    Cons -

    • I had a beautiful ground floor room but unfortunately the room above me had really squeaky floor boards so I had a few very early mornings!
    • Dining room was freezing. The walls in the bedroom were very thin. We had a terrible sleep. Could hear everything and everyone throughout the night. Noisy floorboards above us.
    • Small bed and a very mediocre breakfast

Great location, friendly staff. Lovely property.

Rooms are always overheated and on the small side. Bathrooms are basic.

Staff were friendly, bar was lovely, nice grounds and setting Quiet location- no road noise.

Rain shower only - hopeless for women who want a shower but not get their hair wet. Hated it. Also chair in the room was torn and spoiled the decor.

Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, excellent breakfast

Small number of rooms at the back of the hotel not serviced by a lift - second floor hard on the knees!

    8HelenPosted on: 1-18-2026

    Lovely room, lovely bed linen

Everything was small, small bed, small room, small shower, wardrobe was ikea vibe, not boutique hotel like furniture

Food good. The car park was not all salted and sanded on the first day of snow. I had to walk to the gate and it was very dangerous. The following day you sanded all !?!

Close to all shops and restaurants with free car parking Staff very friendly and attentive Bar and restaurant with lovely decor Great food

The room was very hot and when the window was opened the extractor fans near our bedroom were very noisy so didn’t sleep very well. The room door lock was faulty and would not lock itself so had to call for assistance

The property was gorgeous, lovely location, lovely restaurants and bars. All round a very chilled out weekend!

The rooms weren't the biggest, especially given the money we paid for one night.

What a glorious place staff were Wonderful and the entire hotel exudes that luxurious feel the restaurant in the orangery is wonderful, the function rooms were perfect we had a delightful room and breakfast was unbelievably nice wow .....10 out of 10 Id highly recommend this place and would love to stay again hopefully soon

    Absolutely Brilliant no faults whatsoever

The hotel is very beautiful and the room was quiet and comfortable.

The service at breakfast was a little slow (e.g. buffet lacking plates, and some items not being replenished). Also our room lacked sufficient towels initially (we had to collect more from reception). Apart from these minor things, we enjoyed our brief stay.

    10AndrewPosted on: 12-15-2025

Booked an overnight stay and fair to say, room and service were excellent from arrival, evening meal and breakfast. Easy recommend from us and we will be back for a longer stay next time as the area is lovely and well worth exploring.

Nothing springs to mind - all expectations were well met.

Convenient for village, Alderley Edge walks, friendly staff, great food.

    Location

Walls paper thin, could hear residents next door talking until 4am…No none on reception on arrival.Had to be in the know at breakfast, automatically settled for the buffet, but then the couple on the table next to us ordered eggs Benedict and pancakes freshly to order.

    6UnknownPosted on: 12-11-2025

Food was nice but service absolutely awful, left to work out loads of stuff ourselves like where to go where to sit etc.. breakfast we eventually figured out was a cold and hot buffet or an order for a specific item from the menu… sat for 25 minutes and no one explained anything or asked what we’d liked and there was only one other table in wasting so not like they were busy … eventually we just loooked around and helped ourselves to buffet that we found.. dinner the night before was also the same disaster no food or drink menus given to us left for 30 mins then asked what we wanted - but how did we know what there was??? Eventually got food menu which was different from the menu i later saw online - u think they gave us a festive menu as its probably all they could find… orders drinks blind as still didn’t have a drinks menu - also we were they only table in the restaraunt so not a busy night to excuse long waits and sub standard service … staff were never about and ignored you… only pleasant member of staff was the receptionist on our arrival but again she didn’t explain dinner or breakfast arrangements or tell us about any facilities we could use etc… expensive and disappointed - only good thing about this hotel is its location

Shorter list of what I did like …

Fantastic location, staff very helpful and decor was lovely.

The room was far too warm, a fan was provided and windows left open however the room was too hot to be comfortable.

    10HannahPosted on: 12-1-2025

How spacious and accommodating the hotel were. The surroundings were beautiful, food was lovely and staff so helpful.

Could hear everything outside the room but wasn't too bad.

    4KirstyPosted on: 11-29-2025

    The location

The rooms were far too hot which led us not being able to sleep the whole night. Was ridiculously warm - was like being abroad with no air conditioning. Was a fan on in the room but was so noisy that added made us not be able to sleep. The hotel was expensive for a 1 night (£178)stay and the most important thing about a hotel stay that you should be able to sleep. Heat was so uncomfortable I was up and down all night to the toilet patting cold water one me. Heat in that room was abnormal - must always be like that as the standing fan was already on for us when we first entered /checked in.
