About
Immersed within 19 acres of child-friendly woodland on the beautiful Devon coast, this family-run hotel features magnificent views over the golden sandy beaches and Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve. A former Victorian gentleman’s residence, Langstone Cliff now provides comfortable hotel accommodations suitable for long and short breaks for both business and leisure travelers. With so much to see and do in the area, the hotel is also a popular destination for families. The 64 bedrooms with attached bathroom are located on just 2 floors with 10 rooms located on the ground floor. The remainder are on the first floor which can be reached by a elevator or 4 staircases. For moments of relaxation, you can stroll through the gardens or enjoy views of the sea from one of the communal rooms. 3 exceptionally comfortable lounges offer you a quiet corner for a chat or even a snooze. The hotel has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools for guests to enjoy. The indoor pool is open all year round and the outdoor pool is seasonally opened. There are some limited spa facilities and massages available. The hotel offers holistic and beauty therapy and also a hairdressing salon on site.

Pros +
- I had a problem with one of the bar staff regarding a payment she overcharged me and was supposed to reimburse me but instead took a further £16 out of my account she did finally get it right but it didn't do In my account t unil two days later. The hotel was clean generally good staff but a lot of waiting to be served. Very disappointing that such a large beautiful hotel did not have a sauna/steam or Jacuzzi it would have really improved it. I feel this is particularly important during bad weather.
- Lovely location Good food.
- Location.
Cons -
- There was no sauna/ spa jacuzzi which would have been great during the appalling weather. Staff were very slow and made mistakes
- Disco on Saturday night until 12.30 kept us awake.
- Being woken at 7am by housekeeping, thinking we were part of the coach trip which we said No, only to be woken 45 mins later and asked the same question.

Good location and a decent breakfast
The WiFi was terribly intermittent and the 4G non existent so it made communication very difficult
Location
Very very overpriced We paid £378 for two nights and didn’t even include break. Very disappointing! We expected more for the money we paidIt has been 29 years since our last visit and still looks exactly the same
breakfast very good , staff excellent, location the best.
Charming, family run hotel with good customer service. You can tell that the staff care about the place. Brought back lovely memories of traditional British holidays. Great location.
Definitely not value for money.
Charged for parking just because I didn't book direct. I found this quite mean spirited. Also £16 for breakfast yet the coffee was instant or from a canteen style self service machine.
Excellent staffFood was amazing Excellent facilities Will definitely be going back
View, location and grounds
Dated decor, uncomfortable bed, poor bathroom
Its location
Lack of information around food allergies and that every thing cost extra . From £2.00 to play snooker for £5.00 to dry the clothers ..
Swiming pool access Sea view and location
Rooms require improvement Poor menuTennis court required improvement
Location, staff friendly and helpful
A C unit in room not working properly paid top price for room
Beautiful location, close access to the beach, cosy feeling, friendly staff
Mostly the terrace and the view!
Prices are pretty steep - especially as they do not charge for a room but per person and so for a family it’s more expensive than a trip abroad!
Facilities and view
Room was too hotHad to pay for parking
Breakfast good but wasn't expecting to pay extra for it.
In hot weather lack of cooler/fridge in room was disappointing as I like fresh milk for my tea not little plastic pots.Loo separate from changing room/shower at indoor pool was inconvenient.
The hotel I've known since 1980,my wife has worked there, we've attended wedding receptions over the decades. It's airways been a good place to visit with a brilliant view and my dogs were very welcome.
I'm not sure if the air conditioner was working properly as the fan appears to only work intermittently and boost in speed didn't happen. So this may need looking at.
The hotel was very lovely Easy to find Staff very friendly and accommodating
The only thing me and my partner were not very keen on the English breakfast the bacon was very over cooked and hard to eat I paid for two days breakfast but we decided not to have it on the next day and ate on the way home
Staff very helpful. Hotel was so close to the sea. Food was very good although they needed more staff on at times. Will certainly go back again
