Best Western Thurrock Hotel

Lovely hotel. My only issue is that I have been charged twice. I used my cc to book then paid cash on arrival, I was told no payment would be taken from my card. They are currently looking into it. Just make sure you take a receipt just in case.

Ideally located for Damyns aerodrome, and good value for money.

little bit tired and could do with updating

1)We loved the English breakfast a lot 2)the waiters were so extremely kind and especially the Scottish front desk man employee was so very kind and generous he helped us carry our luggage upstairs to our room 3) the lady employee was so very kind she gave us so much coffee n tea packets too and another employee was kind enough to provide us information to get a better deal if we want to come back to stay for a month or so in the future.

Everything was great we relaxed a lot and really enjoyed the library view the huge lobby view the fountain in the back made our trip so romantic ? and marvelous, we didn’t want to come back to our destination because of this incredible hotel experience, the staff became like family there they are so kind and professional people.

Staff helpful and accommodating.

Breakfast was missing listed items, bottled water, cakes, banana, and the coffee machine was not working both days.

Parking facilities were good and property was easy to manoeuvre around.

My Dad’s photo from 1949 is still on the wall when this place was his school. Breakfast was also good.

Creaking floorboards from above means an early start is mandatory.

It was a lovely stay. Not too far from the shopping centres and the activities. The staff were so welcoming . Really enjoyed our stay.

I didn't like how there was no lift.

Didn’t get much sleep due to very noisy hotel guests, trying to contact night porter was very difficult! Still noisy at 1am & 3am! Very frustrating when you stay overnight to be fresh for a meeting but have little seep!!

Lights didn’t work in the room

The room was very clean and spacious, and had everything we needed in it. The location was really useful for us too.

The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, we went and brought some more from tesco. The rest of the bed was comfortable and everything was clean though.The radiator in the room wouldn't turn down either.

There was nothing to like.

Musty smell in both rooms. One room smelt like it had just been painted. The other smelt of cigarette smoke.No A/C. Rooms were hot at night.

Nice restaurant and bar, and the staff are really nice. The bed was awful, really hard and the noise from the nearby road is loud and constant. The WiFi isn’t very good either.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was nice and quiet - really nice bar and excellent food.

The WiFi was very bad, you can connect but it's just not very good. When booking we asked for rooms close together as we are family needing two rooms, upon check in they said there were not enough rooms to accommodate this so we were on different floors! However the hotel was extremely quiet and we hardly saw any other guests so I'm not sure that really was a reason - more likely an oversight.

The breakfast was good quality and reception staff were efficient and friendly

Quality of bedding poor, not enough pillows and pillows not plump. Duvet very thin and we were cold during the night. Curtains broke so wouldn’t pull shut so was awakened with sunlight

Had a very good night's sleep. Superb and comfy mattress. Very clean bathroom.

It’s got a gorgeous regal entrance to it and a buzzzz of activity

Couldn’t work out the shower gel dispenser so utilised the handsoap dispenser instead - same effect!

Convenient last minute booking clean room lots of space

Shower temperature was stuck on hot, wasn't able to adjust it Quite noisy through the night at different times due to people walking around upstairs. The floor boards may be loose
