an area for drinking but not really in the pool. Also there was no benches in the changing rooms and the floor was wet so it was a little awkward to get changed.
- We went for a spa break which we do in-between Xmas and new year every year. This was the first time it was a disappointment. The spa was very small, over crowded, very loud. No beds. no lockers, no keys for lockers. Robes very small, no slippers in room so either walked to spa in trainers and robe or bear feet??? Was advertised as a prosecco bar in there but all's I saw where people drinking pints everywhere. Not a relaxing experience at all. Beds not comfy. Room too hot. No table service. Breakfast wasn't edible.... black pudding was like rubber. Mushroom and tomato just warmed up, not cooked. Couldn't wait to get home! Will not be returning! All thos I would have said at checkout but was never asked how my stay was!!!!

The staff were very helpful and friendly , we arrived early but were pleased to find our room was ready , we booked some treatments in the spa which was very well appointed and staff very helpful The main restaurant was closed but there were plenty of options to eat in the bar area so not a problem All in all a good stay would definatly return
TV was hard to see from the seating area and when the hotel is full the spa gets busy
The location, the welcome, the facilities and the unlimited use of the spa. After a relaxing day we wondered back to the room In robes to shower and order room service. I have always wanted to stay at this hotel and it did not disappoint.
Loved the room and the friendly staff!
Taxi service didn't want to pick up from the location and had to wait a long time to get a taxi to come. Internet stopped working.
It has been upgraded some of the pictures are a little out dated which is a positive and was a nice surprise when we got there to see aspects have got a lovely modern look. The view was amazing and myself and my partner got upgraded room for no reason but because of the lovely staff so that was a lovely gesture and was massively appreciated. Staff very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend for anyone travelling to Windermere as it’s close to everything only around £8 taxi fair if you want to branch out and go for an even meal or drinks.
Just great relaxing, we liked the idea of being able to eat when you want and not being stuck to timings ,breakfast being the only meal with time constraints. The staff were all lovely friendly people, we really enjoyed our stay and we plan to return in the future thank you for a very pleasant break away.
Beautiful place, lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Having lots of upgrades at the moment. Can't wait to book my next stay. Views are amazing too.
The views were amazing
Staff were extremely helpful and the spa is excellent value for money. One of the best places I've ever stayed in Windermere
Staff , location , views , spa and food all excellent
Contractors in updating the hotel , our Room 8 needs new double glazing but apart from that nothing
We really enjoyed our stay here. The view is spectacular especially from the hot tub which we got to use free of charge as the pool was under maintenance. The hotel is very clean and well kept and the facilities in the room were appreciated (kettle, tea, biscuits). The bed was also very comfortable!
As the hotel is under maintenance, parts have builiding work which does not look the best but I'm sure when it is finished it will look amazing! The food is also slightly overpriced for the quality.
Location.. view.. clean.. the spa
Breakfast is limited.. limited options
Front of house staff were very helpful, room was very good.
Breakfast were very poor both in content & presentation. Diiner on fist night was acceptable but on our second night the kitchen ignored the instructions the were given, so the end result was 2 breakfaste & 2 dinners were not charged for.
The staff were very welcoming and happy to help, we only stayed for one night and we had treatments at the spa we had a facial and an Indian head massage and it was lovely so relaxing, we had lunch afterwards overlooking the lake which was beautiful before we checked, the room was lovely nicely spaced out with door that open all the way across so we opened them right up to take in the view from the bed, the bathroom was lovely nice big bath, we had a private hot tub that was overlooking the lake so very relaxing.
Our room was down many flights of stairs so if you struggle with stairs this is not a room for you as I wouldn't deem it to be accessible friendly, same with the spa it is set further down, there are no lifts due to the lay out of the hotel as it's set on the hill side so it's staggered levels so there isn't much they can do about that so please keep in mind when booking.I would also say that even though there are facilities in the room id of appreciated a Minnie fridge or like a small kitchenette in there as it was warm and some where to put our drinks would have been nice to keep them cool.We also had a private hot tub this is what we mainly booked the room for but as it's in the lakes the weather is always unpredictable and it was raining on and off most of the day luckily for us by the time we used the hot tub it was just a very light drizzle but I think it would be better if they had something that they could pull over the top of the tub to protect from there weather if you want to for example if it is raining or really hot weather and you need a little protection just the option of pulling something over would be nice.
Nice views
Curtains fell down and needed A/C
Perfect location with lake views. Spa was excellent exceeded my expectations.
Excellent location on the lake. Fantastic deck, great food, helpful staff
Parking instructions should be given prior to check in or at time of booking (maybe they were and I missed them). The road is very busy and it would’ve been better to know where the lot was
The staff at Beech Hill are amazing. Extremely friendly, couldn't be more helpful. The views are fabulous, the food good. Will definitely return.
Nothing could be improved
