Pros +
- Beautiful property and comfortable beds
- Lovely welcome - offered help with our bags and personally shown around by the reception team. The property has been thoughtfully restored and has some lovely grounds and woodland to explore. The billiards room and library are great spaces. The spa is excellently managed (some lazy clients just throwing used towels and robes on the floor - that’s on the guests, not the staff!) Spa treatments were heavenly. The chef team is brilliant - we ate in the restaurant (there are no wrong choices here, everything is freshly prepared and delicious). Breakfast was superb with a buffet selection and a freshly-cooked breakfast menu to choose from. It’s clear there is a lot of work happening to develop the hotel and the staff are just brilliant. There was a relaxed, friendly vibe at the hotel and it’s on our list to visit again in the future.
- Our room was huge , so comfy and relaxingMassive bathroom Our room had a mini fridge inAll staff were wonderful and so friendly
Cons -
- Middle of nowhere with absolutely no available transportation. Took us over 3 hours to get there from the holyhead port and had to walk 25 mins in the pouring rain in the dark with no sidewalk
- Ensuring the lights in the room were working, obviously no one had checked all the bedside lights, both spot reading lights had failedLimited storage for clothing, we had to ask for the extra pillow and duvet to be removed before useing the drawersThe furniture in the room, was a little worn with some areas of peeling laminate on the drawer fronts. That should have been noted and repaired ( possibly management relying on cleaning staff reporting defects rather than inspecting rooms??) Not a good initial impression. The fact that the reception aspect of the hotel was transferred to the Spa in the evening and on the morning, making it an inconvenient checkout. The venue is really a Spa first and a hotel second. Although offering a dining room, this was run by a separate company. The menu was all Italian, with no alternatives, and so for guests staying in the hotel, was therefore limited in appeal, being the same every night. Obviously no problem for a single visit, but not suitable for residentsWe did not like the fact that the lounge area,(called the library) was under what appeared to be constant CCTV monitoring. I acknowledge that there was a small notice stuck to a panel in reception saying CCTV in use, but the lack of privacy felt uncomfortable, and there was no CCTV warning in that room.It was obvious that the Spa side of the business was the main focus of the company. The hotel side which had been the main driver some years ago, had now been reduced to a back up role. The brochure and online descriptions would lead one to expect a hotel with a Spa, It is a Spa with accomodation, and not really a base to explore AngelesyBooked three nights,we left one day early. £453 (no reduction for early departure) too expensive for what it provides, especially if you do not spend all day in the Spa,As older travellers, that did not appeal. and there did not appear to be any facility to book the hotel alone. That would attract travellers rather than Spa devotees!
- Absalutely nothing to do once arrived, decent gym, no paths or trails to explore, or nearby quaint village. Restaurant staff very nice need Alotta training

The location and surroundings.Facilities available at the hotel.Staff extremely helpful and accommodating.
It's a nice place, lovely pool and spa facilities. Staff try and they smile. Pool is good size. Steam room when on is great. Bedrooms are large. Good value. They never seem to master cooking the black pudding at breakfast, thou. A couple more minutes..

Very quiet. Good restaurant. Great breakfast. Strong water pressure

Very clean and beautiful grounds ☺️
The bar shut early on a couple of occasions and we were asked to leave the bar.
Gym and pool / spa was good, good equipment, good free weights room, pool goodoutside pool a great sun trap area nice beds to relax.Marketing unclear, opening times of bar and the food only served until 4 after 4 had to eat in restuarant and book, or just crisps available!
Arrived waited 15 minutes for someone to turn up in reception another guest had already been there 15 minutes. Room cleanliness poor wrote clean me on bin in bathroom, toilet seat had been glued back together, walking round general cleanliness poor, black mould in spa showers, cobwebs on equipment in free weights room and looking up light fittings full of dead flies, should have opened at 7am was 20 minutes late opening and not tidied up from day before! On check out walked from spa side on crutches to reception with please check out at spa side, 2 dead flies on floor in reception and a dead wasp!Food didn't eat as hadn't booked and didn't want a full on Italian meal, no food after 4 in clock tower bar just drinks and crisps, but not clear on website or on the marketing.
Beautiful location. Great facilities and great food
we had a expesnive room and it was the biggest room ive evr staye in.
dirty fan in room
Beautiful rooms, fantastic breakfast and lovely grounds
We booked this for emergency stay in booking.com and were amazed at our room 6 accommodations. Though be careful for searching in gps since there is a low income housing named place that we accidentally loaded for directions. The grounds are beautiful and worth exploring for a couple days. We loved it so much that we added another stay on the back end of our trip to Wales. There is also a lovely spa that is onsite to enjoy. I left my favorite coat in the room and staff called me as they were cleaning when they found it. Not many places would reach out. They then shipped it to me at our next location arriving just 2 days later. They were exceptional with making sure I got my item back.
There is some signs of wear and age to the property, but work is being done to continue to improve the property. Sometimes the front desk is not covered and you need to go to the spa for check in or out, not a big deal. I guess the biggest issue is that there is no elevators and so the property would be challenging for a person with mobility issues.
The house itself was very beautiful. Staff were lovely, facilities included for the price like the spa was brilliant. And the onsite restaurant was great as there was nothing else around so it had to be good! I could also charge my car for free which was an added benefit.
Slightly dated but it is a grand old manor house that has been exceptionally well kept, so not really a negative but that is what you can expect.
Location and restaurant staff
Cleanliness
Beautiful property in stunning grounds with nice restaurant and spa facilities
Difficult windy roads to access it
Absolutely beautiful hotel, food, staff, cleanliness and spa.The location was amazing!
The only down point was the spa and gym didn’t open till 9am.
Everything. Spa was lovely. Treatments were bliss. Pool facilities were great. We ate in the restaurant, we had a very nice meal. The staff were all very friendly. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere. Very peaceful. Great weekend away
It was a lovely old building and the restaurant was nice and the gardens were beautiful. The pool and spa area were also very good.
The main reception wasn’t open so we had to walk around to the spa desk to check in. Our room had weird bits all over the carpet and the four poster bed fabric was falling apart. The curtains didn’t close properly
Smooth no fuss check in Exceptional facilities..pool sauna etc
Having to stand outside at 0130 am because of fire alarm ..these things happen no one was hurt
