Good location and facilities

The room felt a little cold and the bathroom even more so. We did not see there was a switch for the towel rail outside the door until the morning - if that had been put on the temperature could have been increased

We had trouble with hot water Poor added toiletries etc Didn’t stay for breakfast ie water and shower gel issuesPoor sleep as noise from local bar kept me awake

Right in town - wonderful location and great architecture of the hotel. Flavor of Scotland.

All the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Food was nice too. Comfy bed and cozy room.

The location was good

Hotel is like a time warp. Definitely in need of a refurbishment. Wood chip on the wall. Room was very cold. Had to keep the electric heater on. Wi fi was temperamental. Water was not hot enough for a bath.Dining room was freezing. Asked for a boiled egg at breakfast, was told I could only have it poached fried or scrambled!Not good value for money. Room was miserable.

Hotel very dated, and not sure what made the room deluxe. Room located above the bar which was very noisy especially when trying to have an early night. New mattres but found uncomfortable.

Location middle of high street. Very good shower

Location, the social areas, the quality of breakfast. It's easier to say everything!

It's a very minor point, but the toilet area in our room was very snug!

The hotel is central. It has on-site parking.

I have a disabled wife. The location would benefit from a bannister on both sides of the stairs. Instructions should be on the website site re stair access only. This will warn disabled residents. The bath shower needs grab handles fitted. This has become a normal feature in most hotels.

Have been coming here a few times a year for around 7 years, always a perfect stay. The food and home baking are fabulous

Was our return stay , as before clean comfortable friendly staff .. beds so comfy

I was so glad I had been moved from 2nd floor to the first floor as it was a bit of a climb just up to Reception!!

No lift and steep stairs. Not great if you cannot manage stairs with luggage.

The staff were very friendly and made us comfortable. Everything was very clean.

The bathroom was a little cold. I would have preferred some more fruit options and plain yoghurt at the breakfast, even if that meant paying extra on top of the very reasonable price charged.

Great Location, Good value for money, excellent staff who where very helpful, clean comfortable rooms with good facilities.Great Breakfast and large free car park at rear, will stay again, there are a lot of stairs to contend with.

Very friendly staff and bar stocked with plenty of single malt whiskies. Good central location in a beautiful Scottish historical town

Some people may find it's upstairs location at problem but it was fine for me and I expect there is a lift but I was not looking for one

Bathrooms I appreciate it’s an old hotel but they could do with refurbishing them . As soon as as you open the door you’re virtually walking into the bath.

Breakfast was ok

The electric shower control unit on the wall was obviously burnt out and been taped off so we couldn't have a showerIn the morning the staff said a pipe had been attached to the bath taps to facilitate a temporary shower but we never noticed that .
