- This was our second stay at the royal hotel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms exceeded our expectations. They were much larger than anticipated, tastefully decorated and the standard of cleanliness couldn't be faulted. Amaxing breakfast also
- Room very noisy over kitchen (I stated a quiet room in my request) very basic, the pub was nice great food but rooms let it down, worst room on this 15 night trip so far
- Good off motorway stop. Nice canal walk close by
Cons -
- Nothing that we can think of
- Tv didn’t work Shower poorVery noisy from kitchen Basic tea making facilities
- Internet was terrible. Required a lot of personal information to be disclosed for a marginal service. Cell coverage was bad as well so communications were sub par

Staff always friendly and so helpful Room was comfy and lovely view of the canal
Easy to find. Parking available opposite hotel.
No breakfast available until 9am, exit via steep, narrow fire escape if leaving before 9am, cobwebs in bedroom and bathroom, no shelf or storage in bathroom so washbag/toothbrush had to be put on the floor by toilet (or kept in suitcase).
Dog friendly Great walks
Warm rooms
Great location, friendly staff and an amazing breakfast
The room had a few cobwebs especially in the bathroom. Window was directly above vents which were noisy from about 6am
Clean and comfortable, good food
Breakfast starts at 9am, bit late for most guests.Road noise, wasn't too bad.Still trying to get a vat invoice from them.
The room was excellent - clean and well laid out with everything needed for a short stay. The staff were outstanding and we had a great meal in the evening.
There was honestly nothing required.
LocationComfy bedPleasant staff Clean bathroom
Room very dusty especially bed side lamps, bed head. Bathroom had no shelves or storageWindow did not openNo sound proofingWoken early on last morning by maintenance men literally removing doors to rooms/ drilling etc , When I told them , they said they were not aware we were in the room! They were were very polite and considerate though.Breakfast not available until 9am!Breakfast not great, not really hot, considering we were the only people eating breakfast it was not good.Coffee and tea bad.Dinner was not great. If you like burgers, steak and pizzas, fine. But other menu was boring and kind of odd.. Chef clearly tried to do his best but didn't pull it off.
The breakfast was lovely and staff were really friendly.
The heating wasn't on so the room was cold and there was only one towel in the room.
Bedroom was on the small side, newish toilet/shower room but bedroom was care worn and basic. The road outside was the Main Street/by-pass and was busy throughout the day and as a consequence the bedroom noisy from the traffic noise.Pub restaurant was modern, had a great atmosphere. Good food and drink. Staff friendly and helpful.Nice location, hand for local facilities and sites, convenient for Morecambe and the Lakes.
Basic bedroom. Traffic noise during the night.
Comfortable room, great shower, good food and bar area.
I was awoken at 5.30 am by doors slamming, dogs barking and what sounded like a herd of elephants on the stairs above me. There was clattering and doors banging late at night too.
Location
Room condiments...lack of milk and coffee
Breakfast was very good, room was clean and shower was amazing.
Nothing really behind the bed headboard could do with a dust
The pub is great just been refurbished
The rooms are very basic bed seen better days carpets filthy and the hospitality tray worst i have ever seen 2 tea bags to coffee no decafNo draws in room just a wardrobe had to keep most thing in caseWe have stayed in the carnforh area loads of times We wont be staying there again
The food was fabulous, pretty busy but didn't have to wait long and everyone enjoyed their meal. Also the bed was very comfy. The check in bloke was very friendly and helpful too.
The teapot in my room had cold tea and tea bags from previous guests and so clearly hadn't been cleaned. Also the plumbing was very noisy.
The food was second to none. They had a lovely menu and the quality of the food was good. The shower room in the bedroom was clean.
The room smelt of drains. The carpet was grubby. There were bits on it, also at the edges of the carpet next to the skirting boards, it was very dusty and had not been vacuumed. The windows int he bedroom did not open and it was very claustrophobic. The shower only run cold water and I was unable to have a shower in the morning. The room did not have a hairdryer. The kitchen, for breakfast, did not open until 9am. I was there on business and had to be at my place of work for 9am, so I was unable to eat.Very disappointing, as the hotel was recommended.
Very comfortable room, staff were helpful, welcoming and polite, everything was fine.
Nothing not to like. I had a very comfortable night's sleep .
food was fantastic, highly recommend dinner
heating wasn't on and had to ask, rooms were dull and noisy at night
